  1. Story goes that the NA inlet flows much better and more evenly than the TT version. This is probably why those changing to the TT inlet arrangement have seen a drop in power if doing nothing else at the same time.
  2. I'm confused Rich (happens all the time). You're talking about removing a spring from the wastegate but I thought the wastegate in the kit came pre-sprung at 7psi which AFAIK is a single spring. Did you special order with a higher spring rate?
  3. What was the actual turnout for this meet? It's only 20 miles from me and may be able to get there in June.
  4. Will do. As soon as I get in the same place as the rims (about 6000 miles apart at the moment ).
  5. I have a set of 19" Mille Miglia Evo split rims which were bought from photos knowing that they needed a refurb. All of the rims are in pretty good condition (good enough to run-out the tyres that came with them before the refurb) but they have what I think may be a bigger problem. Both rear rims are fine and are spigotted to the same diameter (about 65mm IIRC) but the front rims have the issue. One front rim is spigotted 72mm but not a huge problem as I can always get a special set of spigot rings made. However the other front rim is "spigotted" about 120mm diameter which runs past the bolt PCD and has broken through (you can just see a pin-prick) between the spokes. Maybe someone was trying to increase the offset. Unfortunately the photos used in the purchase failed to show this issue. Does anyone know of a refurb shop that can weld up and re-machine this single rim or are the only alternatives to find another rim / scrap the whole set?
  6. Would be so funny is he/she came back to find a rusty old Honda 50 leaning against it
  7. Seeing this has got me thinking (makes a change I suppose). Before I start on my NA-T project it would be good to get a baseline of where the car is before I start. In the UK I'm in Holbeach, S.Lincs which makes the nearest places of any size Peterborough and Boston. Does anyone know of anywhere reasonably close to me that can do a quick dyno run so I can impress myself with the power gains after the work is finished. The car is almost 20 years old with a listed 225 at the crank so right now anything over 150 rwhp would be a bonus.
  8. Have you read through this? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?177475-How-To-Front-amp-Rear-Suspension-Change-Aftermarket-Coilovers-Adjustment
  9. Seems that the only way to lower the shocks you have is to reduce the spring height by screwing up the spring perch (the top nut). This will also stiffen up the suspension as the force to start compression of the spring increase in line with the amount of pre-compression. To lock the spring perch in position you have to hold it still with one C spanner and tighten the locking ring against it with a second C spanner.
  10. Try water spray onto the intercooler matrix. Significant increase in heat transfer efficiency and can be triggered on inlet temperature.
  11. Sounds like a shift solenoid failure which has caused the box to go into "Limp Home" mode.
  12. V Power for me, Turbo, NA and V8, but you will get more horses with Tesco.
  13. I'm planning to put BCs on my Soarer Project, are KW really that much better?

    Soarer Guy

Hi all, I guess that you can tell from the thread title that I don't have a Supra, but that's no fault of my own. Way back when I was looking at Supras a mate with a modified TT suggested that something more of a big cruiser would suit an older type guy with a case of mid-life crisis. Well thanks to that mate (Chris Henderson) I'm now simultaneously on my 3rd, 4th and 5th Soarers and through retirement (early retirement, I'm not quite ready for the bus pass yet!) I finally have the time to indulge myself with a project. It's the project that has brought me here as I've been holding onto a JZZ31 3.0L NA Soarer for over a year with the plan to go NA-T. Although I'm pretty active on the #1 Soarer forum (anyone whose been there will recognise the user name) there's not much in the way of NA-T stuff over here in the UK for the JZZ31 (I only know of 1 NA-T JZZ31 and that was done over in Japan before import) so I'm going to be relying a lot on you guys for the advice that can only come from experience. Thanks in advance ........ Hope these don't go down like a turd in a swimming pool but can't resist. 96 JZZ30 VVTI Single Turbo, Daily Driver 94 UZZ32 V8 Active Suspension, #821 of 873 ever made and (AFAIK) the latest BoB 32 in the UK. 95 JZZ31 3.0L, the Project Car.
