  1. It may be "nice" to take the money and walk away and forget about it, until the morning when you spot the inside of the boot is crumpled and its going to cost you a couple of grand:rolleyes: and as for the "whiplash shenanigans" real whiplash is bloody painful and can take a while to heal! so get it checked, doctors can tell if it the real thing, and its better safe than sorry, also inform your insurance company anyway, you can just tell them that unless you inform them otherwise, any claim will be dealt with by the other partys insurance, then at least your covered.
  2. I'm sorry to say that it doesn't take a great deal in the way of impact to stuff the hard bits underneath soft bits of the car! you need to look ASAP my s14 was hit in the back at very low speed and the bumper was trash and the boot was pushed in, and just the trim clips were over £30, also get your lady checked by a doctor, my wife suffered really bad whiplash from that, she won't feel it to much until the next day or so, it took my wife six weeks of physiotherapy to sort it out, sorry:(
  3. Pissed off i had to miss this one something came up at the last minute, looks like a good one.
  4. One thing that baffles me about the 2JZ engine is the low rev limit? its an in line six good dynamic vibration cancellation, its has square bore and stroke and has solid valve lifters, so why the hell is the RPM limited to 6800?? even the SR20DET which is four pot and has hydraulic lifters + rocker arms still manages 7400 rev limit.
  5. Two day battery life! what sort of use is that with? and is the screen easy to read in full sun?
  6. Is the camera any good? supposed to be 3 mega pixel.
  7. True, but is it down to oil pressure or crankcase pressure? i am now subscribing to the oil pressure cause now, since mine went, and i also think that running oil level right to the top of the max mark is a contributing factor. Oh there is also drilling and tapping three to seven small screws around the seal and using washers to overlap the seal to prevent it popping out, but that still will not stop the inner lip failing like mine did.
  8. AFAIK you can't use it on a distributer motor, at least not the timing map, as it intercepts the timing pulses to the igniter's/coils.
  9. Got any speculations as to why it went?
  10. Oh dear! thers always one:rolleyes: now edited to put off the odd sense of humour brigade:)
  11. Anyone have one? and what are they like?
  12. TBH i don't know which ones they are, came with the car, take a look below.
  13. I was surprised how light my Ray's multi spoke wheels where when i first took them off.
  14. One type are known as HiJoin 147 but there are several different names all made by the same manufacture, i had a set on my old S14 nice wheels but heavy.
  15. Its just a shame that he seems to have an eight speed box though:p listen to the number of up changes;)
  16. You really need the injector much further away from the throttle, the best position is in the intercooler outlet, that way you get the maximum water dispersion and charge cooling effect.
  17. Going to be brutally honest! i went from my 335BHP Nissan S14 to my six speed TT and initially found it slower, the gearbox is clunky/notchy and in general hard to get used to, the steering is on the slow side, but despite all this it has grown on me, i love the looks and the exhaust note is great, now its decatted i can feel its potential for power.
  18. Anyone have a spare LH one or a pair?
  19. Has the cossie got an AFM? if so it probably the wrong type of DV, it should be a twin piston for use with an AFM, if not it will run rough and try to stall.
  20. Dam i though it had two output maps, wouldn't it only have to switch two VSVs to affect spool up? how about using the Vtec output?
  21. After reading something on another forum, it got me thinking about a possible use for one of the features of the ultimate, when i tried using it on my S14 (unfortunately i never got around to using this feature as i had problems with the unit i had) but it occurred that it has the ability to turn on and off the variable valve timing on Nissans and Hondas, using RPM as a scale, well the VSVs are controlled from the ECU signals, surly this could be bypassed and the second turbo output and exhaust VSVs be controlled via the Ultimate map, allowing the second turbo to pre spool and come in earlier in the RPM range to give a better effect, it wouldn't be like the TTC mod as the second turbo would have the chance to gradually pre spool, instead of having to compete with the first turbo for enough exhaust flow, anyone care to comment or give it a go? i realise that most people who have the Ultimate, got it for going single but i am using the blue with stock twins and may change to Ultimate.
  22. The best place to study is here http://www.waterinjection.info/ and here http://www.waterinjection.info/phpBB2/ if your serious about learning to tune using water injection, there are many conflicting opinions, but you will be able to read the scientific reports and facts, to draw your own conclusions from.
  23. I would start at 0.8 bar , water injection tends to richen up the AFR depending on what size jet your using, (and a jet of at least .8mm but i would go for .9 or 1.00mm) so after 0.8 bar will help if the fuelling is starting to lean up, also using methanol in high mixes only reduces the effects of water, IE the charge/in cylinder cooling effect, at 50% or over you might just as well just use all Methanol, but then its just an octane additive and not so much a coolant.
