Now when a start the car my needles are all out by miles and nothing lights up the cluster!! Changed the ignition barrel one too and that was fine but that's not working either!! Please tell me there is an easy fix as it's my daily driver!!

Swampy442
Also, LEDs have a polarity, if they aren't fitted correctly, they wont work. Also wont a red illuminated dash be really hard to read??
brom86
Tried turning them but nothing. This is what am getting in the drive way. Reving at normal below 1000 even though says nearly 5000
Kaan W
Did you solder the LEDs in? Perhaps you've let a bit of solder bridge onto another circuit on the pcb hence why the bulb doesn't work and your needles are wrong due to incorrect current? Take it out and check the solder joins. Graham1984
I would try and ask Heckler if you can get hold of him for advice.
The Raven
If they are plug fit it must have touched something it shouldnt and bridged
listy
Also wont a red illuminated dash be really hard to read?? Nope. Mine is red, and is just fine to read.
Chris Wilson
Put the proper bulbs back in and check all the connectors are fully seated. Quite why people think garish instrumentation illumination is an upwardly mobile modification, I don't know....

brom86
Right checked all new bulbs at least 5 of them and everyone was the wrong way!!! What's the chances so everything is all good with lights. Now it just reads this when running. At the back a can only see one wire. Unsure if it's from the old alarm or this is what's causing the issue. Cant see where is would go. pics below. Any suggestions?
listy
Did you remove the needles at all?
brom86
Yeah a did at one stage. I took them off again tried to re fit them but still nothing
Chris Wilson
Oh dear, you can't just pull instrument needles off and plonk `em back on again. They are preloaded against the stop by the pivot springs. You need either a LOT of luck or another pair of main instruments
brom86
Haha makes sense though. Any way to get round it without getting another
mplavery
Just an idea .. Have the needle popped over the rest bar by accident and gone round again which is making them read wrong .. Maybe try winding them right round and flick them over the stopper and see where they sit then
Shane
Use a sat nav and pick a long long stretch of road, monitor the speed on the satnav and hold it at a safe speed of say 25mph as indicated on the sat nav, then get a friend to push the needle back on the shaft pointing at that speed. It may take a few attempts to get it right, but you should be able to do it. as for the rev counter, let it warm up and then when its warm and ticking over nice and stable stick the needle back on at 750 ish or whatever your car used to tick over at. I did it this way when I bought some stainless steel dials from Konrad's group buy many years ago for my old NA. Took a few attempts with the speedo but we did get there. There is a more accurate way of doing it, but that will involve a signal generator and some maths.
brom86
Mmmm yeah ill try that. I know a guy who's a traffic cop may get him to calibrate me driving do it that way haha
brom86
Well fixed the problem. Ran the car and then put the rev needle on where it idles and it's perfect. Ran the car at 40 mph with my mate in front doing that speed then put the needle on. So all good now thank god
