Just renewed my V8 aero top with Greenlight, 2000 mile limit , legal cover, wind screen cover, courtesy car, £250 excess (£347.00), this with V8 conversion ,Brakes, import etc. Goes up to £389, 4000 miles.

Sky was £480. Adrian flux went up £58 to £429 this year not down.

Never heard of them before, and great to deal with, no waiting on the phone for 10 mins either. Mods not a problem.

Anybody else used these?

my admiral re renewal will be here anytime , been with them for years , footmans quote is ok so ill wait and see

I've been mainly with Admiral over the 16 years I had my Supra with only 2 excursions with other providers for two years total. I always get cheaper quotes online from the comparison sites than the renewal price quoted by Admiral so I always get the online price when I talk to them.

For those wondering how insurers determine a classic here is a definition from the AA insurance website:

"If you're over 25 years old, your car is standard build over 15 years old, and you do less than 7,500 miles a year, then we can help."

As a footnote there does seem to be a big downgrading of premiums happening at the moment. Just got a quote on my truck that is half what it was last year with no alterations on personal circumstance or available no claims bonus..

Just been quoted £166 LV insurance on a 5,000 mileage fully comp PNCD. Was with £100 voluntary plus £200 compulsory excess though. So likely to go for a £188 Admiral on £100 voluntary excess.

This may affect people but just asked for a quote from LV and they will not do Fully Comp on my 93 Supra, if I change it to a 94 its ok so they must have a 20 year cut off!

How anybody gets a quote of £166 amazes me, i'm 46, no points, no accidents, 6Yr NCD and live in a rural area, cheapest I get is around £500.

Do you live in Beirut? Or Bayroute as it is sometimes spelt on here.

We pay £280. Two x 39 year olds with full no claims, no garage but only doing 3000 miles a year. WN2 post code.

Live in the Chilterns! No idea why its expensive, just got a quote from Admiral for £540. I'm going to try and edit the quote and find out what pushes it up.

Nope, limited to 5000 miles, plus its garaged. they are all fairly consistent so it must be something they dont like, will experiment a little bit.

Just put in your postcode (WN2) and the quote was £590.

Have you tried Lynbrook or LWIB then? As long as you don't have silly mods (single turbo etc) you should be ok. My premium plummeted when I rang them. I also NEVER tell them what my best quote is.

LWIB use Markerstudy as far as im aware and they don't get great reviews on the web.

Very cheap cover though, i was with them for a while on my widebody, £300 for fully comp agreed

value policy in decent postcode

Lynbrook Swapping my mk1 golf for an N/A aerotop was a heady £35 more for the year. Less than £300 and I don't need to consume my no claims on the policy either!!

Your all jammy, with a clean licence, full ncb, garaged overnight, social use only, 3000 miles and all mods declared my bpu tt costs me just over £700 on a classic policy (though I do have agreed value) :(

Sounds a bit dear unless your not very old or have an iffy postcode

My Widebody on agreed value was £300 last year

i only have a NA atm but insurance for me was cheaper not on classic, it's costing my £500, social and domestic use i think, all but business. around 8000 miles, (driving everywhere in it atm) 3 years ncb,

mods stated including engine conversion to the TT engine, (next investment) and that's on admiral multi-car policy with my 1.2 corsa (more expensive then supra) and miss's fiat stilo
