  1. Okay, tack weld the washer to the bolt head then grind it free hand on a bench grinder
  2. Can you not put the bolt in the lathe chuck, hold on the shank of the bolt, push the bolt head/washer up tight to the jaws and put a couple of small tack welds on the washer to the head ? Then turn the washer down
  3. How much needs to come off the washer ? Got your paypal by the way
  4. I'd pop it on a lathe rather than file it down !
  5. I'd be overhauling the brakes unless already done

Ouch !! My removal & fitting pain wasn't that bad, my mate who owns the local village garage did me a great deal with me doing probably 25 % of the work on his ramp cost me under £300. We had it all off and the new on in approx 9 hrs

I know but its not much less as i've just been chatting to my parts guy Their £900 retail for the pair and the op only paid £450 !!

Did you mug the parts guy at Toyota ? Retail their £450.17 inc vat and trade their £360.14 inc vat each ! Thanks for the offer but i replaced all the arms a little while ago which was quite painful by the time you added in the cost of removing all the old parts, fitting the new and then a full geometry set up.
  9. Give CW a call, he sells the seal kits and pistons for both types of mkiv caliper. If you have the smaller brakes, 2 piston front 1 piston rear the problem could be wear and corrosion on the sliding pin part in which case if their very bad they might not be worth refurbing
  10. What about black wheels but with a white lip ?
  11. White wheels, no skirts and lose the lip is my opinion
  12. Have you not noticed the stupid amount of camber on the front wheels, i bet that drives real nice let alone killing the tyres in double quick time

You had a result if you got the pair for £450 as that's cheaper than cost price to Toyota
  14. Its the wrong time of year to be hooning around but i'd get a ride out in a good TT thats running 1.2/3 bar, you'll probably not want the NA then unless your really not bothered with performance.
  15. What size are your wheels width wise, you shouldn't just go slapping on wider tyres in search of grip. The profile of the tyre will make a difference along with how stiff your set up is with regard to the anti roll bars along with the damper and spring combination The answer isn't just in the tyres, suspension geometry and set up are just as if not more important
  16. Pretty sure CW looks after one that's up in the 200's if not more
  17. I feel for the op and wonder what this owners club is about some times
  18. Over 200,000 miles Try doing a search as its been covered before
  19. Be wary of buying old cheap calipers as they will soon seize up just like the ones you have now unless they have been refurbed. If you have j spec 2 piston calipers then it could very well be that the caliper is sticking on the sliding pins as well as it being the pistons seizing. If your pistons are pitted then their scrap, if its only light surface corrosion then you might get away with fine wet and dry. You can buy pistons and seal kits from Chris Wilson While your looking at the fronts it would pay you to check the rears as they will be close to doing the same as well
  20. Toyotas comes on its own, if you want the other pulleys you can order them individually or buy a custom set like Rob Mitchell sells Some of the billet blingy ones will come as a kit, you don't want one of these full stop, their fine for the other pulleys but not the crank pulley
