  1. So, no-one on here knows how to use the Apexi AVC-R then...?
  2. And presumably they're easy to fit? Is it just a case of removing one section of the exhaust and replacing it, or is there more to it than that?
  3. OK, thanks for the info, I understand now! So how much does your de-cat pipe cost Chris?
  4. that's not a bad idea actually - maybe I could send a blank one to Justin as well while I'm at it!
  5. OK, sounds like a good enough reason to me!
  6. LOL er, yes, I do want to, but I don't want to blow my turbos!! With my boost controller I can turn the boost up when I want to scare the shit out of myself, so what difference will removing the first cat make?
  7. At the moment I've got a Hiper with the second cat removed. What is the advantage of removing the first cat if not changing any elements of the engine/turbos/fuelling? (sorry if thats a dimwit question, I'm still learning!)
  8. I currently have only one cat removed - if I remove the other, will I be able to keep boost down using my AVCR, or is it not as simple as that?
  9. Ahhh, I'm hoping that I have the same problem then, as my driver's side wiper "lifts off" at anything over 80, but the passenger side wiper still clears the screen perfectly!! Cheers Alex...
  10. Cool - if you email me the relevants I'll take my lappy along and see if someone else has a cable. Cheers, Mark.
  11. Are you going to TorqueIC on Sunday Phil?
  12. And if not, I have a laptop - what data cable is it? RS232?
  13. Right, cheers for the explanation - so presumably there's reasons for people developing a replacement valve which "dumps" to atmosphere as opposed to how the stock one works...?
  14. Nah, I'm sure no-one on here is that immature...
  15. Not that I know anything about this on a technical level, but this is from the RaceLogic site: I'd be interested to know what they do do though, if anything!
  16. ...each to their own! Isn't the HKS SQV the latest favourite? I think its adjustable as well. I'm sure someone who knows what they're talking about will pop in any minute....!
  17. It is an upgrade in terms of sound! *PSSSCCCHHHHEEWW*
  18. The manuals aren't a lot of use to someone like me - apart from being poorly translated, they only seem to explain what each setting is rather than what it does/what effect it will have/suggested settings etc. I was after someone who can give me a layman's description of the basics....
  19. LOL So, what are the settings then Paul?
  20. I have had my Apexi AVC-R and Super AFC for nearly two years now (in the car when I bought it) but I still do not feel like I understand completely how they work or what they do exactly!! I understand the very basics of the AVC-R in as much as I know how to set the boost and duty for each preset (A and B) but I don't know how/what to set the graph-like duty screen to, I think its something to do with different duty setting for different RPM? Also, there's stacks of other settings which I haven't got a clue about! Can anyone advise me on this, also any other settings I should be worried about or which might make a difference? Also, I have an Apexi Rev/Speed meter (not the latest one) which does not seem to be configured correctly any more, it does not show the correct speed/revs at all and I don't know what the settings should be - the manual is not very useful IMO! Does anyone know anything about these? TIA, Mark.
  21. A mate of mine had the same thing with his UK TT. He's not on here but I believe it was sorted by Stuart Sandy of ToyodaTech. Details here: http://www.toyodatech.ukgateway.net/ If you speak to him tell him I sent you! HTH, Mark.
  22. Yep, sounds like it to me - this is what happens: http://www.mpaconsultancy.co.uk/supra/bonnetopen.jpg But, as Syed says, there are other options should your bonnet be knackered: http://www.mpaconsultancy.co.uk/supra/veilsidebonnet.jpg
  23. Don't know what the model no. is but someone once told me that NGK do make plugs which are repackaged as Blitz and other brand names....
