Maybe wait to see what doc says, and possibly ask if you can be referred on to a specialist (GP's are great, but they are there for general bumps/grinds/aches/pains unless they are really good - depending on how lucky you are these guys/girls can be hard to find) and get some support for the aching bits (sport supports perhaps). How are your feet? Are you a tall chap? - a friend of mine 6'3"+ was suffering terrible with similar symptoms and he went to see a guy about his feet and got some professionally made/prescribed inserts for his shoes - the guy runs bloody marathons now with these inserts!!! Totally transformed him from a daily acher to a 14-30mile runner (wish some simple inserts would work for me like that ). As for when and where arthritis can strike.... I went to junior school with a kid suffering from it! (a bit extreme granted, but can happen - depends on the type/underlying cause). What is the popular supplement these days for joints other than cod liver oil? Something along the lines of glucosamine phosphate (I haven't looked into the efficacy of such things, but some folk swear by them). Don't despair, you are still young!
  3. Braided lines - question - aren't they *techincally* an MOT fail (in as much as they advisory on sills etc if you have body kit!)? I love the shiny braideds and I consider them technically far superior - just the inspection is what fails them right? When my brakes were playing silly feckers I didn't mess about! Bought brand new everything... in some well researched areas bigger than stock as my plans were afoot... funnily enough fixed everything and I am happy with brakes now. Worst thing to skimp on EVER - is the braking system on ANY car! New Brake master cylinder, new hoses, new calipers (a bit overkill can overhaul old ones), new Discs, completely new pads (goes with the calipers for me in this bit)... done Ramsay> Not cheap - but I will not compromise on stopping, regardless of having 30-1000hp!! Just aint worth dicking about. If you can't afford to stop it reliably you can't afford to drive it!
  4. *bows down* - I really did laugh quite hard at this
  5. So sorry to hear this Greg, If it helps any - (as in hope) - My friends wife has bizarre reactions to our tap water and can only drink bottled water from certain sources these days. She only found this out when she went on holiday for the first time in years, 2 years ago, after being crippled with agonizing cramps and pains for thelast 15+ years (she has morphine @ home which shows how bad that was) and was told not to drink the local water.... she was perfectly fine the whole time she was away, returned home and started cramping again. She thought about what had changed and moved to bottled water. She has been fine since (also discovered most spices and a few fruits do this too) - the human body is a weird piece of machinery! I assume they have ruled out gout (uric acid crystals in the joints) with the various tests (also usually a history of it in the family). The only other thing I can think of is a neuralgic problem. The problem isn't necessarily any form of inflammation but some misinterpreted responses to signals in the brain! :S It has been a long time since I have researched diseases and weird drug interractions (ex Pharmaceutical Chemist turned programmer). Have you been chronically taking any prescribed/non prescribed medication/supplements? You will get over this dude! Just have a touch of faith! Cheers, Si.
  6. Rosie; You is eebil! Happy Birthday fella!
  7. We take you as we find you *hugs*! I am dodging posting any of me heh!... everyone seems so damned young in the forum all of a sudden...
  8. Can't be too far away from you Amigo. I don't mind popping around if you are in need of some assistance.
  9. The inside pad was considerably more worn than the outside one, although both were pretty well worn and need replaced what did you have to do to sort yours mate:) Made an RS of that sorry! I had a friend that is a mechanic specialising in Jap imports refurbish the calipers (because I am not that great with some of the finer mechanical points so let a mate in the know fix) - ordered bits from Toyota (not overly pricey for an urgent fix IIRC) - seemed to fix the issues! Some of the J-Spec calipers actually crack it seems (fault? who knows but seems to happen). You can get caliper refurb kits (not for cracked calipers - sadly you need new ones if they are) from Toyota - If you have your spec on hand (UK, J-Spec etc) - I am sure someone like Nic here could furnish you with the numbers to bug your local dealership with - order from Nic for possibly the best deal on any OEM parts you can get if you can wait a little while, or local dealership if desperate (they are mostly quite good as long as you give them exact part numbers and can have them within 1-2 working days but bloody pricey). Open question: Does the club still have a cheap OEM chap on hand such as Steve Manley (I have been kinda afk for 14months+ so am not aware of any changes like this) - if so that would be the best mid ground for OEM bits required in a timely manner.
  10. Even(ish) or obviously uneven pad wear on both sides? You could have a caliper that is sticking slightly [as per your old man mentioned] (again an issue I had to have corrected, piddling brakes drove me nuts for a while!) - just something to check, though it is probably nowt.
  11. Does DW8 use CSS 3 selectors and stuff? That would explain a whole boatload of issues. Will ask my friend in the morning that develops using it! (Never touched it myself). Edit: Looking at the site in firefox 3.0.1 on MacOS 10.5.4 looks ok... will check earlier versions.
  12. Riiight hehe. Pentwyn boy myself just 5 mins down the road - well no - in Reading these days (past 10 years), but you catch my drift

  19. I'm trying to be nice, I can understand how it may be freaky to someone - especially if they are inebriated or some such or simply do not understand a few of the underlying technologies modern browsers use... I am attempting to stop anyone saying something they will regret UBER style. (I sometimes wish someone would keep an eye on me like that ).
