If you really want to be safe (and a bit paranoid) do a 7-level format. Most things cannot be recovered after that, it's very hard to get anything off the platters. I have seen some really paranoid people going for it US-Military style - 21 level format. But that can take several days...

Software emulation is being taken out of all future PS3's to save cost. I'm not sure how as it's mainly software emulation... Yes, the Jap/US 60gb's intially had the PS2 emotion engine on a chip, so backwards compatibility was performed at a hardware level. Shame none of the 20's/40's/80 models support it! Get a 60Gb off eBay while you can. Gran Turismo 4 when upscaled does seem reasonable, but I'm still waiting for GT5. Still, if anyone wants a kicking at Resistance Fall of Man please let me know Good luck with the sale, it's a lot of kit, but I just think 500 ovno is a bit steep.

Still looking? I have a set that worked perfectly before I swapped to UK on my old j-spec. Also have rears which can throw in for free, as quite frankly they're just sat around taking up space.

18' Wheels, 9J front, 10J rear. Must fit standard UK-spec brakes. Anything considered that isn't in dire need of a refurb, with/without tires. Consider part-ex for 19' SSW wheels. If anyone has any Lexus GS300 TTE wheels for sale, please please PM me!

Auto, thought you'd have picked that up where I said about gearbox coolers .... suppose I should put it in my sig! Doh! The GT35R was RR'd at 460 RWHP, so I am concerned that the T70 is also probably producing too much power for a standard auto box, but not experienced any slip etc.

I have a XS-Power T70 uk single. It was previously a GT35R but that had an oil feed issue, so was replaced. Am looking now to refurb it or buy a brand new GT35R and put that back on, as the lag and the slow spool on the T70 is not to my liking. The T70 has lots of power when it comes on, but by the time you get into that rev-range unless you're on a clear road, I have found that's about the time I want to ease off the power. Forget going WOT on anything below 50mph unless you're on the smoothest of smooth roads, it hasn't rained for ages and it's a dry warm summer's day. I would say it's not progressive enough for my liking and would like something that comes on earlier and quicker and slightly less aggressive. I'll also be looking into gearbox coolers. That and if you look at threads on big-single turbos no-one's recommending the T70/T61 sorta stuff but seems to be the GT35R or GT4088R, something fast with a DBB/journal bearing. I have a MAF sensor but am seriously seriously considering changing this to MAP. I want to in the next month buy an AEM EMS and get MAP put on. It's currently running with a greddy emanage blue piggyback on it, but after reading all around here AEM may be better. I think the MAF is causing me a few issues, I bought the car and it has an atmospheric BOV welded onto the cool end of the IC pipework, even though I've got the screw adjusted to be shut I think it's still causing the MAF to go mental, so I'm going to get a recirculation one put on. It does look like a UK-single is a bottomless pit of money. Fun, but costly. I'll have a XS-Power T70 turbo for sale shortly if you want it but I think the buying market for this would be lorry/bus drivers, or people who wanna take their car up the strip.

Don't spend your money on useless crap... Oh and become an IT consultant (In hardware or bespoke software) - I've seen people in London earning £300-500 ... per hour! It's sick. One of them was showing me photos of their Aston Martin 'collection'. 2 years and I'm contracting in london baby...

Point to Point data? What on earth are you doing with that shoddy TCP stuff? Go buy some fibre channel kit.... much faster - Get some good SAN kit on the go. It's why there's been roadworks on the M3 most of last year, they were digging it up for our company to lay fibre-optics

Wifi = wireless access, not wired. If you connect to the interweb without an ethernet cable, you're most likely on wifi. PS3 (except the 20gb version) has wifi so can use that too, but I'd recommend a cable any day. Yes, cable in the back of the PS3, if you've only got the one cable - which I guess is going to your computer, you can temporarily unplug it and whack it on the PS3. Hey, why don't we start MKIV clans on something?

Don't fret dude, is it a modem or an adsl Router? Has it got other ethernet ports out the back of the adsl box? If so, ethernet from that to the PS3, viola Or if not nip on dabs.com etc or go down town and buy an ADSL router. I have both an ADSL line for work and my cable modem for home. Don't use wi-fi! The amount of games I've dropped out of on Wi-fi is :(

I used to suffer from horrible insomnia through college and first couple of years of work. I then had a bout of narcolepsy, which is a very weird thing to experience. First yes, gotta drop the alcohol intake, it can drive your body nuts filtering it all out of your blood-stream. Especially if you're a redbull + vodka drinker! How is your caffiene and sugar intake? I found that if you stop drinking any caffiene from 12-3pm-ish you will fall asleep easier at night. If you start crashing and losing concentration at work during 12-5pm period (or last 5 hours of whenever you work) try and chug 0.5-1 litre of water and have a banana/orange/apple, which should help your body with blood sugar and so maintain alertness and concentration. Breakfast will also be important in the morning to get you alert and your metabolism going. Hopefully you are a breakfast person? Something like bowl of cornflakes/weets + 2 toast + OJ/coffee will set you up til mid-day. Depending on how physical your work is? Are you an office worker or something physical? Also activity in the evening or throughout the day can affect how you sleep later. If you're a big fan of computer games as someone mentioned if you're even playing 2-3 hours before you go to sleep games can affect your adrenalin and 'pleasure receptor'/endorphine levels, which afterwards can either keep you awake or if you've been playing 3 hours of deathmatch games you'll be shakey and drained. Either way your body will not go to sleep until it washes out of it's system and feels calm enough to let the brain relax. If you're gonna play try and do it before you have dinner, this means your brain can wind-down over dinner and it'll digest your food easier and help you physically calm down. Lastly unless you need to concentrate in the evenings try and lower your carb intake in your evening meal or snacks - raise protein levels instead. Try and have more meat (sounds weird eh?). If you're thinking of the gym you could always replace or supplement breakfast with a protein shake and have one for dinner with a small bit of meat. Pure protein from SCI-MX is something I'd recommend to start off with (http://www.sci-mx.co.uk) which you can also buy from your local Tesco if it's got a 'nutri-centre' like the bournemouth one has. This will give you protein at the most important times to aid you build muscle and convert fat because of slow and fast release proteins in it. Be warned tho, no-one'll want to go near you when you fart Sorry for length, but I hope it's all good advice. If you want more, just ask.

Rest in peace Daz. I too am a member that never met you, but seeing all the touching comments from the members and traders here there is no doubt you were a cherished and valued member in the supra community and the forum. I'm saddened by our loss here, there have been far far far too many this year and it makes us all I think take a step back and realise how brief life and friendships can be and that we should cherish them to the utmost, every damn day, because one day they may be no more. I am glad to hear that Daz seemed to be the kind of person full of energy, enthusiasm and love for everything he did, that while his life has been tragically cut short I have absolutely no doubt that everyone in his life was very glad to be a part of his life. It doesn't sound like a life that was wasted, far from it. Please, for those going along to the service remember him for all of us. Simon
