  1. Great bit of info, cheers for sharing! How are those Ksport brakes out of interest? Are they the same ones that are on whifbitz
  2. Anyone going to this tomorrow morning? Last few were super popular but almost too busy, new location allows more cars EDIT but does cost £4 per car (passengers free) Starts at 9am until midday Sandown Racecourse Esher Surrey KT10 9AJ
  3. Looks awesome mate! What skirts are they?
  4. Was the heating/AC working ok? If so I'm looking for a AC amplifier box (cream box with 3 orange plug ports, part number 88650-14270), should be behind/on top of the radio
  5. Just picking up on this thread, so after trying myself to diagnose and failing miserably, I spent a few hours on it today with an actual capable mechanic and we think it could be the AC amplifier not functioning (part 88650-14270, though maybe different on my J-Spec?). I was super confused with the system as a whole, not realising that the ac amplifier and dash control unit was actually 2 different things (even though it definitely says that above, I just didn't quite get it), the amplifier being presumably hidden somewhere in the depths of the dashboard. I believe the dash control unit has been replaced in the past as it has a part number written on it in tipp-ex (seems like a replacement used part), I've changed the blower motor relay and internal temp sensor, we confirmed today that the blower does indeed work if we send voltage to it so presumably the only option left is the AC amplifier unless anyone else has ideas? Does anyone know of one for sale/where I could get one? I'll try toyota tomorrow but not holding out much hope, will also try Garage D.
  6. Rocking a MK4 Golf V5. Bit of a quirky car really, sounds brilliant, goes fairly well and actually gets a fair MPG on the motorway (got 34.6 MPG coming back from Manchester today). Plus it only cost me £900 with 7 months MOT so can't really complain
  7. Cheers! Good to know for the future
  8. Would these work on Brian Crower cams for a GE?
  9. They recommended me to avoid the Series 1 as the support for them ended a couple of years ago, which answers my more urgent question. Thanks for your help guys, as I mentioned, I'll be starting a build thread when I get going so if anyone's interested they can bob into there. I imagine you'll see plenty more ECU queries on there!
  10. Thanks David I'll give them a shout
  11. Thanks bud, I did see your post in parts for sale, though I think that's out of my price range currently, would be very tempted in a few months time if still available.
  12. Veeeeeery interesting, thanks for the input guys, I called Future Motorsports today and they said apparently it won't work...did you have to do anything special to get yours to work?
  13. Hi all! Quick back story, I have a 95' Manual NA that I'll be soon be installing independent throttle bodies to. My question for now is does anyone know if I have any restrictions in terms of management? It seems that brand new for the GE, I mainly have the choice of a Link G4 system, AEM series 2 or ECU Master EMU Classic (I'm aware there are more expensive options but hoping to avoid them). However I have the option now of a second hand AEM Series 1 but it's currently on a GTE, are there much differences between managements for the GTE and GE? Can one be made to fit the other with a different adapter and mapped for NA? Will hopefully start a build thread when the work is underway! P.S not looking for "why don't you just turbo it comments", I'm going off piste for a reason
  14. Not sure if I'm too late or not but would love to join and meet some people on here. Should be able to bob down for an hour or 2 1. Shane - M240UKN 2. Paul 887 - P768AWY 3. 15. I did happen to find a video on the topic of square setups that may be of interest. Seems they perform quite well in this test, very similar tyre size as well (obviously different car though):
  16. Ok thanks for all your help Frank! Maybe it's worth giving the full square a go for the research haha, I was thinking because the front end is so heavy that wider tyres would help with that. Though I guess it's counter productive as bigger wheels/tyres are heavier... Will keep you posted if you're interested!
  17. Thanks I'll give that a go As for profile, I've found the bigger the profile the more wallowy and 'wandery' the car feels in my experience. I'm not fussed with a comfortable ride, I actually prefer a stiffer ride (as the actress said to the bishop) Would you recommend going for a 255 or even a 245 on the front and 265 on the rear or stick with the same all round?
  18. Thanks for the response Frank, I was hoping to get them to see how 255's look and see if they fit etc. I won't go into an argument for/against part worn tyres with you As for budget, I was looking around £130 a corner maximum really. When you say square set up, do you mean same size front and back?
  19. FURTHER UPDATE: Tyres now aren't available so I'm back to square one, no-one got any recommendations in terms of size?
  20. UPDATE: managed to find a full set of Federal 595 RSR's (255/35/18) part worn for £100 so gonna hopefully pick those up on saturday for test fitting and see how they go!
