  1. So this weekend has comprised of block sanding the primer back, and getting it back in colour. Not surprisingly, loads of shit landed in the clear, despite doing everything I could to avoid it. What I'd give to have a proper spray booth! [emoji24] Anyway, a lot of wet sanding and buffing, should sort it out............. But progress is progress right [emoji16]
  2. I'm not entirely sure tbh, I know the main bulbs are different between UK spec and facelift, my car is pre facelift, yet my bulb holders have worked with uk, pre, and facelift lights The sidelight bulb holders are probably not readily available, and won't have a pattern equivalent. You may be able to order them through megazip or amayama, or find someone breaking a pre facelift car, who will sell them to you
  3. Nothing, but you will need the bulb holders to stop moisture getting into the lights.
  4. To my knowledge, there is no UK spec facelift. All glass headlights are pre facelift
  5. Cheers chaps [emoji106] No sealant required on the seals, they self grip once pushed in
  6. The front is easy, it just pushes in. The rear is a bit of a ball ache, as it pushes in, but has a lip that has to get under the glass
  7. Yes mate, I already have a new front windscreen seal, the rear is currently en route through amayama [emoji106]
  8. Feels like I'm getting somewhere now, unfortunately I couldn't play yesterday, but I've welded up the rear washer hole on the tailgate, removed the rear quarter glass, blocked everything back down, and got it in 2k primer today. All things being well, should see colour next weekend [emoji16] Definitely glad I decided to delete the aerial, rear wiper and rear wash.
  9. I've got 19x9.5 et30 on the rear, with a 265 tyre. Mine just about clear, and my arches are slightly rolled. I reckon your offset is the issue, as mentioned above
  10. I started having a go at the drivers side yesterday, and decided to stop as I snapped the only snap off blade knife I had, and it was becoming far too much of a ball ache. I'll get it in primer, and re-evaluate after that, depending how well the masking goes
  11. And I've spent today deleting the rear wiper hole on the tailgate, blocking the entire body down, and spot priming the various bare metal and filled areas. A couple of hours of prep left, and it's ready for primer [emoji106]
  12. So I spent yesterday getting the tailgate off (awkward bastard thing to do on your own), masking everything up, and doing the various repairs around the body. It's amazing how many imperfections you find when you're looking for them!
  13. Thanks matey, I just hope the rest comes out as nice [emoji23]
  14. The 496 is also a hs clear. I tend to lay a mist coat, then a medium wet, then a full wet with about 30mins flash in between - of course this greatly depends on temperature.
  15. Yeah please mate, that would be good [emoji106]
  16. Yes, invariably without a proper booth and extraction, there will always be shit landing in it. But, wet sanding and buffing normally takes care of it [emoji106]
  17. If you have the clips to go with the jesus handle, I'll take it please bud! I removed mine a while back, and broke the clips as I couldn't work out how it came apart [emoji23]
  18. Yes mate, I get my paint from a local supplier, who mix it on the premises, and isn't branded per se, apart from their own label on the tin. The clear I'm using is autoclear 496, and goes on lovely [emoji106] I've also heard good things about max meyer paints, but I've never used them.
  19. Thanks dude, of course I will, but I won't be back there until Saturday. I only get weekends to work on it, as it's not my day job
  20. Cap the ports with silicone caps, I think they're either 16mm or 19mm, although I can't remember - it was a long time ago that my car was still twins! Most people replace the 'accordion' hoses with silicone, you can get kits through whifbitz, or just remove them and measure yourself - 52mm springs to mind. The other vacuum lines are mostly a combination of 3mm and 4mm id, with a couple of 6mm and 8mm. For the cost of vacuum hose, you're better off just buying a metre of each, and using what fits best
