    cold weather

Ok what might seem like a stupid question for some of u experts, but here goes…… Is it normal for the engine to be much noisier than usual on cold start in this freezing weather? It seems to be a bit rattley and squicky until it is warm (I think it’s the cam belt making this high pitch sqeekyness, not sure about rattley-ish noise) ?? Incase you hadn’t noticed im a very technical supra owner??? Rattley-ish + sqeeky noise??? Sorry don’t know much about engines.
  3. are you some sort of racing driver nic:rtfm:
  4. how high miles are you talking nic.......as my m8 thinks @ 70k is over the hill:innocent: ??
  5. i think modyifying is one thing he wont be doing he wants to keep it pretty much standard apart from a decat......... this is true serviceing every 6000k is more reguler than his coupe (which i think he said was every 8-10k), but i saw the bill from hyundai on his last service and it was over £300!!........... i get my suup serviced with phoenix (great peeps by the way) and mine is never that much!? i think the main worry for him will be the petrol price (suup = thirsty beast), and well as for insurance i thinlk he is mad!, he must be with the wrong company cos he is paying around £1500 for his insurance, i have 1 yr ncb and paying £1100 MADNESS!!!
  6. Ok peeps, I am trying to convince my m8 to get a supra ( uk spec ) (and join the club) …………… and he has a few questions and worries:blush: , (which I have already ansewed but he wants others opinions!??, I will print this post off and show him your ansews) Right a bit of info firstly: He is 22 and owns a black Hyandai Coupe? , (don’t laugh he actually loves this car) it has done 20,000 miles an is in pretty good nik!, he reckons he can get about £11.5-12k for it…………. my argument is that he could drive a SUPRA at no extra cost and maybe even save money!, (about 10k for a low mileage, stock, uk spec + 1-2k for insuance!!)…..AND OF COARSE HE WILL THEN HAVE A SUPRA!! in my opinion far better than a hyandai. And he is a big fan of jap cars especially the supra (never thought he could afford one)……… so why not go for it is my question to him!!?? But his main worry is this…………lol! Wait for it……………………… He thinks a supra could be a unreliable super car!!!!?????????….. I just laughed an said well try getting a lotus then????!!! LOL!!!!!…..and also explained that a full service history supra, an well looked after is probly one of the most reliable cars you can get…almost bullit proof!! His other worry is that the servicg prices will hit the roof…….. The car he is looking at (a uk tt) has a full toyta serv. Hist, is on 70k (which he thinks is high mileage??)……and is completely stock, and is up for £9995. Ive told him what to do…….. Can you guys/girls give him an opinion too p.s. sorry for the long pos
  7. come on guys lets not start this j-spec - UK spec spec, argument again ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ as all you J-spec owners know the UK spec is much better

    supra prices

not sure i agree with that one, from my experiance a stock suup will attract alot more buyers + a higher price, i know it seems stupid but when you spend ££££'s on mods the price seems to drop:shrug:

  18. i done that the day i picked up my suup, alloys were near perfect.... till i went for a bit of the old bp ultimate:swear: , why are those kerbs so f'ing high:rtfm:
  19. look no further than m8!!, i have tried a few others that i wern't to impressed with (no name dropping). But these guys are good and they arn't strangers to the supra to say the least!, i know they do quite a few guys on this forum and when i first went to there premises they had 3 suups there.Nice & honest guys
  20. well blackcat i did think about the pink with chromes:limp: i think gunmetal is what im gonna do:yes: , car should look crisp, what needs to be done for the engine bay to be sprayed (ie what needs to come out). thanks trd3000 i will contact gvn when come round to getting the spray done, i take it you have used them befor?? (need a really good place cos obviously i want to get a fualtless job done) im still a bit curiuos about the value dropping cos when i think about it, if i was buying i would be very worried about a car that has had a full respray
  21. ur thoughts are much the same as mine peeps gunmetal grey or black is the way to go!!, is that price of £2200 to paint the enginge bay too??? i think at the end of the day its all gonna boil down to how much the car will devalue?? i think spraying the car will keep more value if sprayed in a colour it origionally came in...i think?? rather than the gunmetal that uk's wernt available in what ya reckon
  22. right guys.../ girls, i have a silver uk suup an personnaly i find the colour a bit boring, i am thinking of a full respray, but into a stock colour (black, storm blue, red), or maybe the gunmetal grey some of the imports come in (luuuuvvvly colour!!!, by far the nicest i think!) Firstly will a respary into another UK colour devalue the car in a big way??, secondaly how much would a full respray cost, windows out, shuts, engine bay etc.... £2000 ish?? or any colour suggestions welcome (not a fan of the outragious in ur face colours thoguh) cheers
