  1. All depends on what you want from the car, Jazz. Airbag suspension is great for shows. Coilovers are good for driving a car hard. In fairness, a Supra handles like poo anyway, but you have to remember, this is a GT cruiser type car, not a lightweight, flickable track car. It all depends on what you want from it. As for adding weight, i wouldnt worry about that, its hardly the catwalk, stick-thin supermodel of cars! BUT, any ride quality and ability the Supra does have would go out the window. Decision is yours, dude!!!! Andy
  2. Hey, Ben hope your well, mate. I did think about flushing the kit in totally, but wanted to keep some lines. The rear spats, for example, would have looked a little dull if I had chopped off the vertical part that runs up the rear quarter, so Ive kept the lines on the skirts to match in with that and make it all kinda flow as one. Plus, from a practical point of view, its safer this way! Thanks very much for the kind compliments, dude. I hope you like it as much when it's finished. Im just aiming for a straight, honest, clean looking example of a Supra. Nothing too flashy, lairy or in your face, just a true, good looking rocket! Andy P.S. Id be happy to have a go at yours at some point if you need any help!
  3. Woah, lots of questions!.... Okay, yep, I removed the brakelight, welded in a new piece of sheet metal, and filled over it to remove the imperfections. Havent had any troubles yet! Edd, thanks for noticing! So far, Ive removed the rear wiper, spoiler, rear washer jet, brakelight, badges, door handles! Think thats all! lol, one other good thing has come of this.... my boot struts were rubbish and wouldnt hold the boot open. Now everything has gone, it stays open fine! Thats £100 saved! And Im keeping it spoilerless, Suprastar! I would ruin all my smoothing with a wing I think! And thanks, Supragold. Its not nice driving a work in progress car. Im sure it will be worth it soon though! Andy
  4. They are Bomex sideskirts. LUCKILY, my friend owns a garage, and is kind enough to give his time teaching me to paint on Saturday mornings. So, I prep the car at home during the evenings/day offs, then will paint it in a Saturday or two's time. The car should look a lot nicer in a couple of weeks, as my lowering springs should have turned up by then, too! Andy
  5. Damn! Knew I had forgotten something! I will have to leave the window open I guess! Close though. Ive put a button each side on the scuttle panel (where the wipers are). I love the lines of the Supe, but the door handles really do look awful, so they had to go. Thanks for the kind compliments on the 'skill', too. Im getting there slowly! Still got lots to learn though, I do not doubt for one second! Andy
  6. Thanks, mate. The car is staying white. Going to go for a Toyota metallic sparkle (I have a feeling it's used on the new Avensis'). Was going to relocate the fuel filler cap inside the driver's door (Max Power stylee), but figured it was too much effort for not a lot of visual gain. Thanks for the opinion though. Andy
  7. After an Easter break away for a couple of days, I managed to put a day into the car today (God knows, she's been needing the attention for weeks!!!). The welding and filling is all done now (decided to get rid of the third brakelight, 'Toyota' and Supra' bages too) with high build two-pack primer on, just need to sand the primed areas down with a 600 grit paper, prime the front bumper, wet-sand that too with a 600, fit the diffuser (still!!!!) and paint the damned thing! So, she should all be finished pretty soon! I think I could get it all done in a day, its just finding a day.... Andy
  8. Straight line - Supra Track - S2000. trust me, Supras handle like POO! BUT their all out grunt is mindblowing! I love 'em, I do! Andy
  9. I was thinking more along the lines of a Fortune kit (modified heavily!) for next year's shows, but each to their own. Ive always been a big fan of their bodykits. Unfortunately Veilside have been a victim of their own success and 99% of cars with 'Veilside' kits are cheap rip offs which ruins the reputation, quality and exclusivity of the brand. Andy
  10. Now Nemesis have gone, does anyone know who the official UK Veilside distributor is? Has anyone taken over their contract yet? Andy
  11. Hey all, Just got home and wanted to say it was nice to meet a few more people and put a few more faces to names (or sigs, at least!). I hope to make the first Tuesday of the month a much more regular thing. Thanks again, Andy (Mr T) and Susan for letting me tag along with you guys, your car looks simply perfect. Im very jealous! Hope to see you soon, Andy
  12. I'll be there! Will be convoying with Mr T and his new tubby which Ive not seen yet. PLEASE excust my car though for looking like a lump of bodyfiller-on-wheels at the moment. Should be all finished by the time the May meet arrives though with a bit of luck. Andy

  14. Sorry to sounds dense but what is a BL 4"? Blitz maybe? Andy

    My New RX

Looks great, Shaf. NEARLY as nice as the one I built! lol Andy
  16. I have the Metal Monkey ones in my car too. Thor do sell them, but their supplier is... wait for it.... Metal Monkey! Cheaper if you go there direct. Their service is second to none. They are the most helpful upfront and honest company I have ever come across. Cant recommend them enough. Andy
  17. Depends when your 'part of the world' was photographed, then. I think its about 3 years old as well.... at least for the bulk of Surrey. I think its one of the best things you can get from the internet, absolutely love it! For interest, there is also a GoogleMoon and GoogleMars. Dont expect to see quite so many cars and houses though! Andy
  18. It can pay very well. My friend and his girlfriend have both been injected with an anthrax strain to try to find medical cures for soldiers... they have accumulated over £7000 between them for one injection each. Not bad money... Andy
  19. Wouldn't you have a heart attack before you hit the floor from that sort of drop? Andy
  20. If so, I really need to speak to someone! Ive done these before, but the solenoids Ive got (from a reputable dealer!) are crap, and are just not up to the job for the Supe. Need to find some real heavy duty ones asap. Anyone got any advice or contacts? Andy
  21. Sorry, Silversoop, but that yellow Supe looks AWESOME! Much better with the spoiler off. If he had kept the standard spoiler, it would have looked like evey other Supra. Aftermarket spoiler or no spoiler is the way to go IMO! Andy
  22. Is there any benefit from changing the transmission oil on an auto? How often should it be changed? Andy
  23. Managed to get my Bomex bumper on yesterday afternoon (and evening! lol) Not the easiest jobbie to fit on. The car needed a fair bit of modification to get her looking okay, but my friendly snippers came up trumps and enough car was removed to get her looking snug. I think getting rid of the foglights was the right thing to do. Cant see the point of them being there if I dont intend to use foglights, as it's just another part that clutters up the overall smoothness of the car. Ive incorporated my indicators into the headlight clusters as my lights clusters had two sidelights, so replaced one of these with an orange bulb and crimped it up to the indicator loom. Need to slow down the speed of the indicators and they look like a strobe now, but that can be remedied. Shes starting to look a little nearer my concept now! Just need to get rid of the door handles, weld up the rear holes and door handles, then I can start thinking about paint (the fun bit!!!) Andy
  24. Umm, I havent got any to hand. Will try to borrow a sample for you. Failing that, give me a few weeks and I hope to have mine done and will bring it to a meet to show you. Andy
