1. Loving this! Where did you get the seat covers from? And how much?
2. Ok i did think it a bit strange. I will only use the primer if i attempt this on other parts. I think that i will only be doing this on small parts in future.
3. Ok ... well that is what it "should" have had when it came out the factory. Probs down to about 200hp due to age and mechanical losses etc. Feasible?
4. I no exactly what you mean about bloody muppets. I think it is the rear wing that does it. Some idiots think that it means i want a race when i am just cruising along window down listening to the exhaust note. I normally just let ppl get on with it as the last thing i want to do is damage my car in anyway shape or form. I have had a few ppl race up behind me trying to see what the badge is on the back. Then they see the toyota badge and have the same blank expession as previously described. I even had a white van play along side me on the motorway and wind down his window at 70mph to shout across asking what car it was. He still had a blank expression after i told him. At the end of the day the majority of the muppets are little ricers in their saxos, fiestas or corsas. Stone wall fact: Saxo, Fiesta or Corsa with a 1.4l engine plus dustbin sized exhaust is not going to out run a 3.0l straight six with 220bhp (yes i have a NA too) going to the back wheels. NO CONTEST. And therefore no need to prove it! Rant over! (BTW if someone mentions power to weight ratio i will kill them. Yes the supra may be heavy but it ain't that heavy!)
5. I used the 3M di-noc stuff with the 3M primer and 3M mounting glue. Should i have used the 3M mounting glue? Starting to think i maybe should not have used the mounting glue
6. Thanx for the info dave but i think i do not think that i am going to do this myself anymore. Reason: I completed the ashtray on saturday and placed it back in the car on sunday. Parked at work yesterday and came out to the car about 5 ish only to find the sun beating down on the car and the ashtray ... only so it was warm inside the car and found that the lid had developed some air bubbles and the corners had come away where it had been stretched! Needless to say i was not pleased. On all the edges i used the proper 3M primer but it didn't seem to help.
7. Wow. Thats a good price for all that. Does that include removing the rubberised paint on it to? (i only ask because i have removed it from the ashtray and manual surround but not the other dash panels yet) Could you to do it in a matt effect carbon fibre? And instead of doing the arm rest cover would you be able to do the passenger and drivers window switch surrounds? I am seriously considering this.
8. defo interested if its got all its clips etc. PM me your paypal details and its a done deal.
9. Just as a bit of a side question. How much would you charge to do the following in suede? manual gear surround main dash panels (control switch surround, dial surround and ignition surround bit) upper dash panel just curious at this point.
10. Any pics m8? (how far back you including) Is it a standard air filter? (brand etc.) I am interested as current airbox cover is broken.
11. UPDATE: Got all the necessary bits to do the ash tray lid on saturday and gave it a go. Before: After: Not happy with how the corners came out tho. as seen here. It was a real PITA to do these curved corners. You cannot see the lower corners when the part is in the car as it looks awesome. (problem is that i know the corners are not brilliant!) It took me about an hour just to do this. But i am putting that down to the corners and a learning curve.
12. Its still in the early development stage but IMO it looks awesome even at this stage.
13. That looks awesome. I am going for the non high gloss stuff. I don't want it to reflect. Interested in the suede covering though.
14. Just seen the first pics of the next gen aston martin DBS. 550bhp V12 wrapped in a package like this ... i think DBS is short for DribBleS, which is exactly what i do when i look at these beasties.
