  1. I have what sounds like the same problem........pretty much had everything checked apart from the vsv actuators themselves. I'm getting these checked ina couple of weeks. How do i re plumb the car to run in TTC mode when i have the avcr boost controller fitted. Does anyone have any diagrams?? This would possibly help to diagnose the source of the problem. Very interested to see how u guys get on with this problem.
  2. my vsv's were checked by mark at pheonix, he also checked my plugs, coil pack connectors etc. The plugs have been on for about 10,000m and are irridium. gonna give the car to mark for a couple of days to see if he can get to the bottom of the stutter. was interested to see if anyone had experieced the same symptoms so i could give mark a head start on diagnosing the problems.
  3. Hi all, Seems like there are a few people at the mo' with boost issues on turbo no2. My symptoms seems to be totally different though. Its been with the car since i bought it over a year ago. It's a very occassional stutter of power/boost at around 3800-4000rpm. Turbo1 pulls fine, i get the slight dip in power as turbo2 is about to come into play and then it stutters.Basically a struggle and slight delay in number 2 turbo providing its full boost of 1.2bar. This stutter only last for second or two then clears and pulls normally up the rev range. The longer it stutters, the more sudden and powerfull the surge in boost is from number turbo2. It almost feels like turbo2 is fighting against a restriction or back flow and fighting to provide its boost to the system. Recently on one or two occasions turbo2 has failed to provide any boost at all to the system and my car will rev from 4000rpm up with the 0.7-0.8 bar from turbo1 alone. On another occasion this stutter continued from 4000rpm up the rev range without clearing as it normally does. It almost felt like someone was switching turbo2's boost supply on and off very rapidly. The VSV have been checked and so have the hoses. suggestions are its an actuator but can anyone else help?? Ben.
  4. and with the spoiler.......... very nice too!!
  5. http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/id/?id=99341 check this out. your TT will get to 100mph at least 3 seconds before his focus RS. 60mps at least a second before his. and do the quater mile about 1.5 seconds quicker and at about 10mph faster.
  6. do a search for quater mile times between the two.......that'll show u how they compare
  7. When you say hypothetically i assume you mean the supra is being driven by a ten year old!! i smell bull shi#'t, focus RS is about a second slower to 60. look at the power difference!! He is Front wheel drive so will have traction problems off the line. Its been proven that a TT is at least good for 160 and im sure alot more. I have been present on private test tracks when the TT has done 165 indicated and still pulling!! Slap him for me.........
  8. thanks for the advice guys........well i might just keep the 'active' spoiler in the down position and save the pennies and hassle of changing from a fmic to a smic. I honestly thought the spoiler looked just as low as my ridox but im sure your right homer..........only one way to find out!! Any idea how much it would cost to convery back to a smic with all the associated ducting?? also will the smaller air intake on the stock bumper mean its pointless having a fmic that is half convered up??
  9. do u have an active front soiler too lucas?? thanks, ben
  10. For looks id leave it down, but the reason im replacing the current ridox bumper is because its too low and i keep catching it. i wouldnt say my car is particularly low but the active spoiler looks really low.
  11. tricky ricky was this painted silver?? i thought they came black.......
  12. appreciate your answer scoboblio. thats a bummer. wondering whether its worth changing to a smic then but i really dont wanna lose performance
  13. Hi all, I was wondering if its possible to have a fully functioning active front spoiler with a fmic?? Id like to change my front to a standard bumper with an active spoiler but i currently have a fmic. Would the only option be to change to a smic?? thanks, ben
  14. thats not great!! so there is no way to have a fmic and a functioning spoiler??
  15. Interested in the spoiler and undertray too.......let me know if johnny drops out. will this fit witha fmic?
  16. thats great johny.........just had a thought looking at the pics!! will this mechanism fit with a fmic??
  17. tricky ricky, ive not actually seen an active spoiler so im not sure what it comprises of. I guess the plastic piece that bolts the alloy blade is fundamental to it working right?? Do u have photos to help explain what bit is missing and what it does?? also where abouts in the east are u?? if its not gonna be a huge problem to get all the bits that are missing from elsewhere then ill take it........what price are u looking for? cheers, ben.
  18. cant beat a scoop!! makes the car faster too;)
  19. Tricky Ricky im looking for an active spoiler to fit to my facelift fornt bumper........ could you confirm what it is you actually have for sale.
  20. Hi guys and girls. I have just bought an origional bumper and now im looking for an active front spoiler with all the bits and bobs like the ecu. thanks, ben.
  21. hi all, looking for a stock facelift front bumper with an active spoiler...... would look into the possibility of swapping it with my current ridox front bumper.... thanks, ben
  22. ha ha. problem is my back seats dont fold down cause of amps for my stereo.... shame cause it would be best if i could pick it up
