Just got back home from Japanese Auto Extravaganza at Peterborough and have to say had a great time.
Had a good look around this clubs stand on the Sunday and to Ray for organizing the display. Looked excellent with a vey good turn out of Supes. Well done also to the guy in the light blue Supra for winning the show and shine. I didn't get a close look at the interior but you had the car looking excellent and well deserved the win (especially in them weather conditions).
I decided to camp with the MSOC this weekend and just chilled out Saturday afternoon and evening with a few beers. The weather was doing that overcast thing were you get still get sunburnt if you're not careful.
Sunday morning involved a quick wash of the car (not quite to Rob's standards) and a go on the Thor Dyno. 493.6 bhp & 385.4 ft/lb at the hubs was quite satisfying (sp?) and should get even better once the AEM is fitted and mapped and the boost increased next month. The weather started to let us down around midday with the sort of rain that lets you know it's in for the day.
So was this the dark cloud over the weekend? No , I'm afraid not.
During Saturday night, after we had all crashed out, a couple of "fatherless persons" decided that they would attempt to vandalize our marquee and club banner. Martin woke up to see one guy on the shoulders of the other guy cutting away at the banner. When disturbed they legged it and unfortunately couldn't be identified. This sort of mindless vandalism, fortunately for the event organisers, wasn't widespread and the only other trouble accross the whole show was someone doing donuts in their car and a case of beer going missing.
I would love to know find out who decided to target the stand as I take the damage quite personnally as an attack on the club.
I'm also posting this on other forums with the hope that someone may have seen something I'd be interested in hearing. If you know any further details please pm or e-mail me. Also can you pass on the word through the other car clubs please.
Thanks
John
