  1. Yeah apologies, no offence intended - but we do get some classics on here....!
  2. Dunno how much you want to spend on suspension, but I would highly recommend the Whiteline kit if you want to go the "whole hog" - for about £700/£800 you get absolutely everything, including anti-roll bars, bushes etc and it makes the Supra a different car! ...and no I'm not on commission!
  3. I only read the first two paragraphs and stopped!!
  4. Cost via JIC, £160. Cost direct, £160 + VAT.
  5. Apart from being 2 1/2 year old, curb-scarred, charcoal-grey and 16"s, nothing... Spit and Polish have a website http://www.spitandpolish.co.uk but it may be worth speaking to JIC as they put it through their business and I paid them cash (thus bypassing VAT) - I didn't tell you that though I thought I had a before pic but can't seem to find it right now, but here's a spanking new refurbed wheel the day I picked the car up: http://www.mpaconsultancy.co.uk/supra/wheelrefurb.gif I have a higher res pic which I can send you if you like.. HTH, Mark.
  6. Raoul, 'bout time you had those wheels sorted! I had all four of mine done by Spit and Polish recently, organised through JIC - it came to £160 and they did a very good job IMO. Plus I'm sure JIC could lend you a set whilst yours are away (did for me). I have some pics if you want to see the quality of their work.... Cheers, Mark.
  7. I wouldn't have thought holes like that would be filled with "filler", they should be either soldered or welded... If they're done with P38 or something ( ) then yes, you may well have problems later on with it cracking/splitting. Someone more knowledgable will be along soon I'm sure...!
  8. Hi, and welcome! Try looking here: http://www.whifbitz.co.uk/mycar.htm
  9. I can pop my interior light off tomorrow and have a look for you if you like - off to bed now!
  10. mm-hmm, uh-huh - yep, I know exactly what you're talking about
  11. aha - see here: http://supra.highspeedhostinggroup.net/public_html/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2355
  12. Oh and the thing about the spraying rather than dripping - I had a fuel leak from my FSE valve once where it dripped rather than spurting out - it was due to a blanking nut not being tight enough, therefore a very small amount was getting through.
  13. I think the trouble is that it is not always there, so its impossible to trace - I guess the answer may be to try and locate the source as soon as the smell is present...?
  14. Posting this on behalf of PaulE who can't get to the BBS at the moment: He has noticed an intermittent petrol smell coming from (possibly) the drivers' side - originally wondered whether this was anything to do with the carbon filter thing ("What's This" thread) which vents to atmosphere, but that is on the passenger side. Definitely a petrol smell, not fumes - apparently someone has suggested maybe a leak from a manifold or gasket? Any ideas people?
  15. Oh and Lee - you kept quiet about those big twins
  16. Found my thread as well now: http://supra.highspeedhostinggroup.net/public_html/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94&highlight=whats+this
  17. I asked that exact same question a while back - can't find the thread now but I found another thread about it: http://supra.highspeedhostinggroup.net/public_html/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=615&highlight=carbon+filter Although the item you've circled looks the same, its on the left side of the bonnet and not the right, so it may be something completely different!
  18. Thanks for all the info chaps! I'm having the work done at Justin's workshop on wednesday - but I now know that I haven't got a resistor pack with my injectors, so I'm going to need to get hold of one from somewhere I guess! Any ideas anyone?
  19. I've just looked at the stuff I've got in my garage - is the resistor pack a cylindrical shaped object with a sort of plastic thing coming from it which feels like its got springs in it? Or is that the fuel pump? ...can you tell that I'm not very knowledgable on these things...?
  20. Thanks, I'm beginning to understand it now - so am I right in thinking that assuming I have the AFC set up correctly I'll be alright for the moment, but an ECU would be a good move in the near future? What is a "resistor pack"? I'm not sure what I've got to be honest, all I know is I bought a set of 550cc injectors!
  21. I'm having 550cc injectors and a UK fuel pump fitted next week, so I'm going to need my AFC set up correctly - Justin's going to put some basic settings in but I understand I need to get to a rolling road to have it done properly? Firstly, does anyone know of a good rolling road, location, price, and whether they can sort the AFC? Also, I did contact Tuning Japanese who reckon they can do it, but they guy said this: Now I don't completely understand all this fuelling business, but I thought that the AFC controls the fuelling (to an extent) so I won't necessarily need a new ECU just yet? Any advice/comments appreciated! Cheers, Mark.
  22. I've just fitted the Halfords (I know, I know) "Laser Blue" bulbs and, although not really like the HID kit, are a great improvement over the standard "yellow" lights on the Supe. Haven't seen them from the outside though, so not sure if they have that blue effect to them or not....
  23. Following on from my Apexi thread, does anyone know anything about the "scramble" function on the AVC-R? I know what it does and can pretty much work out how to set it up on the AVC-R but apparently (according to the not-very-helpful manual) you need to connect an external switch to the unit, which triggers the function? Any help much appreciated.... Cheers, Mark.
  24. Yep, that's a lot more useful than the Apexi manuals! Thanks for that. The bit about start duty is useful - most of the time the peak-hold indicator doesn't go over what I've selected, but then every now and again I'll glance over to see that its overboosted a touch. I guess I need to work out when it overboosts and mess with the start duty to get it right.
