  1. Bloody hell mate, that's shit. I'll keep my eyes out. Hope you get it all sorted with minimum hassle.
  2. How bloody shit is this? My manager messaged me on the office msn to tell me she is working from home today (my last day) and then sent an email round the office letting the rest of the staff know I would be leaving today and wishing me well. On the plus side, I fired off 12 cv's yesterday looking at various job sites, so there does appear to be work out there.
  3. Nice. They'll sound lovely on the Duke. If I had the money, I'd have a 990SMR in a flash - can't beat a big cc thumper.
  4. I'm agency working for Atkins at the science park in Moor Row. Most of the work is for Sellafield, but also other power stations. \,,/ >. It could be worth a shout, cheers. I'd prefer to be back in Lancashire, or at least somewhere that is close enough to drive to each day. We'll just have to see what's around.
  5. That would be a good career change. Shame I'm crap, not even sat behind my kit for about 18 month.
  6. The plus side will not be having to spend £200 a week in petrol & lodgings just for the pleasure of working.
  7. Besides a Lemsip and a wank?
  8. You certainly advertise the benefits of a certain citrus remedy and self gratification
  9. Cheers H. If I didn't joke about it, I'd be running around biting people. Or something.
  10. The joys of being a contractor. The joke is, I'm the only proper CAD tech they've got - there are 2 young lads who can just about fly AutoCAD and one senior steel detailer, but none of them are up to date or efficient.
  11. Just been given my week's notice. Lots of work in the pipeline for the company, but no-one can actually pay to get it done. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Anyone need a CAD monkey? At least I've just got the car & bike insured & taxed. MOT's this weekend.
  12. Well, Definately not Toyota at Lillyhall - they wouldn't even sell me a bonnet release cable 'cos I had an import, miserable gets. I used Wesyways in Whitehaven when my crank pulley let go and they didn't cock it up. Other than that, if it was more specialist, then it would either be a trip to Judgements or Chris Wilson.

  14. I'm off on a tour of Malcolm Wilson's M-Sport factory tonight Should be interesting.
  15. They have stopped doing agreed value for everyone now. I was on agreed value for the last 4 years or so and was told on renewal this time that the underwriter has stopped doing this. I've still got all mods covered like for like and stated the value of the car & mods.
  16. Brilliant! Top marks that man.
  17. Damn you, lol. Good job I can't get on ebay at work.
  18. Don't think so and a quick google didn't bring them up. It was probably about 10 years ago when I got the armour. Got the main parts of a TIE pilot suit, too. Just lacking the wrist panel and the actual boiler suit. I really wanted to build a pc into the replica R2 unit they did, but it was about £2500 so that idea soon got scrapped. Anyway, we seem to have thoroughly derailed a sensible engineering thread with geekery.
  19. That's the very chap. Yes it's abs, from White Armour many moons ago.
  20. I'll be tidying up the aftermath of my bike club's rally on the 25th, sorry.
  21. Just wait til you decide to clad it all in carbom fibre... I stopped counting a good while ago.
  22. You wouldn't happen to have a spare shoulder strap (the ridged top strap) for standard Imp armour would you? I've bust mine.
  23. Yep. Pour on a few tins of the stuff, then wipe the glass bits, job done.
