as i said i will try and sort a final date as soon as possible but the open weekend dates are not published until february so i cant really say until then! i know its a pain in the arse but there is not much i can do about it

That sounds about right... no, actually it was earlier than that- around March time. Was it Easter or something?

The date would need to be as far into summertime as possible for me. That way you get the long daylight hours and there is no road salt left on our UK roads. My car doesn't come out of winter storage until end of March and then I give it a few weeks to let all the road salt clear away.

So best time for me is going to be late May or early June.

Is this going to be possible do you think?

I dont see why not, it all depends on the dates they publish.

 

i have found out that the provisional F1 calender has it visiting the Nurburgring in May so june may end up cheaper in the hotels:)

It was Easter, I think it was the first weekend in April

 

I will contact Andy from Germany who sorted it out last time and see if they are having the same meet next year

i know what you mean but i dont really want to risk driving 500+ miles out there to find its pissing down with rain all weekend (my girlfriends parents live about 40 km from the ring and they reckon it rains non stop until early may!) plus i would struggle to afford it until then

How good are those hoverspeed thingy's at taking waves? Are they as steady as a big ferry?

 

I'm just wondering how much abuse a car would take on choppy water in anything smaller than one of those big ferrys.

(I've heard the odd horror story about cars being bashed around on boats with no come back from the boat owners).
