  1. What speed did the spoiler used to go down and is it coming on at that speed? 68mph?
  2. The noise of the clutch rattling doesn't bother me. I have had it for years. My gearbox has gone off for rebuild. Will wait till that gets back then fit this gearbox with a std gearbox mount and then decide which box to keep. General consensus seems to be that TRD mounts make the gearbox sound like its broken... Why would anyone run one?
  3. Are you sure it's not the active spoiler trying to come down and getting stuck? It was a long time since I had one but it rings a bell.
  4. Totally disagree. I think they look great. Look unique and look good in that colour
  5. Hi Paul, I'm glad you have seen this as I was going to ask if you had watched the video. Please can you confirm which oil it has in it. Thanks Jon
  6. Nicely done. Nice and central too! Hotel or stay with family or friends... Shotgun crashing at Burna's
  7. I wouldn't recommend anyone doing this exercise. My amount is sickening! I could have bought a new RS4 for the amount I have spent. Excluding fuel and insurance!
  8. I once had a flat spot on a front tyre and it caused the car to pull terribly to one side. I did wheel alignment, changed suspension, checked pressures...nothing. Once I changed the fronts and found the flat spot all was fine. I never would have thought that tyres could make such a difference, cost me a fortune before changing tyres!
  9. I recently purchased a gearbox and had it fitted on tuesday. Unfortunately not all has gone to plan and the gearbox sounds like a bag of nails! I have been out in the car an taken a couple of videos which are not very good - Advice on taking a better video will be appreciated. The gearbox has a TRD mount which apparently can make it noisier? The problem is that I could hear the difference straight away - Very noisy compared to the last box. When you first touch the throttle it sounds very noisey and like metal all meeting metal. Its mainly obvious when lifting off or putting down the clutch at high revs. it sounds like everything is still spinning - please help as I dont know what to do. I have purchased the box off a member that said to box was fine when it left his car about 3 weeks ago and it now sounds horrendous in my car. Previous box - V160 J spec this box is a V160 UK spec (if that makes any difference) - The only difference is the mount. Its worth noting that I run an HKS twin plate which has always been rattly but the garage did not make any adjustments to the clutch. A couple of videos: Note - there is a noise on the video which is coins moving in the ashtray or whatever it is which is where the phone was placed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHk9OXSLXE0 Parking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fF67KAhoj5M For the record, my old box has gone off for rebuild and I wont be using the car till I know whats going on
  10. Interesting read. May pull back out and sand them down even more. This might be a challenge to bed in race pads on the road... Hmmm
  11. Urrrr, what about racing and showing off. This is ridiculous. How could you not tell me this before! If I had of known I would have put the car up for sale instead Cheers, will do as suggested - easy in this weather as the fun is clearly had at WOT rather than trying to stop.
  12. That must be a mistake - it says that must drive them GENTLY for 1000 MILES.....THATS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!
  13. Dont bite mate - there are over 100 people counting on all of you arranging this and 99% of people will appreciate anything that you put on!
  14. Any tips on bedding the brakes in? I started tonight and its not yet covering the whole disk.
  15. Repost mate. Already sold and more info on it seems it would be better being converted back to twins.
  16. They are a few years old from a 3G group buy. Not going to event consider contacting them for hope of money back and not got the time to send it back to them for their info. Too lazy Dicks arrived and fitted. Tonight I will fit wheels and test. Quick service for the supplier. Fingers crossed the new disks will last. Not the temperature guide paint. There are 3 colours that change colour at different temp levels.
  17. Auto or manual? I have recently bought both without TRD and paid £600 for manual (j spec) and £550 for auto (uk spec)
  18. Unlucky to the new owner. Looking like he or she has bought a polished turd. If I were the buyer I would convert back to twins which could result in a nice TT6
  19. I tried CW fast road pads on stock disks but found they faded. (with motel 5.1 & braided hoses). Maybe a sign that I am a little hard on the brakes. I now run CW race pads and they are EXCELLENT. The do give lots of brake dust off but cant really moan about that. bought from Clarke Motorsport - http://www.clarkmotorsport.co.uk I didn't get a deal but I didn't ask for one. £155 per disk inc vat & postage Edit: Yes - All UK specs came standard with bigger brakes.
  20. I thought it might have been that. Seems an odd things to offer given my signature Thanks for the offer - don't take offence. Im only messing.
  21. Thanks, after a little research I ended up going with these. I will try and remember to post up how they hold up for the benefit of the thread.
  22. Thanks, I will do that. Todays work - Ordered full set of slotted disks from Clark Motorsport Tonights work - Remove all existing disks. None have even got a lip yet and the rears are like new...bar heat spots and a crack on one of the rears. Maybe just not built to stand up to serious abuse.
  23. What makes you say that? For me the options are now mtec or arb. Would be good to know what sort of abuse arb have been places under and how they have held up. Assume grooved not drilled. What about dimpled. This is new to me.
  24. I am the 1st not to cut corners with anything on the car let alone brakes. I wanted an opinion of whether or not it was safe due to impending passengers rides in the car. Suggesting I am careless with people's lives could very easily offend! I am not keeping the pads to save money. But due to the fact that the pads are no longer made and are IMO the best available.
