  1. Count me in, (I think you already have!), as soon as poss! I think thats at least 3 on this thread alone. Any chance of getting them soonish?.... yesterday would be good!
  2. Everybody has their off days mate!
  3. I'll second that. I tried to order Field harnesses from MVP and it took about a week for them to even reply. And that was only to tell me that I couldn't use their internet ordering service. It took 3 weeks to let me know that they didn't have Field harnesses in stock. I have now ordered them from Checker trading, who reply every time next day. OK they didn't have them in stock but they've kept me informed all the way so far.
  4. As far as I know, there is no alarm on a J-spec car as standard. The little dome on your dash top is something to do with light sensing for the air con apparently. So, I believe, all you have is remote locking only.
  5. Oh no, do I have to..... Is changing the diff oil something that should be done on a regular basis? - My car's done 40,000 miles and I have no idea if it has ever been done before.
  6. Iain, what do you know or recommend about the gearbox filter? Anyone know anything about the diff oil replacement?
  7. What's the correct way of checking the box oil then? - I thought you'd just use the dip stick.. Is there a gearbox oil filter? Any ideas on diff oil?
  8. Having recently had an engine oil change, I've been told that the auto box and the diff. need oil changes as well. Has anybody else done this? How often are they supposed to be changed? Is it true that there is a gearbox oil filter inside the box? I assume that whatever is needed can be obtianed from a Toyota dealer, but, as with engine oil, is there a better type of oil to use? Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for any feedback.
  9. Checker flag have replied already! - I'm impressed! AND they're substantially cheaper Field harness is 12000 yen, handling 3000 yen and carriage 4000 yen Total 31000 yen which comes to around £165 for BOTH mine and Grahams! (As opposed to MVP's price of $175 which is about £123 EACH - PLUS carriage! :o) LAST CALL... Does anybody else want one of these so that we can share the handling and carriage charges? - Anybody looking to fit RLTC or anything else that wires in line with the ECU.....
  10. Don't take this for granted but my car was recently SVA'd with 18's on it. With input from others on here, I have realised that my speedo is fairly inacurate, (about 6 mph over at 90 mph, actual speed 84) but passed the SVA test with no problems. Perhaps my inspector was having a lazy day
  11. This is the reply to the e-mail I sent on Wednesday, recieved today:- ________________________________________________________ The problem is that you are out of country. Our online ordering system does not allow online ordering from anywhere except Canada & the USA. The reason is that we do not accept international credit cards, only wire transfers. If you are willing to wire the money then I can give you a total & wiring instructions. Otherwise I’ll have to apologize b\c we will not be able to ship to you. Sincerely, Dusty ________________________________________________________ You might want to call them yourself Gavin
  12. I had my oil & filter changed today by a very helpful man at my local Ferrari dealership. Whilst it was up in the air I discovered that I had a leaking exhaust gasket between the 1st cat downpipe and the second cat. So, now seems like a good time to ditch the second cat. Is there anything I should know about doing this? Are there any problems or disadvantages with removing the 2nd cat? Is there a cat replacement pipe thats "The one to have"? (I'm assuming that a pipes a pipe but thought I'd better ask).
  13. Apparently MVP's website can only deal with US and Canada orders. They want me to "wire" the money to them and then they'll send it out. I assume that their term "wire" is like a bank electronic transfer. I have sent an e-mail to Checker flag for a quote as well. - No reply as yet...
  14. Nice pic's Andy... And your right... No cobwebs in sight! Have you got the indicator bulbs done yet?
  15. Graham, just to let you know, I have had no luck trying to order these harnesses on their website. It wont seem to do an international post option. I have sent 2 e-mails to them so far and had no reply. I'll give them a phone call tomorrow to see whats happening.... I'll let you know...
  16. As far as I know, my car is pretty much standard except the exhaust. It too, is an auto. I can definatly feel the 2nd turbo coming in at roughly 4000rpm but cannot really hear it. The exhaust starts to get noticebly louder at this point. If you select 2nd gear and accelerate reasonably quick, (not flooring it), and carry it right through the revs steadily, you/I notice the 2nd turbo easily. I agree with JB completely. If you ease the throttle down it wont kick down and doesn't surge as such either.
  17. Andy, yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing it... And hearing it after reading Phils post! Phil, Pic's would be nice 'cause I'm impatient!
  18. Graham, you're not too far from me, so perhaps we could meet halfway once I have the harnesses. How's Clacket Lane services on the M25 for you? Phil, you make it sound so easy! I think I'll attempt it while wearing a straight jacket, just to make it more challenging. Can you tell me what wires you have allocated to which wheel? (Edited by Matt Harwood at 11:08 am on Feb. 3, 2002)
  19. Already looked.... But at least there's only 4 to tap into Graham, whereabouts in the country are you? I'll order them on Monday, so if anybody else wants one.... Shout now!
  20. I now have the utmost respect for anyone that has fitted TC without one. I spent about 15 minutes looking at the cables and trying to get a bit more slack.... Then gave up. There was no way I'd attempt cutting cables with so little play and in such an awkward area. Besides, if I get a Field connector, I wont need to fiddle around with those small DIY pins/plugs. Thanks for the info Phil, without it, I wouldn't have known such a thing existed.
  21. Well, that suits me. I want to install RLTC now and although I wouldn't say I'm a big bloke, I don't fancy scrabbling around down there. Must be bloody difficult to make a neat job of all those connections. How soon do you want to get it Graham? - Next week? Does anybody else want one?
  22. And if you have ever looked at the limited space and tight cables going to the ecu and then think about cutting/joining 6 injectors, (12 connections in and out), you can see why they're appealing. How many people are interested in getting one of these? Perhaps we can save a bit of money on the overseas carriage.
  23. Does anybody know how to find out when a car was made? I bought my Supra as a 94 on an L with a possibility that it could have been an M plater. I've been sent the log book from DVLA and it states "declared registered 1993"... I have found a label in the boot area with a load of numbers and a date showing 94/10/02. Unfortunately, I can't read Japanese so I dont know what it's for. But if the date format is yy/mm/dd then I should have an M reg right? Any ideas?
