Have you confirmed there's a signal from buttons to ECU?

Was that ECU pin-out PDF diagram useful?

Did you check continuity from solenoids to ECU?

Have you cleaned the solenoids?

Have you checked that the solenoids are all functioning?

Did you re-torque the valve-body?

These things need to be done before fitting a new filter.

Not having (or really wanting.... ;)) any experience of these, but being mildly interested from the electronics point of view, surely if the car drives fine in auto mode, but the displays go awry and he has issues with using the buttons it won't be a solenoid issue, but possibly a connection issue from the buttons, or an ecu signalling issue that is not telling the ecu he wants button control? Oh for a circuit diagram to look at!

Checked for continuity: Check

Solenoids cleaned: Check

Solenoids all Click: Check

Valve Body torque checked as per TT ratings: Check

It appears that the manual mode has stopped flashing so fingers crossed the issue is solved..

If not I'm going to pass the car to John Hodge to check the ECU wiring.

I have 3 different pin diagrams some have the right corresponding colours some do not haha loving life at the minute..

But one diagram seems to match up correctly.

What's the answer for this one?

Was that pin out ECU PDF the right one?

What are "TT ratings" if they are not 7ftlb?

Did the bolts move or were they tight enough?

Right then so Today I got the New sump filter etc put on and all back together but as I suspected It has not cured the problem.

I would like to point out the Car 110% is reading a fault code 76... What the hell is a fault code 76?

David P- No I have not I dont have a clue how to do this? I do apparently have a mcahine to do it but lack the knowledge to use it...

There's no point looking on Supra forums, many of them don't believe the tiptronic model exists :D They never got them in the US, and there is almost no information on there about them.

as for the fault code, you could try emailing Toyota.

I don't think it is a gearbox mechanical issue though, I think it is an electrical issue.

Hmm, swapped the whole dash for what? (And why....?).

Another stock undamaged dash from a equivalent facelift model..

When Jurgen imported this car it had little pin holes on the passenger top piece that's why I swapped.
