Have a look in the traders section

    Radiator cap

Here is a pressure conversion chart. Some say 0.9 and some say 1.1

    Radiator cap

I've looked a bit harder and even though the test pressures are what i posted earlier a stock cap is 0.9 bar and not 1.1 bar Fit a 0.9 bar cap
  4. The centers colour matched to the red paintwork with the outer lips gloss black to match the top half could look rather nice and be different to the norm. Or keep the black centers and match the lips to the red bodywork

    Radiator cap

You need to look in the WSM, they are all on the home page, click on the repair manuals button in the top left corner and there is just about everything you need to know in several different sections. The cap pressure is 13.5 to 17.8 psi so 1.1 bar cap is ok If its half tap water in your system i'd personally bin it and refill it. To give an example look what tap water does to the inside of a kettle, this will happen inside your cooling system if you use tap water. Page CO-18 in the Cooling PDF CO.pdf
  6. Not sure on the terminals but i bought my battery from Toyota way cheaper than Halfords were selling them for. I think in Halfords it was over £80 and from Toyota just over £40 but this was a little while ago I'd try a good local motor factors, there's plenty in the West Mids

    Radiator cap

Well as the caps are so cheap, even from Toyota that's the first thing to change then just keep an eye on the expansion tank level. You shouldn't put tap water in the system, just get some pre mix Ethylene Glycol at the same time you get the rad cap, Halfords sell both

    Radiator cap

The stock cap i think is 1.1 bar so that should be fine but just check in the WSM cooling section Your cooling system has a leak somewhere but might not be the cap if the level in the expansion tank is dropping, don't use water as that dilutes the coolant and lowers the temp it will freeze at. It also isn't good in the water ways etc and a pre mix Ethylene Glycol mix is best.
  9. Good luck, i look forward to seeing the prototype
  10. You should get it much cheaper than that £4600 under half i'd have thought Who was that with ? Do a search as its been done to death on here but try LWIB for starters and CCI
  11. I have my doubts as to how this will look and just fabricating a rectangular box to drop over the o/e rad doesn't sound great to me. I await to be proven wrong but i'm not a fan of the st/st lid covers and think this will be very similar. Could it also do the opposite of what you want and actually trap heat around the top of the rad ?
  12. Speak to Ibrar if you want them powder coated
  13. Why on earth does anyone need 5,6,700 + hp cars on the rd ?
  14. Where ever you buy from do your homework, do your own hpi checks, read through the history properly and documents for the car properly, the amount of people that don't is scary. The ad says it has FSH, check through it as the handbrake looks like its not been adjusted for some time if ever. Take someone with you that knows what their looking at and look beyond the bling and paintwork.

    MPG seems way off ?!

Depends how your driving the 186 miles, is it on the motorway or round town, are you driving it like your granny or are you gunning it everywhere ? Hard driven you could get down to very low double figures on track and driving on a long run with no stops and in granny mode 30 is possible on an engine thats running sweetly and a chassis thats lined up, doesnt have any seizing calipers and your tyre pressures are correct
  16. If its not been changed in under a couple of years i'd do as above and put some Motul RBF600 or RBF660 in it, if you can get your hands on a vacuum bleeder its a one man job and very easy Don't have anything loose inside the car
  17. Whats the coolant look like ? is the expansion tank approx half full when its cold. Is the rad full to the filler neck when its cold ? Pop the bottom hose off the rad and run a hose pipe into the top and see how well it flows out the bottom, probably a little bunged up inside seeing as its very old. I'd personally buy a new o/e rad with o/e cap and at the same time pop a new o/e thermostat in it then re fill with fresh coolant. You'll need just under 10 litres for a full re fill and use Ethylene Glycol pre mixed, Toyota sell Cool Red and its approx £20 for 5 litres
  18. A great artist knows when to step away from the canvas if your bored Ibsta i'll bring my car up there and you can play with that, theres a few little jobs that could do with being done
  19. Powder coat comes in many colours these days The only issue is the one way valve and the seal it pushes into on the inlet side, powder coat is done at 180 C so that seal might not cope with that and might be wise to remove it then replace with a new one. You'll also need to strip whatever is on it off so a chemical strip in phosphoric acid or horrible nitromors would be req
  20. Fit a new o ring on the by pass pipe
  21. What about the steam at the back of the engine ?
  22. An original TT is the way to go
  23. I've only ever used them for radiators but always had a good job done and they've been going for years. http://www.readyrads.co.uk might be worth a call, their in Birmingham but doubt a matrix would cost very much in postage
