So I thought I knew best and damaged one of my bilstein b8 (gas pressure) front shocks on installation to my daily. Essentially the large rod (that they make sure is super smooth) has a couple of c.1mm deep scratches on it near the bottom. I've ordered another as I'll no doubt need it. I just wanted to see what thoughts were about whether the damaged one be good for at least a while? I assume I'll start to notice oil spilling out everywhere once the seal goes. First time I've done any major car work, went well other than this Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi all, My car is not heavily modified and was thinking about insuring it with a 'standard' insurance policy (admiral etc. is £900 cheaper for me). Sky will only quote with a company that has very poor reviews (markerstudy) and the car is 'only' 18 years old so cant go on a classic policy so I'm keen for a change. One thing they wont quote with is a FMIC so am thinking about removing it and replacing with stock/smic then there are very few mods. Would anyone have one for sale with the piping etc and perhaps have a standard air duct too to go with it if necessary too? Any advice on this much appreciated, current setup pics attached if helpful. Many thanks, Foxx

Was flashing my lights on the Fosse park roundabout. Great to see another out on the road, looking good!

Went for a well maintained manual 330ci in the end for a first cheap go at this. Had the supra around Donington ok last saturday but thought it best to not use it as a first regular track car. Got a first track session for 3 hours a week on Monday. Car has braided lines, drilled discs and new dot 4 fluid. Hopefully be ok! Plan was to rock up and try a session and make upgrades after that as I go along, got some yellowstuff pads to go on after first session. Suppose the suspension is the next area for parts, bushes maybe some bilsteins (although it has standard BMW sport suspension). Didn't want to go crazy on parts as likely swap it for something else if I get into it. Any advice on spares and tools to take be appreciated, was planning on taking just enough to change a wheel. Thanks
