deserved winner I think to be honest, but they were both very good. he wanted an apprentice, someone bright, enthusiastic, clever, keen, creative... it was the right choice I think. Just wasn't sure if he'd take the risk or go with the safe bet (Kristina) but you have to take a chance sometimes to make a difference

yeah it was a master stroke, played out perfectly - I think he's one of those guys with good instinct and it was spot on this time

Red aerotop with top off, gold wheels, going past Baldocks garage...

yikes that's awkward. I think the advice of a good solicitor is the best thing but I wouldn't fight it without a solid case and a fighting chance or you could end up worse off

I think the horse threw in the towel last week

jspec pads are a doddle to change uk spec will be ok providing your pins haven't seized up! (no pins on jspec callipers)

Kristina I think will probably win, she is a more level headed business person and very strong. I like Simon though, he is more creative and entrepreneurial, in that respect I think I'd be happy to see him win. He has what it takes to make a genius move (or maybe go tits up), if his nerves hold out. Both are deserved winners imho I'd never hire someone like Katie in a million years. It's ok to be a bit ruthless, but not to that extent. How could you ever trust someone who'd stop at nothing to get what they wanted She'd be no end of trouble in a serious organisation, not a team player, would p1ss most people who work with her right off in no time. I don't think she would have won, I think Alan picked up on her negative aspects as well as the commitment thing and thought he could test her out and get her to make his decision making easier - and it worked

tough questions eh? I might be an agnostic existentialist but I need to read more about it to know for sure lol
-
quite interesting (if you're into that sort of thing) http://www.selectsmart.com/philosophy/ some questions are quite difficult to answer and made me think for a while. I came out 100% Jean-Paul Sartre but I don't really know enough to know what to make of that. anyway, maybe give it a go

I bow down to peoples wider experience but personally I've never really been that impressed with ebc (but I've only had experience of red pads) good info there v8 killer will keep that in mind next time I need some

nice one dude, excellent price and good negotiation / bargaining skills! nice with the 6 speed box, hope you like it

excuse the dumb question and the slight hijack, but what's the difference between auto and manual diffs then? just a different ratio? just wondering what happens if you do a manual swap with gearbox and prop but not the diff, do you get longer / shorter gears?
-
if that's a tt I think I might cry lol post up some pics and let us see your new bargain

I can't offer a direct comparison but I can give the TRD pads a thumbs up
-
lol well I was just amazed he survived, although what state he is in is anyones guess. Must have at least got bad burns from it

I'm sure Nic will be able to do you a great price but the problem with discs is that the shipping prices can be a bit high as they are heavy. You could try that Steve Manley Toyota spares chap perhaps (do a search for his number on here) - he does discount oem stuff. are you sure it's the disks 100% and not imbalanced wheels or even a wheel bearing?

I have to say I disagree. Speakers are the number 1 most important part of a system. No other single component can completely change the sound of a system so drastically. but there are things to watch out for: no matter how good your speakers, they won't make up for a crap source, in fact quite the opposite - better speakers on a bad system just show up how bad it is! no matter how good the speakers, they won't sound good in a bad acoustic environment. Setting up speakers is an art in iteslf. but still speakers (and positioning) really become the most important of a system providing the rest is up to par

yeah you need to go and listen to a few pairs and see what you like. be careful of what sounds good initially might not be a good long term speaker, for example speakers that sound clear can actually be artificially bright and can lead to listening fatigue etc in the long term. room acoustics are important, but a good pair of speakers should be able to work well in almost any situation (when set up right) whereas a cheapo pair might only work in one particular setup - this is what you're paying for really, a good setup should sound good under all situations without ever having to resort to tweaking the bass and treble etc. I listened to loads of pairs. a 1k B&W pair in a hi-fi shop in brighton, loved the look but they were totally blown away when compared to a similarly priced entry pair of Naim speakers... My brother also has some B&W and on longer term listening they are a bit lacklustre Be care of monitor audio, it's well known they have an artificial frequency response to make them superficially sound clearer, some people some on long term listening this can result in fatigue as there are peaks in response around the 10k area. After a days listening in a high end hi-fi shop (with speakers for 100k!), I bought a pair of speakers based on sound only (never even heard of the name). I got a pair by a make called "Audes", model "Blues" and can highly recommend them, however they need a serious amp to get the best out of them. this sort of equipment is "high end" and it can be a bottomless pit of £ if you take it too far. get good stuff and none of it should rely on anything else in the chain to make it sound good, it should all be neutral and flexible. however a system will only be as good as the weakest link. Expect to spend some time positioning and fiddling with speakers to make them work with a given room acoustics. Never by speakers to suit a room only though, after all you expect a good pair to last years and work in many environments. If you buy speakers to work in a given room, expect them to sound sh1te elsewhere The only factor really is space and positioning. No point buying speakers designed to work a certain distance away from a rear wall for example if there is no way to position them like that in the space you have. Also no point buying big floor standers if you've not got the space etc. good luck

really sorry to hear that fella good news so far though, hope he makes a good recovery soon! my cat is always dicing with other cars worries me terribly

interesting you say that, totally understand where you're coming from apart from the exotic/expensive (in which case I'll take the Ultima GTR please) then something small, lightweight, nimble and fun like that is the sort of thing that might tempt me away from the supra one day. My affordable idea is something like an Exige with some engine transplant (that doesn't ruin the car) as a fast road driving blast - still those cars are not cheap yet which kills the bang for buck, at the moment
-
try taking out the two EFI fuses (30A green ones) for a bit then reconnecting to reset the ecu properly? also, have you tried to drive it to see if it goes away, they relearn the closed loop settings don't they?
-
it's really good to hear you say that and to me it makes a lot of sense too lots of people going for big bhp dyno figures with less concern for driveability and the whole package - then being surprised when they experience some other car that offers the more complete picture. I've come from the lighter 4wd lancia delta and this was a back road king, yet one thing that impressed me with the supra at bpu with j-spec turbos was it's responsiveness and driveability around the back roads - real usable power through the manual box - quicker than the lancia in all but the tightest bends (and in the wet). This to me was impressive and a real eye opener, and is one of the main reasons I've had a reluctance to go single. I think bang per buck this sort of setup takes some beating really, especially through the manual box. tbh this sort of set up is faster than I could want to go around public roads and I'd get more by learning to drive what I have than chasing more power at the expense of response and driveability. I guess at the end of the day there is always something quicker (and often more expensive), but if you can get the most out of what you have and enjoy it and still be quicker than 99% of other cars out there in something affordable and reliable (and good looking) then you can't be going to far wrong, can you?

I second that, good battery for the money and money well spent as it's such an important component. 4 year guarantee too! taking a battery to completely flat often will damage it, they really don;t like it at all and now one or more of the cells might be dead or dying (sometimes you can see this as they get damp on top when charging). get a new one and stop worrying about it PS: if it was completely flat it will take quite some time for it to charge _fully_ again anyway...

Looked nice, not too pink either was going up the hill towards crowborough cross (North) on the A26 and then turned right (East) into a side road, I beeped but was not in the supra (red punto)
