Pascal Wehrlein is missing the Chinese GP now as well. That boy is heading for the sack.

He missed the Aus GP as he felt his fitness was not up to Par, yet the reserve driver jumps straight into the car, does a quality job in Quali and completes the whole race without any complaints. He's now had 2 weeks to get onto of his fitness and he's not done it.

If I was Sauber I would be handing him back to Merc as not fit for purpose and going with Giovinazzi for the rest of the season!

Agreed. Can't wait to hear what brundle has to say about that.

I thought it was quite humorous when he was slating him at the last race. If he cant get fitness level sorted in 2 weeks with the might of Merc behind him he does not deserve to be in F1. Let someone else have a go. Its sod all to do with his accident and even he has said that. Im quite looking forward to seeing how Giovinazzi performs when he's had all the FP to prepare for quail. In Aus he was beating Ericcson until he made a mistake

Giovinazzi is the Ferrari reserve driver. Remind me, what engine is in the back of the Sauber?

Going to be intresting to see how far mclaren honda will be behind in china... it being a power track and having a number of mid to high speed corners.

Supposed to be more than 30kph slower on the striaghts then any other team.

Thats seriously embarrassing for Honda, I still don't get how its possible. They have free rain of development, if I was McLaren or Honda the second that engine was bolted together it would be on a dyno running race sims for 24 hours a day till something broke - fix that bit and go again till its bullet proof.

Its just not acceptable to get to testing and find the engine is unreliable, slow and that badly mapped its shakes the wiring loom connector to bits.

This season they have changed the engine architecture to one similar to Mercedes, i.e. the long turbo. But haven't had the 2 seasons development Merc have had. They can throw as many tokens as they want at it but I'm sure its going to end in disaster for the Honda project. Which raises a massive financial issue for McLaren as Honda give them free engines AND something like 180 million a season

Looks like the specialist equipment needed in case of a medical emergency has been moved to a hospital within

20 mins drive of the circuit so if the weather stops the helicopter from flying it shouldn't be a problem

Qually at 08:00 this morning UK time

Does anyone else think Bottas could be out by the end of the season? He was completely invisible today. On the other hand Mercedes would want to keep him as he seems very submissive and they know he won't challenge Hamilton.

He's only got a one year contract. Apparently Alonso is in the seat next season.

Saw a Hamilton interview recently where he said he was looking forward to a battle with Vettel this season,Bottas wasn't even mentioned as a rival.Think Bottas has a bit of the Coulthard syndrome about him !
