  1. I have been with Natwest since 1993, not really done much wrong by me and anything they have ever charged me they have refunded quick sharp with a short sharp note in their shell like. Like a lot of things though, you can have the most wonderful experience ever with something, recommend it highly and the next person that takes you up on your recommendation has the most rum deal on the planet!! Just one of those things
  2. I would have to agree with Jake, I guess more gears means more likely to have the car doing a better RPM/speed. You the driver can probably judge more efficiently, using 5/6 gears which ones will pooter you around town better than the 3+OD on an Auto can ever give you/determine for itself.
  3. 170 on a quiet M road doesn't bother me so much. The w*anker that drove past me in an R reg BMW M3 today at about 70 in a 30 with a queue of traffic between him and where I was heading and pedestrians crossing... hang that f*cker plz! He almost took out 3 pedestrians and a car emerging from a side road... Sadly no police around to witness that transgression. And as mentioned, it is free for all on prison - can't put anyone in the nick - there are too many 60+ widow grandmothers in jail that forgot to pay their f*ckin council tax or tv license to let anyone dangerous in the system! Judge: What are you? Paedo: I'm a kiddy fiddler... and rapist Judge: Ok, the system is full - you aren't so dangerous - you are free to go... Judge: What are you? Speeder: I was caught doing twice the speed limit. Judge: You must be burned at the stake, hung drawn and quartered! Heathen scum like you that bring this country to its knees!!!! Speeder: Thank you m'lud, most just and fair of you. Judge: What are you? Pentioner: I am old, and forgot to pay my council tax. Judge: Scum like you are why I can't afford to buy my new Jaguar XKR! Life in prison!!!! Not condining speeding like that, as it is pretty dumb, but I do think this country is all to cock with the way it deals out justice.
  4. Free bump and apology for hijack What was wrong with the manifold, i.e. how badly out of whack was it? was it snarling on something? Knocking the turbo into the dizzy? Or a complete mis-match when it came to mating the exhaust ports/gasket? Finally - what did you get to replace it? Sorry - just curious
  5. Blimeys it is misc buttons for controlling lots of stuff month Going to have to keep an eye on all this as will be needing to work some trick switching out for my AEM!!
  6. Nice work Amigo, tres cool! What's next? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/71/Interni2.jpg (When Dash LED conversions go too far ) ???
  7. OBD1 & OBD2... I think what is being said, is you are possibly clouding the purer side of the question - OBD is fook all to do with the model of ECU, you could in theory have an ultra modern ECU with OBD1... or an RS232(432)/whatevah! interface that conforms to some other standard. But as you say, things move with the times. I am guessing the Honda tunin boyz say - OBD1 = easy tune, OBD2 means you have the twatting hard ECU to tune?
  8. *cough* - anyone toss me their spare pocket change then? I love the shape of the MkIV, it hasn't aged IMO. Curvy, nummy, young and old alike seem to like it. Not too many other cars like it. New is nice to a degree.... but if I could choose New MkV or a *NEW* MkIV - I would definately want the New MkIV :)
  9. There are LED's behind each of my buttons (I didn't do the EL wire trick but went for the individual LED per button approach) - and they dim just fine as suggested. Everything that went dim previously under the control of the dimmer still does so, including the dials - they just don't go *AS* dim (then again I wouldn't want it to go as DIM as it did before as I couldn't see much).
  10. The dimmer switch still functions even with the LED conversion.
  11. The reason a lot of NA's are *likely* to be off spec BHP wise with factory figures is due to age and lack of "proper" servicing. Same can happen with any car as it gets older People in the UK don't spend as much time and attention on "tuning" their NA's (unless you count NA-T lot, or NOS enthusiasts) and are not so acutely aware of a few horses here or there - I blame the "Buy a TT don't bother with the NA tuning" mantra Will get my NA dyno posted before and after conversion
  12. If an domestic one can do this carnage: http://www.whatjeffkilled.com !!! Then the Moggy is looking in fine fettle to me Also, I still bare the scars from my last interaction with a mental moggy... fiesty lil fuggers and I am like many many times the size of it! I remember watching my friends old tom see off a large Alsation, it was quite impressive when the bag of razor blades opens up a can - in all fairness if the dog hadn't been so shit scared of it after the first assault on its schnozz, it could well have been a murder fest - but when attitude counts, the cats can be pretty fearless and ballsy!!

    no joy

Just an FYI I think Prof Monkey may be slightly unavailable due to family issues he has posted about recently (something about a cousin deciding to do something unpleasant then going home and hanging himself). I have no idea what the other details are on this though.
  14. I actually think that the odos work on the same principle at very least (I know there are some unpleasant re-soldering hacks to get the m to light up on the odo unit rather than the km so assumed they were the same but have not set eyes on a uk one) - and are possibly the same units with two different shorts on the board? I don't think the idea was to do the conversion to mph using the odo!? Just to fault find? I would be interested any rate to know if your friends odo fits/solves problem. As mentioned the common thing to do with the imports is to just whack a 110/115mph face plate on the existing one (no electronics needed) - better is to get the conversion module [sC+TSD] from somewhere like Thor (sounds like you have one).
  15. Hot poop! I will mourn the passing of yet another supra Yet again it seems that the ole Sup is fookin good at protecting the driver! (Probably a good job too considering how ass happy they tend to get in moderately moist conditions). Great that you walked away with minor injuries... and still have your SOH intact
  16. Could be dodgey joints on the odometer, I had a bunch of these faults, went through the checking of the sensor - wiring (good lord there is a lot of this) - converter/delimiter (I know you don't appear to have this bit but just fyi) - in the end the odometer was removed and appeared to have some ropey solder points on it! Re-soldered dodgey looking connections onto the board (weird oozing yellowy stuff and flakey bits that looked out of place) - and have not had the problem come back since! Don't know if this will help, just another avenue to explore... As an aside, how do you find a non mph speedo on these wonderfully speed camera populated roads? (my friend had an MR2 with kmh only on it - but did his head in so he got it converted )

    iq test

lol - 136, but as has been mentioned, lack of time and sitting on the internet sort of invalidates these tests (although I was honest guv). Visionary Philosopher apparently lol. Yeah roight!
  18. I much prefer these that I obtained from Wayne (supradibbs) (I really need to take a better pic of em ): http://waptech.ist.co.uk/o_pics/mat1.jpg http://waptech.ist.co.uk/o_pics/mat2.jpg http://waptech.ist.co.uk/o_pics/mat3.jpg http://waptech.ist.co.uk/o_pics/mat4.jpg I had mats with a metal part to them, and they are indeed slippery when wet - not dangerous, just feel uncomfortable for the first few minutes when driving!

    Diet Advice

Spot on. The most sensible and healthy way to trim down. Less in more out.
  20. Look the business Amigo http://waptech.ist.co.uk/images/dash/dash1.jpg http://waptech.ist.co.uk/images/dash/dash2.jpg
  21. I only just found this *wonderful* chat thingy exists!!!
  22. I am pretty sure you can drink rancid milk with no other ill side effects other than feeling a bit sick cos of the taste/smell? I just drank the end of a 2 pinter that was 6 days out of date and it was fine! No lumps. The only thing I would suggest if you are suspect of the milks curdle status is simply dont cook with it or use in hot tea Usually ok to drink on its own or on cereals Edit: Always be suspicious of dairy products if pregnant though!!!
  23. Aye, there are a few bulbs to replace - just take it apart and have a looksie they are easily accessible and a quick turn removes them from the PCB. Not sure how much Mr. T. charges for them... you could always look to doing the LED conversion too (or getting one done)
