  1. My only skyline experience was a brief drive in a R32 GT-S 4-door, the steering I admit felt very surreal and it had shagpile carpet Link to my car http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?266433-UK-spec-Auto-Single-syvecs-580bhp-%A39k-ovno If as a person new to these cars and looking to buy can I recommend a few threads to read from the tech section? http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?67644-What-to-check-when-buying-a-Supra http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?59334-Supra-Guide-and-Model-Differences-Chart http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?86128-The-Autobox-Modes-of-Operation http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?56684-FAQ-Oil-Fluid-Interval-Capacity-Steering-Brake-Coolant-Diff-Engine http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?10489-Views-on-the-auto-versus-the-manual-gearbox There's many more, but at least these will give you a feel for things. If you're after 400bhp odd you can just go for BPU cars. Single ownership I would say is more complex, but then I don't know what you did to the R33 to get it to 450bhp
  2. Well if you fancy single ownership mine's in the classifieds.... Good luck on your hunt, read read and read the tech section
  3. Not much - I can't find stock weights though but I must say the rear weighs in at less than a kilo by feel. Had several requests to sell the rear, ideally am still looking to sell as a pair. Will try and get some photos up of both when I can.
  4. Who? (I hope there's cake)
  5. Alas it's staying with the car really. Otherwise there'll be fitment holes in the bumper. Buy the car I'll thrown these in Go on, especially if you've never had a UK-spec! Dirt cheap to insure
  6. Indeed! Even fit over single turbo installs... if I don't sell the car these will eventually go on the car, Bonus points for trying How about buy my car, take the bits you want, sell the rest? Syvecs... GT35, 1000cc, Fuel rail, nice Cobra Misanos...
  7. Ash, Really sorry I have taken so long to get back to you - new job, house and baby all going on this month...! Here are some pics of the calipers, I haven't had a chance to take them apart. As said they were functional when on the car, but felt like they needed a refurb. As you can see there's plenty of meat left on the pads, CW Fast Road pads, also have a set of pins. They were wearing the discs very evenly when we removed them. I don't have the time to take them apart to see what refurb work is needed, it's taken me 6 weeks to get them out of storage and photo them! Sorry chap. I only dug these out as said previously solely because of your issues - I was saving them to do a refurb when I had the time (maybe 2014? ) Excuse the red caliper paint, that was prior owner's! If you want these, £75 + P&P to you inc the pads. I hope that'd leave you enough money for any bits for the refurb. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7195/7029261601_f77b216094_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7037/7029261953_5cb90cffbc_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7067/7029262843_29af20f5b1_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7060/6883162914_bfc7186167_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7057/7029264021_bea9c706e3_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7267/6883162604_979686e4c4_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7186/6883163982_5d6f8c8856_b.jpg http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6233/7029263211_bb0edb1d05_b.jpg Anyone else on this thread who has a little more expertise on calipers than I do please feel free to chip in with a valued opinion - I'm a user not an expert when it comes to brakes I would hope this would seem a fair price for a set of UK calipers + CW pads which need some TLC. Simon
  8. Brand new, only tested for fitment, never driven with them fitted. Aluminium and carbon fibre (Believe the front is an alu bar with a thick carbon fibre coating), the rear is alu with a hollow carbon fibre bar. http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6232/6883129598_d593760c39.jpg http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6034/7029229585_6593cf646e_b.jpg £100 each + postage, or collection from Bournemouth area - or am provisionally at Whifbitz sometime next week. Can deliver but price to be agreed. Please note pictures are stock pictures, as mine are sat in storage presently.
  9. For clarification as I've had questions about it - the car is not running 1.8bar, it was mapped up to 1.8bar at SRR to check it could safely run this, but it is currently mapped to 1.6bar. I don't have the power figures for the 1.8bar run but I can check with Ryan. Also means if you ever get any overboost condition you know it's not going to run lean. Also new Supersport coilpacks were fitted during mapping as the old ones were shot. Some coilpack clips were also changed over.
  10. Thank you for that bit of info chap - never knew that. I thought they were stock, but obviously not :-) I'm getting some more photos later this evening hopefully so could verify if possible! Other useful bits of info for people re the syvecs setup : Syvecs mapped to High 1.6 bar and Low 1.0 bar Safely mapped on SRR to 1.8 bar Full traction control wired to stock ABS sensors by Ryan G Full boost control Full closed loop knock control AFR sensor Oil temp sensors inc conservative max threshold trip Oil pressure sensors inc conservative trip, also checks oil pressure on startup (makes it crank a couple of seconds longer) Water temp sensors inc conservative trip Air intake temp sensor by throttle body One sensor position left on unit - could be used for EGTs Ryan was amazed at how quickly this car spooled as well as how tightly it controlled the boost, helped by Paul's twin manifold wastegate and 2x45m Turbosmart WGs. Recent 140mile run on high boost setting in the dry achieved avr 24mpg. Checked with sCal, intercooler shows intake temps pre and post intercooler and must say Mr Whiffin's intercooler on a hot day was taking a 40c intake temp down to 32c in what'd be a very warm bay! Other pic in my garage here http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=3387 Please ignore the silver 19s, they're long gone.... made the car squirm like a shopping trolley imho.
  11. £189 is the premium, then insurance tax, admin charges take it to £230-ish? Also helps I live in a town with zero crime as >66% of the population is over 70 I'll PM you
  12. Btw I know many will doubt the stock autobox will survive this power rating - this has been adjusted with the syvecs where torque is dropped down to a safe level during the gear change process for a few milliseconds then ramped back up so full throttle shifts are not a problem on this setup. Excuse the camera phone pictures. Available to view whenever - work from home 25-50% of the time. Any questions please feel free to ask. Stupid questions please feel free to PM Front http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7197/6875008610_497e3593a0_b.jpg Rear http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7105/6875007888_3dba83f926_b.jpg Engine bay Turbo and intake Whifbitz fuel rail just visible - purple anodised alu SARD FPR Battery and hard piping Cabin from LHS Drivers side Picture of fade on TRD blade Stone chips on LHS RR result
  13. For sale due to new company car and lack of use - this could be used and cared for by someone who has the time! Summary 580bhp / 560lbft @ 1.6bar mapped by 2BarTuning (Dec 2011) Toyota Supra UK-spec Auto in Red (3L2 - yes it's still red) 121k miles Full service @ whifbitz 1k miles ago (Dec 2011) £4.5k spent Dec 2011 on mapping, fitting of manifold, WG, diffuser & full service @ whifbitz Full head rebuild inc valve stem seals in 2009 Taxed until March 2013 MOT until July 2012 - will re-MOT if I get very near asking price £9000 ovno Recently had a lot of work inc full service by Whifbitz, twin wastegate manifold, new intake, new fuelling, new intercooler. Syvecs S6GP fitted and mapped by Ryan - incs full knock, boost control, trac control, oil temp, water temp, intake temp sensors wired in with conservative trips. As it's a UK-spec car and I use another car for work insurance costs are not high on a classic policy - £189/year inc agreed value for 5k/miles a year fully comp. I have owned this car for over 5 years, having bought it off another club member, spending a fair amount of money to get it to where I'd like it mechanically. This is my 2nd supra, having owned a NA for a few years before that. I just don't get to use it anymore and thought I would after getting it to where I wanted, but I just can't kid myself and I don't find the time. I now have a company car and a small daughter, so finding opportunities to use it are thin. Car could do with a respray - I would say stone chips due to age and the TRD blade on the wing needs a polish or re-laquer (it will also come with the stock red spoiler) A few pics show the chipping on the spats and the brake ducts part. El-glo dials / dash I was looking long term to refurb as it's not to everyone's tastes. Aux belt squeaks a bit when cold, think this may just be down to dirt buildup on the pulleys due to lack of use. 14. Gone for this battery in the end http://www.tayna.co.uk/Exide-EP450-DUAL-AGM-Battery-Maxxima-MAX900DC-P7502.html http://www.tayna.co.uk/Exide-EP450-DUAL-AGM-Battery-Maxxima-MAX900DC-Reviews-7502.html Cheaper than the Optima Yellowtop (£193 for the Optima, £162 for the Exide) if you hunt around, no problems fitting size wise, 750CCA and it's a 6-cell sealed unit, even has bolt on terminals which I will be switching to when I find an evening to rewire, also as it's 6 circular cells it's got mounting holes through the middle so you can bolt it down or even mount it sideways or upside down if you so desire. Highly highly recommended, car cranks a lot better and car stays running at a higher voltage than my crappy old Yuasa.
  15. You beat me by £10... but then maybe it's because I drive a single
  16. Dnk has hit the nail on the head here. They need a refurb of seals at the very least, as said previously I haven't taken them apart so do not know how many (if any at all) pistons or other parts you'd require to get the calipers I have back to top condition. There are 4 pistons per caliper, they're £20 each from Chris Wilson. You may get away with none, or all 8 could be required. I haven't had, nor have the time yet to pull these apart nor have currently so I don't know piston wise what they need and it's hard to see pitted pistons without taking the whole caliper apart. I offered you these as you seem to be a chap in a bind - I didn't have them up for sale at all - so please make sure you understand what i've posted in #34. You will need a reasonable amount of tools and time to do a caliper refurb if it includes pistons. Also you know this is just calipers and pads yes? And that these require the bigger sized discs as well to go with them? I don't have any discs available to go with these. As said I will pull these out of storage on Saturday, may be able to take pads and such off and do you some pics of shims/clips/seal areas in this thread. You checked with DanDan the condition of his and how much he'd want for them?
  17. When i can I'll take mine down to my MOT centre and get some readouts of emissions via all the maps, may help. I think as Noz said, condition of engine too counts.
  18. Unless you've got it running engine-threateningly lean... pull the other one.
  19. So, when are you hiring apprentices? Can see this being quite a bump in your business worldwide!
  20. Random Supra general knowledge quiz - Does anyone know the battery tray dimensions or the WxDxH (and weight) that the area where the battery goes will support without modification?
  21. If only we had a section for technical issues... Does sound like your tensioner, when was the aux belt replaced? Does the noise go away after the car's warmed up for quite a while?
  22. This is what I thought and was going to ask. What polishing compound do you/ have you used? Curious as I am suffering the same woes with a TRD carbon blade.
  23. Chris, What's the labour cost of you rebuilding calipers? Price per caliper of 2 pot rears and 4 pot fronts?
