Moving on! Ok this week I thought I'd attempt to fit the FFIM!

Here is a picture of the old NA inlet:

So I done a trial fit of the ffim to see it it would fit and all is good:

As you can see it looks Dam ugly with all them wires and connectors running over the top of the runners! so I was told I could run them under, so I started to strip all plastics off to try and give me more length.

It's still abit tight and I could really do with abit more slack to be honest but it looks like it might just work :)

It looks alot cleaner with them under!

Oh! And a big thanks to the guys that helped me out in my other thread about fitting this thing! David p, hodge, and there where a few others!

Nice work mate. What did you use to wrap the wires up? Looks like some kind of fabric tape. (Excuse me if I'm wrong I'm viewing this off my phone lol)

Hi mate, yep it's loom tape mate

Aka scapa or coroplast. If you type in loom tape on eBay it will appear :)

Cheers lads ;)

A parcel turned up today, I had some custom 3mm inlet gaskets made up from 3mm reinforced carbon slate.

Its quite soft so I'm hoping that once my inlet has had the face skimmed this gasket should make a nice seal (just incase it was still slightly out by 0.5mm or somthing).

And I'm not sure about this one but I'm also hoping with them being 3mm thick and made from carbon, that it might work as a thermal gasket, helping keep inlet temps down as it might reduce temps from the head passing through into the inlet?

Here is a picture so you can see the differance between the thin steel gasket and the 3mm carbon slate:

Yeah I had 10 made up as it was the same price as having one made lol
