  1. As late as possible...........one of the biggest costs to an airline is fuel( no more running out of fuel jokes). Makes no sense starting the APU before landing. It can take 30mins or more to get to stand some days. Normally 2 or 3 mins before parking and shutting engines down is a good time to start to old APU uo
  2. It is not normal procedure to start the APU before landing so you can tell your mate to stop talking out of his ar@se.
  3. I would put my money on it being anything but running out of fuel. Unless they had some sort of fuel system failure which i doubt On the average day a 777 from somewhere like the far east will be landing with about 4-6 tonnes of fuel.......about 3tonnes of that being the legel 'reserves' minimum. a tonne equates to about ten minutes flying time.......
  4. Lol wayne say it how it is!! Chris your mum would know a hell of alot about the plane but only from a customer service and security point of view. What wayne is saying is she would know nothing at all about the mechanics and flying of the plane which is true. I'm thinking maybe they hit a flock of birds on final aproach and lost both engines!
  5. Faye is right.........it was a stationary BA plane that got hit by the sri lankan. See BA are great;)
  6. You have a good point Wez.........BAs lost baggage numbers are so high for the simple reason that they have more passegers going through Heathrow and Gatwick than any other airline. Heathrow and Gatwick are the homes of BA.........these airports are run by the BAA.
  7. Well im glad to say i wasnt me.........as wayne says its an excellent plane with an excellent safety record. The 777 is the newest and most modern aircraft boeing have made. As for lost baggage, thats the airport operator 'BAA' to blame.

  10. The american testing on supraforums showed that power wasnt as good on an inverse stagger set up. I thought that theory had been put to bed.
  11. It would be interesting to know why the max power varies with the two set ups. come on techies...... In sequential the second turbo produces the desired boost as set on a boost controller, i.e 1.2bar, where as the first normaly produces around 0.8bar. In TTC would it be reasonable to assume both turbos are now producing the selected boost, i.e 1.2bar and therefore more air??
  12. Does anyone know if i could get similar results to cheekymonkey with an emu??.......im guessing with the ability to adjust timing and fuelling results should be the same? R Black, as for max power with full bpu and stand alone AEM, a certain AEM tuner reckons he saw 460bhp on standard tubbies!! Im gonna possibly try the TTC mode with 650 injectors, EMU and 256/264 cams. I do find sequential very aggresive and unpredictable in the wet at times.
  13. looking at that graph sequential only has the advantage till 3500rpm, from 4000rpm the TTC is producing 80bhp more!! thats pretty damn good and sounds like it would have the advantage on the road any day. Might have to see if Ian would be happy to map my emu in ttc after all!!

  17. I noticed Whifbitz are advetising the Brian Crower Cams, wondering if anyone has considered these?? They seem a fair bit cheaper than the HKS ones? are they just as good?

  19. Hi all, I have just purchased an emanage ultimate for my jspec BPU. I would also like to upgrade the injectors at the same time. Will the emanage handle 650ccs just as well as 550ccs?? Also how good are sard injectors? Many thanks, Ben.
