I think i brought the wrong supra

Welcome along, dont understand why you say you bought the wrong car....its a Supra aint it?? cant be wrong!

 

If you mean your lacking the power then you should of looked through the F & Q's section and done some research on what you was buying.... other thing is ho much did you pay....another words you would be paying around 5K for a resonable TT supra so what did you shell out?.

Hiya mplavery I'm going to a speed test tommrow evening on the way to Newton Abbot I think the road to my destination is long enough for me to reach the cars top speed. I read that and I quote "Some J-Spec cars have had dodgy UK conversions; the speed limiter may still be in place

(which limits you to 112mph" from The mkiv Supra Owners Club - Guide to the Supra.pdf.

My speedometer reads up to 180 Which I presume is in kilometeres as its a J-Spec supra, so is it a fore gone conclusion that my J-Spec has a speed limiter on it?

Not necessarily. Some have a speed converter, so it reads mph instead, on the JSpec clocks iirc. Or it could have a 180mph speedo facia on it.
