  1. Thanks very much, gents. It all very appreciated. There's no better feeling that hitting the start button, and hearing this thing fire off. It's competely different than a 2jz in that it sounds all grown up. The motor sounds aggressive and ready to work. Thanks again! Eric
  2. For all that have asked, here's a quick rev up. The car was backed out and the video taken so folks can hear the exhaust note. There's no mistaking this for the 2jz, no way in hell. It sounds outstanding, and revs up quickly and smoothly.
  3. Here's some shots fo the heads completely assembled and ready to drop onto the block. The cams are off since they have to be off to tighten the studs. Very clean work here.
  4. From the dealership, they're kind of expensive, but the MVP pulley is pretty reasonably priced at ~60GBP. Here's a pic. Eric
  5. A vid of the idle in daylight.
  6. Thanks Ed, fell free to call anytime. Also I have some news about the compression ratio. It so far seems to be normal. Whatever it is, it's definitely NOT 14:1. With the piston mixup, it was always a craps shoot as to ratio, but so far every cylinder is in the 170psi range. Perfect for boost I have to say I'm happy about that. I suppose we clearanced enough out of the heads, and the dished valves helped out a little. There also may be some cam overlap. Either way, we've go the green light for boost. Thanks! Eric
  7. It's running the Link G3 Plus. Overall the ecu seems to be a keeper. We had some trouble at first with the ignition but after some calls to nzefi, we found out that we had to change out the firing order in the ecu. Once that was figured out, the car fired right up and idled smoothly. It was a bit like training a dog. The dog wants to do what you ask, but it doens't know what youre' talking about. Same thing with the motor. It wanted to run the whole time, but just didn't understand what the ecu was telling it. In the video, it's the second idle attempt. Much of that is due to the tuner, I couldn't ask for any better than Darin. Thanks Chris! Eric
  8. I have a quiet exhaust on the car. I didn't want a loud raspy car, just something that says that it's not a 2jz. If I had the HKS Ti on the car, it would be heard all the way to Yorkshire Thanks ! Eric
  9. Well, it's starts and runs great! The motors isn't raspy, it's just smooth and deep. It's got good oil pressure on the gauge, and idles smoothly. No fuss. Turn up the bass on the computer.
  10. So damn close. We've been working with the motor for a couple of days and mostly chasing down a few electrical gremlins. Namely for some reason the ECU wasn't triggering the injectors as both sides in were getting 12V from the main. So we softwired the injectors to the ecu and now the injectors are working properly. I have to recheck that the coils are actually on the right plug, but all in all it looks like startup will be tomorrow night. Thanks! Eric
  11. More pics as of today. The heads are getting finished up. They're all very clean. Getting there and looking strong. Eric
  12. No guarantees, but we may have video of the startup this evening. Eric
  13. I should have more pics shortly. The motor is coming along nicely. The intake manifold is nearly done as well and will have pics to share very soon. Thanks again! Eric
  14. A quick update. The heads are coming together, and the new gaskets are in. The rotating assmebly is being balanced and should be done in the next day or so. In the meantime, here's the block bored out to 96mm. Once the rotating assembly comes back from balancing, it's all ready to assemble. Looking great!! Thanks!! Eric
  15. Just about. The next update will be a vid of it idling and possibly go-carting down the street. Thanks! Eric
  16. It's 345-30-18 BFG drag radials Eric
  17. Here's some pics of as it sits now. It's ready for the tune. Thanks ! I'm itching to hear how it sounds at idle and under throttle. Thanks ! Eric
  18. Hahahhaa.. no yellow stains from Buddy. He's a very good boy. Funny enough, the Q16 comes out yellow and it looks like yellow stains. Eric
  19. Lab- Doxen mix believe it or not. He's full grown THanks!! Eric
  20. Buddy, the new TTC Performance Products lap dog, says cheers
  21. The only things that would be needed to make the motor sing once it arrives in the UK is a set of SC400 motor mounts (which I can supply if need be), and the ecu/harness. I highly recommend the Link G3 Plus ecu, and with harness you'd be looking at 1500gbp. Also a Q45 TB would be in order. Over here's they're about 75gbp on average. As for the motor and turbo kit, it's ready to come off the pallet and drop into the car. Thanks! Eric
  22. HAHahahahaaha.. that fuel smells vile C16 smells like cotton candy, Q16 smells like it'll take the paint off the car. But right, we can do it cheaper than 9K for the engine. Thanks ! Eric
  23. I believe we can do better than that on the engine, it really depends on how far the motor is built. With the engine also comes the intake manifold, adapter plate, clutch kit, and steel motor mounts. That makes the whole she'-bang ready to drop in right off the pallet. On a side note, I've got the Q16 race gas in my car and it's ready to start. The fuel smells the business. Thanks !! Eric
  24. Forget the single, get some real torque When the tank was opened to snap a pic of the block, it was a blast of heat and caustic acid. Pretty impressiove though Eric
