    700bhp supra

That might open a few peoples minds actually, have a couple of single turbo supras of different specs, take people for demo rides and get them to guess the bhp. Then tell them the truth! Just because it doesn't have 700bhp doesn't make it slow
  3. Sounds good, what time should I get there? Is it still at that pub on the river with the barmaids?
  4. Bob, if you find anyone who does you a good deal let me know - I have a bonnet needs spraying and I've been quoted silly money.
  5. Let me know how you get on, I'm in herts and I've got a dent in my roof that needs sorting. Never thump your car no matter how stroppy you get with it . . .
  6. Dodgy SAFC huh? I had this happen to me last year, exactly the same by the sounds of it. In fact, if you search back through my posts you might even find one sugesting exactly that . . . WB will be going out first thing tomorrow, would have posted it sooner but haven't been home this weekend. Well done for getting it sorted and not pushing the car in a lake
  7. Have you checked the big thread on the AEM forum? I think one of the techs cleared up the instructions on there.
  8. You're supposed to set FP with the vac line disconnected, the regulator drags the pressure down at idle because the intake is under vacuum, so the pressure differential (and spray pattern) at idle is still ~40psi (or whatever you set it to with the vac line off) the same as it is when you're at 18psi and the regulator pushes the FP up to 58psi. It's meant to be more accurate setting the FP with no vac line because different 2JZ's will draw slightly different amounts of vacuum depending on cams, wear, leaks etc
  9. I don't think it would have any effect on injector pulsewidth, it would just put a slightly different load on the injector drivers, unless it was way out I can't see it being a big problem.
  10. Does the AVCR do fuel mapping then or are you using an SAFC for that? My ancient steam powered Mk3 standard ECU will quite happily run my 680cc injectors (standard are 440) at idle and closed loop and maintain perfect 14.7:1 a/f ratios with no SAFC etc connected. I drove it to work and back for a couple of weeks like that last summer after my old SAFC fried itself. So I would be very surprised if yours won't run 550's *at all*. Try plugging the SAFC back in and leaning it right out at idle, see if that helps?
  11. Open loop vs closed loop should be dependant on thorttle position and engine load (ie MAP sensor), I'm sure you knew of those two already, but I can't think of anything else. Coolant temperature perhaps?
  12. Tony, I can't see your map on this PC but I think what you are seeing is the injectors switching off completely on the over-run (ie lifting off the throttle). This is DFCO, or decel fuel cut off, and used in OEM mapping strategies to reduce fuel consumption etc. You can switch it off in the software as it can cause problems if it's not set up properly, but as long as you're not getting any bucking or jerking as you feed the throttle back in I would leave it. If you are on more than 2 or 3% throttle and it's reading 21:1 a/f you have a major issue!
  13. The bike disc looks like corss-drilling/venting taken to the extreme. The wavy discs look like stupidity take to the extreme
  14. Check out http://www.suprasport.com - it's a Mk3 site but they have a system which converts the Mk3 autobox to a tiptronic style thing. I'm a manual person myself so I don't know the details but the electronics must be pretty similar.
  15. Someone else who took a camera to the ring. I'm expecting footage like this you lucky gits http://www.s14.ctmnet.de/Klaus/lap1.wmv Ruf 911 with someone who knows what they're doing behind the wheel doing one lap of the track.
  16. Can't you just swap Brians loom in? (I'm assuming he has the whole lot, not just the plug!). I know you have to unthread it from the engine but that's no more tedious than all the other stripping down of bits you've done. That way you can isolate the problem before you start hacking wires . . . Or, splice in the ECU end of your fields harness, that way if it all goes tits up then you've still got one intact loom to fall back on!
  17. How do you know how long it's meant to take to leak down by a certin percentage? ie if you pressurise the camber to 5 bar and then five minutes later its down to 4 bar, how do you know if that's good or bad?
  18. 1. Branners 2. Supragal (not in her supra/ not 100%) 3. Millhouse (pending work) 4. Trig (Not 100% sure) 5. Pulse 6. Bobbeh 7. Nick 8. keron 9. supraRob 10. MfS 11. 19. Is there much of a weight difference in a 17" tyre vs an 18 or 19" tyre? I know the sidewalls are smaller (assuming the width stays the same for a fair comparison) so they should weigh less, but I'm sure I read that because the sidewall has to be so much stiffer they can end up being heavier in the larger diameter sizes.

    Flamer kit

Is it illegal if your car belches flames out as a result of your ECU tuning rather than pushing a button?
  21. Yeah, I know its not ideal but I didn't have a die grinder, the stones were only £3 for a pack of 5 , and I've finished now
  22. You may need something a bit beefier than a dremel. I was out doing a bit of tidying up on my cast HKS manifold tonight and the cast iron was wearing down my grinding stones (big ones in a drill) faster than the stones were wearing down the manifold
  23. I would have though that there is no way the engine can be revving that high with a closed throttle unless you have a pretty large air leak somewhere; even with the idle valve jammed fully open it wouldn't rev that high would it? No matter how much fuel the ECU is pumping in it needs air to mix with unless your car is doing something VERY weird!
  24. They look cool on 70s muscle cars with Hoosiers or something, but I can't see it working on a Supra . . . we shall see!
