  1. Don`t know if anyone else has this but i knew i`d seen a clip of a Supra in one of my old car videos so i`ve just been through them all. On the above mentioned video there is a clip of a black UK Supra at night coming up out the floor on a platform. It shows the interior as they put the front spoiler down and then of the outside again as it is shrouded in smoke. Unfortunately they have stuck neons to it so it glows in the smoke and dark. It then drives a few yards, it is only a short clip as Clarkson goes on to say " that although the Supra is a `super` car, it isn`t a Supercar " so they feature an NSX instead. Bizzarely the video is from 1994 but the plate has the M turned upside down so it is a "W" reg. Does anyone else know of any videos of the period (93-96) that report upon the Supra?
  2. Normally a classic policy entails signing up to restricted mileage. I don`t know if that would be any good to you? Also helps to be a member of a classic car club but can`t think of any that would take in a Supra?
  3. Seat Leon Cupra Diesel 150 bhp and then chip it to 180bhp
  4. My Mrs drives mine and i`ve let my dad have a go but only because i got to wring the neck out of his S2000. The only other person is my best mate but i always try out his new bikes. When i first had a go on his GSXR-750Y i nearly flipped it as its so quick and hopefully he`ll be getting a SuperDuke soon which`ll be cool. He was seriously impressed with the Supe as it just keeps pulling all the way up to 165.
  5. I had mine stowed away and then i thought bugger it. I`ll have to get rid soon as i just can`t afford it, so i may as well use it as much as i can. In fact i`ve had a day off today and spent the whole day just driving around the village enjoying the drive, the noise and the attention!
  6. Japanese Performance is a good mag as Banzai used to be but it`s slowly turning into a Fast Car type of mag so i`ve given Banzai the elbow. I still have Practical Classics and Classic and Sportscar every month though. Damn these mags are getting expensive
  7. Service history to me doesn`t just meen stamps in a book. I am more interested in bills and receipts. I can see for myself if the work has been done well or not. Anyway, especially with Supras, a Toyota stamp is worthless as a good majority of Toyota mechanics i`ve met so far don`t know what they`re looking at anyway.
  8. UK Spec stopped in `96 but J-Specs go up to 2002. You probably ought to have a word with Jurgen if you want to look at importing a later car. He`s your man.
  9. You can use a normal car trailer. Mine is decked so i just used 2 scaffold planks on top of the trailer ramps to reduce the angle and it was fine.
  10. ..........this looks pretty sweet. Buy it now - £14k on Yahoo Japan.
  11. Currently on Yahoo Japan starting bids at £30k.
  12. If the balljoint you have circled is damaged or the wishbone itself then you have to buy a complete wishbone. I did this 2-3 weeks ago. They are only available from Toyota and they`re about £300.
  13. If you`re talking about the ball joint, then yes you can get a splitter. They`re cheap enough to buy or in the past i`ve sprung the joint by hitting the hub either side of it with two hammers at the same time. Although i wouldn`t recommend it on a Supra! Leave that tip to your daily shitters.
  14. If it`s anything like my Skoda then £400 is cheap for a full system. Recently my front pipe went. In the front pipe the Cat is incorporated. It can`t be unbolted, it is part of the pipe. No problem i thought. I went round all the exhaust places, German and Swedish, EuroCar Parts, etc and was told that because the car was relatively new that none of the after market manufacturers ( Bosal, etc ), weren`t producing them yet. Skoda OE only. Went to Skoda and asked for a price for the pipe and that i`d fit it myself and with the VAT it cam in at just under £400. That`s just the front section. I went home and chopped the exhaust off after the Cat, made a new piece and welded it on. Sorted. So if your system has a Cat that is part of the pipe then they may be quoting you for that as well?
  15. Be careful with bushes. I presume TRD bushes are uprated bushes but my GTti has a full set of Superflex bushes and although it handles like a go-kart it doesn`t soak up vibration as well and so shakes the hell out of you and presumably puts extra strain on other suspension components.
  16. That`s handy as that was exactly what i wanted to know but is the V160 oil available through Toyota or is there an equivalent oil made by another manufacturer?
  17. I have the manufacturers manuals for my GTti. There is an electrical one, ECU one, chassis one, mechanical and body folder. £75 each. I have three of them as i don`t need the other two as i don`t know my positives from my negatives. It`ll be worth checking you have the proper in depth versions and not just a general manual. If it`s the real deal i`ll have one too please.
  18. I was going to post this up today as i too have this problem. But my fluids are fine, so i`m guessing that there is a switch on the handbrake? that can be adjusted. Only problem is it isn`t obvious in the near dark how to get the panel off from around the handbrake?
  19. At last, could it be me? My first spotting. I`ve been in Brighton all week and then today went across to Portsmouth and then up the M27, M3, A34, and the M40. I bumped into a real nice black Supra on the A34 and followed it on the A34 and M40 for a while. Whoever that was your car looked really smart and sounded ace!
  20. Many thanks to Mr.Credit-Card, fitted my new wishbone yesterday and had the car re-mot`d. She`s taxed, fuelled and oiled up and i`ve spent all morning giving her a good polish and now ready to have a good run down to Brighton in the morning. Ace! Incidentally another advantage of having a J-Spec is that once i`d initially cracked all the nuts and bolts off they all came off using my fingers. There doesn`t appear to be any rusty nuts and bolts underneath which is great news if i ever need to take anything else off.
  21. If you want a top job then Chris Wilson is your man, can`t recommend him highly enough.
  22. The best stuff i`ve found is STP Son of A Gun. Leaves a very nice matt natural finish.
  23. Honda CRX and yes i was in it and no i can`t recommend it. In fact if i can find someone near me with a scanner i`m going to post the actual accident photos up to hopefully make people think twice when racing around. That was at a proved 30 mph!
