    Meguiars!!

I afraid that I have no patience to clean/polish cars. I used to, but slowly over the years the interest has dwindled and been replaced with the urge to just go for a drive instead. Don't get me wrong, I do love the look of a well polished car but afraid that the "technics" for a proper job are unknown to me. WTFs clay, the only clay I know is in the back garden! Is there a bodyshop person or valeter that could give a step by step guide on how to use these products?
  6. "Red Oxide" as I know it... Primer Quick drying Garage Floor Paint .... International paint
  7. Tickets arrived safely. Thanks Matt. See you all there

    Old landies

What sort of budget are you looking at?
  9. surely red oxide is for priming metal! I've painted the floor red with standard concrete floor paint (it does exactly what it says on the tin) and the walls with couple of coats of white emulsion. Keeps the dirt down a treat and looks excellent.
  10. looks sweet and the wheels really suit. but have to ask.. did you change your side repeaters at the show?

    Old landies

I've had three series 3 landrovers in the past. Really wouldn't recommend the old "series" landies unless you're an enthusiast as seriously underpowered (except the v8 which is brilliant but very thirsty). The later Defenders are a different story and, as stevie_b said, the Tdi and TD5 diesels are the ones to go for as they go on for ever. TBO you're best bet would be to try one of the land rover owners forums for the best info though. You've just missed the big landie show at Billing two weeks ago.

Think I'm on a lucky roll.... First I won one of the Thor dyno vouchers on Sunday Now just got an e-mail from Santa Pod saying I've won the photo comp from Japshow Linky Right, I'm off to by a Lotto ticket
  13. Yeah, good luck with the test. You've done the theory and cbt before so know what to expect there. Thought about doing my bike test on a few occasions but, although I can see the appeal of bikes, prefer a bit of metal wrapped around me.
  14. Thought that you had to "serve your time" on the smaller bikes after passing test and working your way up. Has this changed then?
  15. Jay & Darkrider - There is an open dislike to Martin from some members of this forum which runs right up to present times. I have also thought that he has made comments on the forums which havn't been very diplomatic. With the latest round being over Dude, I feel that he thought that the stronger feeling members may have sought retribution. Seeing the culprits heading in the direction of the .net site and two members overhearing comments there would highlight the suspicion in his mind. Now, as mawby said, they may have been trying to lose themselves in the crowd and bits of overheard conversation could be misheard. Put all this together and, well, who knows Mawby & Ray - thanks for making an effort to find info. As to not releasing it due to comments being made, that would be your choice and you've given your reasons but do feel it is a shame Carlos - get a life! Do you really think it's cleaver jumping on the bandwagon and posting abuse when, by your own admission, you've never met the guy. :thumbdown When all this happened I was safely tucked up in bed feeling rather tired (read : drunk). I did wake breifly about 2am whilst Emma was salvaging the banner and listened to what was being said, thought about the cars but decided that damaging them would be a step beyond and went back to sleep. I believe Martin has recieved some info and is acting on it but don't know the details. I'm sorry to hear someone had their wheels tampered with. Were the wheels damaged or just (just he says) the studs? You didn't say when this happened but I would assume overnight. I find it unbelievable that this would happen on a closed site with just Jap enthusiasts camping. Not on the same scale but one of the GTR guys had his oil filler cap nicked by some "magpie" whilst his engine was on display. I think this post has nearly run its course but will let you know if anything else is found out. I would love to see the end of this bad feeling but feel it's a losing battle and as soon as it settles something else brings it to the front, either directly or indirectly. John
  16. Paypal sent for 1 ticket Thanks
  17. Paul E - first post afterwards and personal grievance! Noted Can certainly accept when it is toungue-in-cheek
  18. I'm posting this on the same thread on both Supra forums. I know there is bad blood between some of the members of the two forums for things that have happened in the past and these have brewed in the following years. All this "he said" and "they did" is IMHO frankly nothing to do with the forums and just perpetuates (sp?) the bad feelings. There are plenty of members who know nothing of the history and frankly don't give a shit. All we are interested in is (the reason we joined the forums) the MkIV Supra. There are also other members that seem to "go along with the flow" slaging off people because that's what other people do. WTF! Now I'm not saying that there shouldn't be any inter-club rivalry because there should but keep it in good nature anything else is just stupid. I found and joined the .co.uk forum a couple of months before the .net forum and have posted on both sites regularly. I've been to shows/meets with both clubs and met some good people from both. Some people on .net have called the .co.uk the "tumbleweed forum" which I object to. Yes, it is a much smaller club and yes the turnout at the show was therefore less as but, to me, this was part of the appeal and reason behind camping on that stand at JAE. These forums are for the enthusiasts to share thoughts with like minded people and to find out more about their cars and to get advice on traders for work and parts supply. IF (and I do say if) someone from the .net forum was involved in the vandalism of the .co.uk banner I would have hope and expect the Moderators to take a dim view and to deal with it. I hope that it wasn't and thats why I origionally asked in the posts for people to ask on other car forums as well so that their Moderators had the same oppertunity. The price of the banner came out of club funds and therefore out of the pockets of the members and traders that contribute to it. Personally, I would like to find out who vandalized it so they could pay for a replacement. I'm sorry for ranting on here but feel that this feud between the forums should be laid to rest. If people have personal grievances then that should be between them and not on the open forum. I dare say I've stepped on a few peoples toes and will recieve flack for it but before you post think about it. I welcome any positive responce to this post. Thanks John
  19. Always the few that spoil it for the majority
  20. I know there is bad blood between some members on both forums but I've met some great guys on this site and the other one. I'm not throwing accusations anywhere. I would just like to know if anyone saw anything. Faye's Brother - you may be onto something there.
  21. Don't use silicone spray on the dash! You can get some matt polishes just for this problem. or
