  1. Hi, which fuse was it that you replaced? Also... HOW THE F*CK do you get the fuse cover off in the foot well? Mine appears to be fixed in place with a screw head that just turns and turns and turns and turns... I am on the virge of just ripping the little f*cker off! But know that there is normally a *trick* to these things that I regret destroying half my car finding out afterwards!! GRRRRRRR!
  2. It disappears up to the right and behind the steering column - possibly going into it somewhere. I will take the cover off it to see where it is going when I get back from work. So a hunting I will go. But I am unconvinced this has much to do with my current woes - always good to find out wtf wires are going to/from though
  3. Cheers chaps, If that's what it is, at least it eliminates the wire from my dash illumination diagnosis Thanks again.
  4. Hehe, I will test it. Other than that, no idea. Bugger if I know whats wrong with my dash lights too!
  5. Interesting... not sure who would have fitted that if it wasn't stock? I replaced the stereo and never run any wires in there (although I was at a mates house and we did have the Supe in bits whilst drinking ).
  6. Hmmm, not sure - as you say, it could be vestidule and was actually never connected in my dash. I just hate finding stuff not connected when things aren't working My current fog lamp is attached somewhere in the region behind the ash tray with black and red wires running from a snap connector, as far as I know was the only attempt to "convert" it
  7. ...just realised that there is a mysterious blue wire loose in my dash - and wondering where it should live? I am only concerned as I may have knocked it out of its home when struggling to put some connectors back on the dash panel that contain the heater controls. None of the night time illumination is currently working in the dash, and I couldn't find a fuse blown and hadn't noticed this wire wasn;t attached to anything until I knocked it and noticed how slack it was while fiddling in the dash area. The wire seems to run from behind the steering column somewhere and was tucked in a lip behind the dash panel and seemed to run back into the depths of the dash - I can't for the life of me see an obvious connection point (I haven't pulled the stereo out yet, but will do). Anyone have any ideas, or know if it is likely to be something important to do with the dash illumination? (or something else even more/less important?). Pics: http://waptech.ist.co.uk/o_pics/dashwire1.jpg http://waptech.ist.co.uk/o_pics/dashwire2.jpg Any help appreciated
  8. Cheers, I will take a look at them tomorrow if the garage hasn't already sent them to be flow tested (what a waste if they aren't even the right ones, sheesh). Let me know how you get on with the PayPal dispute mate. Lesson to be learned - leave the cheap sh*t alone - well especially when it comes to somethign so crucial as the injectors... (methinks I see an expensive set of RC/Lucas jobbies in the pipeline).
  9. Do you intend to have the Linux on the new fresh HDD and have the option to dual boot on startup? If so then you shouldn't have to do anything with your Winblows partitions, the boot loaders can be launched via the MBR (lilo grub etc) and installed (and removed) non-destructively.
  10. Haven't offered them up to my fuel rail yet - or had any dealings with them, so I am to assume this is a dead loss and not even worth flow testing? (I better call my chappy that is sorting it if it isn't). I wouldn't have been putting these into a standard rail, but you say the rail isn't the problem? How much out of whack are they? Wrong angle, completely different fitment? Ah well - life lesson learned.
  11. They didn't look re-bored stock, they look ok to be honest from the outside, don't *look* like they have been fitted, and I have a friend sorting out testing them, will post my results when I get them back. As for a pic of what I received (I don't have the buggers at the mooment for close pictures, but this is a shot of them after I got them - not that great sorry). http://waptech.ist.co.uk/o_pics/17082006.jpg
  12. Hot piss , I had some of these sat on the side considering getting them installed... wondering if it is even worth the cash getting them properly flow tested or just wanging the fookers back at the c*nt (I bought these a while ago when I was sitll new to the scene... well still new now... but CHRIST! - thank fook they were never installed). eBay shite and there is no doubt - may just get em tested anyhoo - but don't think I will trust to fitting them, will just file my complaint with PayPal if they test as crazy as the ones mentioned there. Better than doing nothing, I expect no come back from foolish purchases - but you don't ask you don't get. Heh. Anybody have any decent spare flow tested not gonna r*pe my soon to be rebuilt engine injectors Man.. why do I bother with fookin eBay ever!!!
  13. As Bungy says - flat battery - easiest one to sort Also... do you check your battery fluid levels, I forgot mine was a not a non-maintenance one once....
  14. Possibly dirty/corroded terminals on the starter (seems easy to get crap in there). Mine went exactly like this. There is a thread about refurbing the starter on here somewhere, I just got my friendly garage bloke to sort it for me for a couple of notes Worked a charm after that. (It could also be the battery, even if things seem good like the radio etc) Edit: FYI, in case you are interested: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=51682
  15. I checked the connection near the gearbox (the rear fog switch appears to be running off it) - and it *looks* fine sadly.. (I will get my tester on it when I can though) - new symptom, the indicators aren't working off the stalk, but flash when the alarm is activated - but I think that may be down to something else I have done... jeeeeees.. why do I bother trying these things in my spare time - it always takes longer than anticipated, costs twice as much as if I had paid someone else to do it and leaves me with something broken. Arse! Also - who thought it was funny to put as little cable/wiring in as tight a space as possible with sharp traps behind them!!? Japanese engineer sense of humour methinks!! Damn my fat (and now bloodied) hands. I'll check my fuses after the weekend now - no time left to do it, too dark and wet to go scrablbing around the footwell of the car with no garage to cover me.
  16. Bumpety bump... just had this happen to me. I have been refurbishing my heater unit to allow for illumination, it all seemed to be ok (I tested it a few times before slapping it all back together). I plug everything back into the dash and whammo - no illumination works... haven't had a chance to track down the fuses yet - but sounds pretty much exactly what is going on for me! I put the lights on and the green lights on the fan speed control go very dim (almost look off) and the odo goes dim as hell. I unhooked the heater controls and disconnected everything from the centre dash panel, reconnected battery and re-tried - all still fooked - so think I have killed something - hoping it is a fuse!
  17. Err, I have been told I gotta lose some weight (I have gained sooo much this last year and a half)... so to share my pain and shame! Height: 5'7" (give or take a cold day ) Weight: 14 stone 10lb (this may be more by the end of new years ) Chest: 44-46" (I think, will get the missus to measure later) Waist: somewhere between 36-38 (I can still fit into some of my 36" troos, but some are tight ). Ideal weight: 12st 7lb, so need to lose 2 stone... (about 13-14Kg?).
  18. Many happy returns of the day Amigo
  19. I think I managed to ram approx 65 litres into a JSpec tank when it was on the lowest I have dare run it (more than likely a bit in the tank, bot not too much I belive). I guess time of year you do it may make a difference
  20. mysqldump is quickest and easiest I believe (well it is what I do here anyway). mysqldump -u user -h host database > databasedump.sql lots of funky options with that too, but to restore you simply have to either drop your db and recreate from the mysql instance, then from the command line something like: mysql -u user -h host (depending on specifics of your setup)
