Your not wrong there Matrin, I've came across numerous nightmare cars some from top tuning shops (now who are traders on here I must add). These companies call themselves specialists. And if a bloke in his garage at home with nothing but hopes n dreams is producing better quality of work than these so called specialists then there's something sadly wrong.

On a better note, I'm sure Jurgen will help you through all these issues dude, he's a good bloke and takes pride in his business.

OHHHH FECK, iPhone spell correction, that should have said "NONE whow are traders on here".

Sorry guys, my bad. Hope no-one was offended, complete mistake. I'll edit the post.

Hope this is just a quick fix for you mate, follow the advice given and I'm sure it will be. They are speaking from a good few years experience! And if you want to know just how hard wearing and over engineered these engines are, speak to JP!

Got my 1994 Jspec TT6 imported in January and ive had nothing but problems with it,

First the stereo worked intermittently

The lights would work intermittently

Found out this was the bodged wiring in the drivers wheel well

Sounds related, good that you got to the bottom of it. Unfortunately the price you CAN pay for a second hand car.

then the heater stopped working and it started overheating, Got the matrix and thermostat replaced. this fixed it for about a day and the heater stopped working again.

and last night drove it home which took 2.5 hours, just near my house i heard a loud bang followed by steam pouring from the back of the car, yet the temp needle didnt rise.

opened the bonnet and noticed oily water everywhere all over the inlet manifold etc :(

Hope its nothing serious and simply an Air-lock that can be easily rectified. Trouble is, most problems start off being very straight forward to fit however go unnoticed by useless mechanics until its too late.

Its a 1994 car and unless the previous changed pretty much most of the major parts in the car it will sooner or later require attention. Nothing lasts forever.

id say its rare to see a supra in that condition. ive had 2 TTs now since 2008 and both are inported. again its how theyve been looked after, my service history is 3inches thick. i find them the best car ive ever ever owned, really very good mechcanically. build quality is superb. i look at some newish cars these days, and even tho my car is 20 years old next year, new cars dont compare in quality. sorry but you really must have bought an abused example

parts you mention there are indeed ware n tear and would go on anycar, wouldint last 20 years on other cars tho ;-)

exactly mate, in my experience most after market alarms die at some point. but yeah things like crank pulley, shocks etc. youre going to be doing. lucky the fella who had the car before me has had this done :D saved me a few bob.

i know its all ware and tear which is why i dont mind paying out so much, haha yea its a 93 with 74 thousand miles so the shocks and crank pulley have done quite well! the alarm is aftermarket so we can tblame the supra for that!

Glad you found the problem mate.

Have to admit, to say all mechanics can fix every car is totally wrong. I once took my Camaro to a local garage WITH the workshop manual for the car to get a clutch fitted. He said "Ive been fitting clutches for 20 years mate, i don't need that". Got the car back with the bite just off the floor. Had the car back several times and it turns out he never skimmed the flywheel either, Inside the box to the new clutch was a great big peice of paper saying "WARNING, Flywheel must be skimmed before installation or warranty void". It was in red writing at about size 50 font.

Now i always find a garage that has experience in the kind of car i'm getting the work done on.

I've used Jurgen for my last Supra and he has always been really good and willing to help. I'd recommend his work to anyone.

Peter
