I mounted mine towards the back of the inlet mani, theres a 12mm just underneath, as advised by Ryan g. -
Sounds like something around your fuel pressure reg, check vac lines or leaks around that or inlet mani. Edit, is the aem using closed loop feedback, may need new 02 sensor or cleaning.

The stock oil cooler/modine is best left in place as it helps get the oil up to temperature quicker.

If its the first proper power run/mapping since the build then i doubt you`ll get a true figure anyway, not to sound negative but a problem always crops up and you have to go back.
