  1. I was just wondering if it is a common problem with the supra or if someone has done a rubbish speedo conversion. When travelling at around 70mph (from sat nav) my speedo actually reads just over 80mph. Now this is a good thing because if i stick to my speedo then i will never get a speeding ticket! (if i follow the limit that is). My supra is an SZ-R and was imported. The speedo has been converted and but the limiter has been left on. (don't know if its relevant but the clock still reads and counts in Km; i have checked this and it is pretty accurate) What i want to know is can get a unit that will do a better job of speed conversion and delimit it at the same time? Or does anyone know of a good garage in the east midlands that will do this for me?
  2. Cool, Don't mind supplying parts. Will have to hit them up when i get some parts i need fitting (or if i cannot be bothered to do it myself)
  3. No. I have an SZ-R and its 5speed BTW Nice car and welcome to the club. Torsen diff is well worth it on the supra
  4. Cheers for the info guys - - - Updated - - - Now this would be best for me as i live in ripley. (is it your supra in pics on the website? orange and black) What sort of stuff have you had done there?
  5. Can anyone recommend to me a good supra friendly garage in the east midlands? Need some work done on my baby. Also good to know ready for when its ready for a good service and MOT. Any help would be useful.

    First Supra

I had always wanted a supra ever since i used to play Gran Turismo of the ol' playstation. (Geek info: i used to power slide it round the trial mountain circuit and watch the beautiful, for the time, graphics on the replay). Always loved the lines of the car and the fact that it was a rarity to see them in this country. Anyway, got mine at the begining of the year after i made a decision that i was having it before me and the missus settled down. Sold the idea to the missus when i said we will go touring round europe in it for our honeymoon in september this year.
  7. Ok cheers guys. Now does anyone know where i am likely to be able to get these parts from (other than Mr.T) I like the idea of having all the original toolkit.
  8. Just wondering if someone could help me out with what should actually be included in the standard toyota tool kit thats in the boot. I have a few tools like the jack and wrench and couple of spanners but it looks like there are a few bits missing. I haven't got any pics but if someone knows exactly what should be in the tool kits then i will be able to work it out via process of elimination.
  9. Now you see ... thats the last thing we need! We need to keep all the supras we can, its not like they are common place in this land. Everyone enjoys a supra ... the presence, the smooth styling, the fact that onlookers have no idea what it is that they are drooling over, etc. etc.
  10. This is my opinion. Always wanted a supra but could not afford a TT version. Love the lines. Love the way it rides. As you said, its was NA or no way for me. Hence why i ended up with a 94 SZ-R 5-speed. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
  11. As a car guy, there is nothing worse than finding out that someone has damaged your car. I would much rather people damage me than my car. I have the basic human characteristic of being able to repair myself (for free). Unfortunately cars do not have this property yet. There is no excuse for people messing with other peoples property. Karma comes back around ... the people that did this will soon see!
  12. Should be pretty straight forward question and answer really. I need to know what size bolt to put on my exhaust. I am decating (first one) my NA and will probs need new bolts etc. just want to get the heads up and see if i have some that i can "borrow" from work. permanent /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif
  13. Depending on its service history and who previously owned it, all the oils and fluids and i mean engine oil, transmission oil, diff oil, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid etc. (plus relevant filters, fuel and oil etc) You would be surprised how much of a difference a loving fluid change can make to the car. Other than that. Any pics to see its current condition / state of presence? [EDIT] and i would also make sure that all the sub-frame bolts are properly torqued up.
  14. This is very tempting. Where abouts in the west midlands are you?
  15. PM'd Just out of curiousity, where did you get the custom leather seats from? Very smart
  16. best thing in my tool box is WD-40. Can be used for everything from loosening bolts to cleaning etc. etc. makes everything easier. Other than that a good socket set with a torque wrench and a wad of elbow grease
  17. When you say its "good condition" does it have any rips, burns, marks etc? Interested in this pal. Do all three of the horn buttons still work?
  18. Nice respray job there. Like the change of wheels too.
  19. I was driving south bound on saturday evening saw it on the opposite side at a glance. Only had enough time to blink it and caught the silver paint and the huge rear wing. Looked very tidy though.
  20. Hello all, can anyone tell me what the specific sizes of the standard J-spec discs are and the UK spec discs. I cannot tell if my car has the J-specs or has been upgraded to the UK specs. My car is a 94' SZ-R import but the last owner told me it had been fitted with the bigger brakes. I just need to be sure of sizes before i go buying replacement pads and discs.
