  1. thanks Jake, quite a helpful post. does anyone know for sure if i will need the Left drive axle. i remember reading somewhere that one of the two axles is needed while changing from the 5spd's diffs to the 6spd s diffs (slight difference in the lenght of the axles). anyways if some one knows a good scrap yard pl let me know. thanks
  2. thanks mate, is there anything else that would be better off to change. for ex. suspension etc... cheers adi
  3. for some reason i am unable to post msg's in the "parts" section of the forum so whoever can move this post pl do so. i am looking for a Jap Spec Differential is working condition, if anyone has any for sale Pl let me know. Cheers
  4. HI, i will be doin an NA to a jap TT engine swap. the NA is a 5spd manual. so when i change to 6spd manual what parts will i need other than the 6spd gbox itself and its differentials. thanks adi
  5. Hi Nic, thanks a lot for the advice. anyways just though that i ll give u a background of the mods that i ll be performing. walbro 255lph fuel pump manual boost controller Greddy BCC K&N intake De-catted exhaust (i have an adjustable Fuel pressure regualator but was told by someone that in a turbocharged application i can only use the boost variable fuel pressure regulator) thanks adi
  6. Hi Nic, thanks a lot for the advice. anyways just though that i ll give u a background of the mods that i ll be performing. walbro 255lph fuel pump
  7. just out of curiosity, at what point is it necessary to change the fuel system in the jap TT (injectors etc). can the 440cc injectors handle a single turbo setup aimed at about 500rwhp. is there any way in which the 550cc from the export mkiv be fitted to the jap mkiv. what are the basic mods for the fuel system except changing the fuel pump cheers
  8. I have the following mods lined up waiting to be installed in my jap spec TT and am now looking for an aftermarket intercooler Mods lined up Greddy BCC manual boost controller 255lph walbro fuel pump K&N intake kit de-catted exhaust boost gauge A/F gauge so which intercooler would you recommend. i was currently looking at the Precision intercooler part number (PREC AS-1025) at http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/viewproduct~Toyota~Supra_93-98~~Intercoolers~Intercoolers~.html if the link doesnt work it is under "intercoolers" in http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com thanks for takin a look
  9. Hi, i will be running the Jap spec TT engine with the 5spd tranny and differentials from the NA supra. has anyone tried this before??? does the car drive well or are the gear ratios too short?? Can it handle some basic performance upgrades such as:- walbro 255lph fuel pump manual boost controller Greddy BCC HKS BOV De-catted exhaust K&N intake thanks a lot
  10. ya mate i m not doin it myself, gonna get it done by someone, just that i dont want to get ripped off!!!
  11. alright so say i strip it, what parts would i need to replace to assemble it back again? i know i would need new gaskets, (i think one has to change the valve stem seals if the engine is opened right) any other parts like . i was initially goin to go is set it all up then, check compression, oil pressure etc and then try starting it up and check how much boost its producing. anyways sorry to sound silly cheers
  12. i recently bought a jap TT engine from malaysia, still havent done the swap but just before that i wanted to know what parts i may need to replace or i could be expecting to replace. (have no clue how much mileage the engine has although i have a feeling it is from an accident car) cheers adi
  13. Ya mate, its gonna be some bit of work. well i really dont know if that 5spd is going to handle that torque (although i have read in places that it is reliable up to 500bhp crank and the jap spec TT only would put about 400 max with stock twins) and running the NA diffs also, well atlest until i find a 6spd tranny and diffs. my car is a hardtop. will get some pics of it up when i do the swap. cheers!!!
  14. thanks a lot for all the response. basically just wanted to give you'll some idea of what i m doing. I am doing a NA to TT engine swap but running the W-58 5spd transmission from the NA as the TT engine is and auto tranny. (but i ve got a set of manual ecu and wiring loom separately) the following mods i will be performing are: 255lph walbro pump manual boost controller de-catted exhaust (well got to think carefully about that now) Greddy BCC HKS SSQ blow off valve NGK iridium spark plugs (not sure yet as i dont know if the one i already got would fit the TT) A/F gauge Boost gauge (manual not electronic gauge) thanks adi
  15. Thanks mate, so suppose i run 3 inch down pipes, approximately what would be the necessary diameter of the hole in the restrictor plate. Cheers!!!
  16. Ok, i m a little confused about this. I read that a restrictor plate is needed when a de-cat is performed on a jap spec TT to keep boost from exceeding 1.2 bar. But isnt it the wastegates job to dump excessive boost? so when de-catting the jap car would i need a boost controller to bump up boost? THanks adi
  17. what are these CW restrictor rings and where can i get one from. thanks adi
  18. OK, now say i install the BCC, how would i know that it s working properly. what is the boost level where it is supposed to cut off without the BCC? thanks mate adi
  19. ya mate if u buy one from the US atleast it s the one for the MR2. that the one i got aswell. but worth emailing them and asking to make sure.
  20. NA's cant burn 235/50/17 so definately aint gonna burn 255's. i really cant think of any possilbe problem except wheel balancing. but just make sure that ur supplier isnt giving you all the old stock of tyres.
  21. i was just wanting to install the greddy BCC and was lookin at http://www.mkiv.com for the instructions. when i was reading the the part "BCC wire clarification and notes" under: http://www.mkiv.com/main/index.html it says that only one wire is needed to be cut in the wiring loom. but when u read on and move to the next page: http://www.mkiv.com/main/index.html it tells u to splice 3 different wires. i m a little confused so pl help. if any of you ll have a detailed picture of the installation it will help thanks a lot adi
