  1. Pretty sure the chromer i use does this or it could be nickle then chrome
  2. Polish the aluminium then plate with copper, polish the copper then chrome it
  3. Nope i'm not joking. God knows what you get for a £1200 respray, was it a drive through ?
  4. Supply and fit a new bumper and new wing, remove old bumper and wing, paint and fit new bumper and wing and blow into the door around £1k
  5. All the WSM's are on the homepage, click on repair manuals at the top left on the home page of the forum Look at page EM-51 in the Engine Mechanical PDF

    Boot rust!

Another mkiv problem area is the front cross member, these corrode really badly

    Boot rust!

Go and see Taj next door to Ibrar, he is a top guy with paint etc and just did the repair on my bonnet. I'd guess as long as its not too bad then its take the wing off, take the window out, repair, paint, fit new seal and pop the window back in and re fit the wing. Maybe even take it off the car to do it £250 to £300 plus the seal i'd have thought
  8. Josh42 has a super cheap NA engine for sale
  9. So they don't fit over UK 4 piston calipers without a spacer
  10. Well if i had an NA i'd buy it as a spare, its crazy how little these fetch when you think about
  11. Bargin, you couldn't buy the cap and leads for that
  12. The silicon ends and hose clamps are silly cheap. 76 mm long with 51 mm bore, 4 ply are £4 each from viperperformance I have a couple of pipe bending contacts, i'll see if i can get a price.
  13. I think LSD is definitely involved, those majic mushrooms have a lot to answer for I don't get any issues spinning up my rears and there old Contisport contact 2's which are just about legal, i don't tend to be silly in the wet or on greasy iffy cold roads, your just asking for trouble and most tyres are going to struggle to give you grip.
  14. Or you could get one made like this, can't see it costing too much
  15. Can't you just get a piece of 2" (50 mm) diameter pipe with a 90 degree bend in it off ebay and get your own silicon connectors, cheap as chips compared to what traders want Oh its vvti so needs a kink in it so a straight 90 bend is out.
  16. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/GT-Radial/Champiro-HPX.htm Here you go
  17. So you have your answer Never used GT tyres so can't say either way, their £100 each for 255 40 17 What tyres are on your car now ?
  18. You'll be fine if your replacing j specs
  19. What was your car like on dry roads before we hit the cold snap ?
  20. They do a twin set up as well lmao people actually buy this rubbish
  21. This is more down to the rd conditions and you perhaps driving too hard. Its possibly a good job you don't have a TT if you think an NA has a surge of power at 5000 rpm
  22. http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk perhaps Their in Chesham north of High Wycombe A few guys on here use them and i've not read any bad press
  23. I don't get why you car is tail happy if everything i listed is as you say, my car with twice the hp and torque that your car has is fine and i don't need soft compound track day tyres to give me more grip. I have new average budget Avon ZZ3's on the front and almost worn out Contsports on the rear. Did you ever get a printout for the geo you had done ?
  24. I doubt you need these on an NA on the rd. How long will these last and what are they like on cold wet roads ? i'd of thought they need to get up to temp before they offer their superior grip so are they a wise choice in the winter over a normal rd tyre like i have on my tt and have no issues with
