  1. Put 4.7L behind that huge single and add some insanity. Eric
  2. 2jz + big turbo = lag machine. 2uz + smaller turbos = fun machine Eric
  3. I was going to do it this week, but I got sidetracked. Probably next weekend. Give it about 15-20lbs of boost and it'll be downright scary. As it is now it's fun enough to give you that little leg tingle when you floor it. Eric
  4. Yeah, just a quick pull. The redline is set low at 7k rpm, but it's about to get raised to 8k. I think I only go to ~6k in the vid? Still, the thing is quick. Evan at such a low boost level, and the wastegate bleeding off boost prematurely (lines disconnected), it comes on fast.
  5. Small video of a quick pull. The power comes on so smooth, feels intuative, and the car is a like a cadillac to drive [compared to my old white mkiv]. This is still only at 8psi with the wastegate lines disconnected. More boost to come, but right now the motor purrs like a kitten. Whatever Ken Wells and Jay from Real Street Performance did to the transmission worked. Where it was mushy before, it feels solid and more efficient now. I'd be interested to see what it's making at the same 8psi that we dynoed, now that it's all sorted.
  6. 3400 isn't all that high. Some 2jz guys are runn 4400 on the street. Right now being a 3400 stall, the turbos come online in an instant. There's no waiting around. On the street it's very nice. Anytime you go into the throttle, the motor responds with turbo whistle and the car moves out. Eric
  7. TitanDarin did an outstanding job of street tuning the car, and my god it drives well. The car is tuned for low boost now so as to be on the conservative side (it needed to make an appointment at the DMV this week). The initial driving impression blows me away. Let me put it out there right now that the Sp400 is BRILLIANT with this motor. On the street, lag is vanished. Simply roll your right foot forward and the converter flashes to 3800, and the turbos come online in an instant. Even in 3rd gear, I can feel the torque there anytime I want it. It's SO different from how I remember the 2jz and that big GT47 88mm I had on there. The V8TT feels eager and ready to move the car as soon as I am. Here's the quick specs on the pertinant goods: Twin Bullseye 56mm's, .70 a/r 9.6:1 dynamic compression ratio 4.7L [email protected], .366 lift cams Sp400 stage 2 3400 Protorque stall 8si dyno Overall I'm VERY happy with it's performance, and look forward to more boost. Eric
  8. That's the important part, Ed. If the car is everything you want it to be, then it's all worth it. Trust me. The leather work is top shelf, also. Very impressive. Eric
  9. Thanks guys, the vids are on the way. The days of lag are over. The car responds as fast as you can roll your right foot forward. Thanks!! Eric
  10. ***Driving Feedback Report*** It was a big night last night. The V8 was taken out on her maiden voyage in an Orlando city cruise. The cruises I take usually last about an hour and cover Winter Park, greater Orlando, and Baldwin Park. The car is brilliant! The torque is present at virtually any rpm. If your cruising at 35mph, simply roll your right foot forward and the engine responds immediatlely. Right now we're only running on wastegate spring pressure (8psi), and still through the Sp400 it's making 381rwhp. That works out to 545BHP, or 463rwhp through a 6 speed if someone were inclined to apply the equivilent maths. We kept it low because the car has an appointment that it must make on Tuesday, so after that Darin can give the beans. Thanks to TitanDarin for the unbelievable tune. He's a real professional. The transmission is FUN. I know some folks say that the Sp400 saps too much power, and creats too much lag, but the 4.7TT changes the game. Given that now there's torque, I can run a low 3400 stall. I can attest to the power being available at virtually any rpm. I say virtually because if you start from a dead stop oin 3rd obviously the car is going to be a little slow. The car is surely heavier now given the body work, leather, and 80lbs more oin the nose, but the torque on tap makes the car feel light. So in short, no real lag to complain about, plenty-o-torque, and very repsonsive motor. THE FUN IS BACK!!!!!!
  11. It's Darin from Titan, so it's in good hands. He's tuned all of my cars. Eric
  12. AHahahaha.. touche'. Overall the V8 torque seems to be promising, I like it when I blip the throttle and the car responds instantly. I really think that this is what toyota should have put into the car into the first place. Eric
  13. Chevy's are for hookers and fat people Dyno readings are meanigless to me, in all honesty. A dyno is a tuning tool and nothing more. Eric
  14. That's small time power around here. Orlando is a tough town. Eric
  15. All coming up. The main focus so far though is on making some power, then I can get to the audio. Thanks!! Eric
  16. I'm only looking for ~800rwhp or so, but for boost to come on fast. I like the compound kit, but I still believe that displacement is king. On the BL compound kit, hats off to doing in practical application, but the idea has been around for ages on other platforms. If push ever came to shove we can develope compound kit for the V8TT, and have it perfected on the engine dyno prior to installing into the car. It would look a little odd with one small turbo and one large, however it would promise boost directly off idle with a garganutan top end. Thanks!! Eric
  17. I'll do my best. The plan right now is to drop the car off and then pick it up when it's done, so it may be a case of in car video. Thanks again! Eric
  18. Thanks gents. It's been a long road to get it where it is now, and while there is still a little to do, it feels like it's all downhill from here. As soon as I get a dyno shett I'll be the first to post it. While I'm not going for top HP, I'm looking for power to come on early. Like stab it, and you're in the boost. That's the promise of displacement. Thanks again! Eric
  19. Maybe after this coming weekend, we'll see. Is scheduled for a tuning by Titan Darin and maybe we can give it a go while it's there. Eric
  20. I'm afraid the stock spoiler would equal disaster to the look of the car. Eric
  21. If the car is ready, sure It's very different from a docile 2jz, the V8 feels like a handful. Just grabbing the steering wheel you can feel it. Eric
  22. You should see the neck snapping when it drives through the neighborhood. Eric
  23. In and around, yes. It's beautiful this time of year. Eric
