  1. anyone have Phoenix's postal address?
  2. I believe the BL61 kit uses a Precision T61 turbo, might be worth checking out Precision Turbo's site.
  3. I would say the noise gets louder, the pitch doesnt really alter.
  4. Ian, the noise is progressively worse as the road speed increases. However, all the gears work fine. What symptoms did you have when ur gearbox let go? Thanks
  5. Not sure if it is the box or the prop, I am assuming it is the box. The noise is more prominent under load.
  6. Oil is full, I just recently changed the oil.
  7. I am getting a whining noise from my gearbox on all gears. The noise gets progressively worse as the speed of the car increases, the noise is more prominent in 5th gear. All the gears on the transmission work fine though. Does anyone know what could be wrong or would can rebuild the Getrag box??? Also, is it safe to continue using the transmission in the current state? Cheers Adi
  8. How much r u looking for the airbox only if the filter is sold???
  9. I ve got 6000K low beam and 10000K fogs and they are great. I ve disconnected the sidelights, they look awfully yellow when the HID s are on.
  10. I think for those power levels the stock TT headgasket is absolutely fine, most people dont alter compression ratio on the TT engines as it is 8.5:1 stock.
  11. So would it be ok if I install a set of used valves from another engine? if so, would I need to change the valve guides?
  12. Recently I was getting my 2JZGE engine removed in order to install thicker headgaskets and in the process though that I would get the heads ported. However, the guys that disassembled the head seem to have messed up and I am now left with 22 bent valves. What can be done, do I need to get all new valves or can i get used valves from someone?
  13. Nic why dont u buy a new blueprinted shortblock and install it???
  14. Is there really a big difference in visibility if we (RHD owners) use LHD headlights. Cuz I ve already ordered a set of headlights from the US?
  15. 6spd getrag would be a better option if u want to run high hp figures. However, I enjoyed the ratios of the 5spd setup a bit more though. Especially if your going to be sticking to the speed limit.
  16. I read a post of yours previously in which u had stated that 0.4 lag time made the engine run smoother. I tried it, it ran a tad bit better but there was still an audible amount of misfire occuring. The engine also runs at a higher RPM. Is the way I have installed the Injector adaptor #2 correct?
  17. I havent made any adjustments to any of the maps yet, so not yet professionally tuned.
  18. I just installed the EMU on my Jspec TT. The car doesnt idle well now and runs very rich (with no changes to any maps). The idle is very inconsistant as well, the rpm keeps fluctuating between 1000 and 1200. There is a prominent misfire that i can hear in the ignition. I have connected the Injector adaptor #2. It has been connected between the ECU and Emanage (the injector signal going into the EMU from the ECU), is that how it is supposed to be done??? I have not made any changes to the maps. So ideally, shouldnt it run just fine. My car is a BPU TT. thanks
  19. V160 oil is not discontinued in the USA yet. I just sent a mail to Curt Aiger at Elmhurst toyota:
  20. So Ian you still standing by the IGT pin? I think i ll give it a shot and intercept that line. I ve spliced into the IGF line for RPM reference for the EMU. Ya the list is quite unpopulated, especially compared to the TT. But to my surprise, the few pins that the NA ecu has, it seems to be in the same location as the TT. For ex. the water temp, air temp, throttle position, MAP, injectors, are all the same pin #s as the TT ECU.
  21. Hi guys, I need a little help in wiring up my EMU to the 2JZGE engine loom. Before I hack up my fields harness I d like to know which connectors I have to connect for the MAP sensor and the distributor (for ignition timing control). Firstly, is the pinout number 62 on the E9 harness the MAP sensor??? I am not sure as it is labelled as 'vacuum sensor' Secondly, I m not sure which line I intercept for the wiring for ignition timing control as it says on the emanage that there is only a 'CH1 in' and 'CH1 out' that you connect to the emanage for a distributor based system. However, on the ECU pinouts there are 4 pins that are labelled as 'Distributor' and each have different symbols: G, G1, G2, NE. Additionally. there are also two pinouts labelled 'Ignitor'; one of the pins has a symbol IGT and the other IGF. Would be great if someone could clarify these for me. Thanks
  22. under moderate or hard braking the center warning light (the big red light on the RPM meter) and sometimes the engine check light comes on. The lights just stay of for a couple of seconds and switch off. Is there something wrong or probably just a loose connector pin??? Cheers
  23. Check this out, watch the whole whole vid:D
  24. no the propshaft will have to be modified. The ratios will be different too.
