  1. Been trying to convey that for years... could never quite find the words thanks Chris:) ps. and agreed on the suspension - have went through approx 4 different spring/shock combos and have to say the present yellow bilstiens + vvti springs are the best so far
  2. That`s exactly what cured mine as well. Did you find the tt bilstiens lifted the car a little? Other things i went through were all the rear bushings, balljoints upper and lower, subframe torque, boot rubbers, check arb as well.
  3. Wouldn`t go over £30 imo, you`ll get decent gold plated for that. Real cheapies have inferior screening though and are prone to interference from other electrical stuff around the house.
  4. hmmm, so how does it drive at the minute??
  5. apparently Ian C wouldn`t miss it
  6. Correct. the thread title is `tyre and grip research`
  7. HERE HERE !! In the pursuit of grip and traction this guy took the rear of the MK4 to the extreme!! Superb work. http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/9857/13007auh2.jpg http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/3686/13007byl2.jpg
  8. Let me see now... so where was this `tech knowledge` you speak of here... Rant 1 - "This annoys me - some people have gone to a lot of trouble to get some tried and tested results down and some clot comes along and goes "Yah Yah but where is the 3 dimensional chart of every tyre size versus tyre brand versus every suspension setup known to man huh? WHERE IS IT? THIS IS WORTHLESS YOU SUCK". Well, crack on sunshine, put your money and your free time into swapping suspension and tyre setups and post up the results. I doubt that'll happen though, as you can't even be arsed to use the shift key or a full stop. -Ian" tbh i expect an apology - bad day at work isn`t an excuse for ignorance.
  9. LOL, you make it so easy! "Reading between the lines" is an assumption, and what shouldn`t you ever do Ian?? C`mon, yes you got it, NEVER assume. Assumptions can make people look like a$$holes! As for punctuation, this is a car forum not a written english exam. If the OP wanted a rant about punctuation he`d have gone elsewhere. Just this time i`m prepared to give you a `fools pardon` as you seem tired, ratty with possibly other things on your mind. In future try to address the topic in question, it was interesting and important with lots of opinions and viewpoints, we don`t need off topic rants from those who`ve had a bad day
  10. Err, Wrong! i said nothing of the sort and well you know it. and another thing........ (by Ian C) "I doubt that'll happen though, as you can't even be arsed to use the shift key or a full stop. -Ian". Pity you couldn`t have been arsed in attending english class - you don`t include full stops in sentences ending in question mark - oh well:rolleyes: anyhow back to the topic in question `tyre and grip research`, imo you can have the best tyre in the world, but if you`re suspension set-up is sh1t you end up with little benefit
  11. don`t agree with any of that `tyre and grip research` was the title, you`re wasting time talking tyres alone and not taking into consideration all other factors that effect grip of said tyres.
  12. Grip? all this talk about tyre types and pressures and no mention of SUSPENSION settings, weight transfer etc etc ??
  13. Have you ever rented or borrowed a car and when arriving at the petrol station wondered...mmm, which side is the petrol filler cap? My normal solution was to stick my head out the window, strain my neck and look, try to see in the side mirrors or even get out of the car!!!! Well ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to share with you my little secret so you will no longer look like Ace Ventura on your way to the petrol station or put your neck at risk of uncomfort or injury. If you look at your petrol gauge, you will see a small icon of a petrol pump? The handle of the petrol pump will extend out on either the left or right side of the petrol pump? If your tank is on the left, the handle will be on the left? If your tank is on the right, the handle will be on the right. It is that simple! I don't know how you feel right now but when I found out this morning I felt cheated! WHY don't the dealers share such important information with car buyers? I don't understand why this isn't in the Highway Code or even the car manufacturers manual?? I don't get why any mechanic I have ever been too or know has even thought of mentioning this to me?? The only possible explanation can be that all these people probably don't even know!
  14. X 2 that stick on jap tat does nothing for a nice standardish black supra. have a look at the owners cars over on supraforums.com, you`ll see what i mean

Dom, you`ve a lot of work in front of you there. Depends on you... do you want to rag it up and down the road like a chav, or end up with something to be proud of like this blue one here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=164946 my opinion is to tidy it up, forget about that veilside tat, clear that sh1t out of the back, spray the dash back to original and change the front bumper, clean up the engine bay and take the lot down to Marty & co in Crumlin http://supraspecialists.moonfruit.com/#/contactpage/4518123484 who know a bit about setting up single turbo supras
