  1. Just coming to work today and was thinking about changing my exhaust system back to stock (but double decat) Gave it a few beans to see if i still like the noise of my current exhaust (which i still do!) and then clunk. got to work and had a look i don't think there is any welding this back on so i think my mind about changing the exhaust has been made for me!
  2. i always put fully synthetic 10W40 in mine. Although the stresses in the NA are not as high as the TT you can get away with semi synthetic 5W40 or 5W30. I would stick with the 10W40 tho.

    White smoke

yeah fix that! i knew what i meant ... shame no one else did.
  4. try cleaning the ICV, there is a thread on here of how to. although if it is not struggling then leave it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just seen it has already been posted above
  5. 1. the heat shield around the 1st and 2nd cat are notorious for getting rusty and vibrating against the actual exhaust. you can remove the heat shield from the second cat easily and heat wrap it. (there is also a small additional heat shield at the joint between down pipe and 2nd cat pipe that always rattles and is easy to remove) 2. trying pumping the brakes before you come to a stop next time it may just be the j-spec brakes are a little seized (failing that just change the disc) 3. from my NA i tend to get around 23~24mpg on short runs and just under 30 mpg long runs (O2 sensors are easy to change / clean, and can improve response and mpg slightly) 4. make sure that you have oil (and its not eating it) and check that you use the correct coolant and have some in the expansion bottle (toyota red coolant)

    White smoke

white smoke is always coolant/water related. Now i would fix the leak above the engine because it will leak down through the head in to the ignition chamber. I would honestly think that should fix it. Unless there is a lot of white smoke coming out the back i would not worry. I used to worry about a similar white smoke problem that only occurred once a week and only when the car was warm for about 5 mins. Was very strange. Turned out that when i cleaned it some water would go into the back box and sit there until the exhaust heated up.
  7. all look very nice guys. I will have to invest in these i think. It sure beats the standard setup. - - - Updated - - - Quick question: Why does it not look like your needles light up?
  8. is it possible to link it to the current dimmer switch easily? just a thought
  9. Depending on when you want the supra i can offer up mine. Its a 94' NA, SZ-R 5speed, got the TORSEN diff and the yellow bilstein suspension and only done approx 64,000 miles (103,000km) Now i am not dead keen on getting rid right now as i love her to bits and its my daily driver. Was looking for something in the region of 3k (but would come down a little for a member) i don't have a for sale thread up as this is the first i have thought about selling her as the wife and i are thinking about starting a family. (i know of child seats that fit in the sup but the wife doesn't approve of driving a child around in a sports car). If you are interested then you can come have a look anytime as we are only in Derby (although not over the next 2wks as we are away on honeymoon as of saturday 8th sept) either way m8, good look with your search and welcome to the club.
  10. ok cool. Cheers guys. Quick question to anyone. Where did you mount or place the dimmer and colour controller?
  11. Hello, just want to find out if anyone has got a white glow dial kit fitted to their sup like this? how easy is it to install and what does it look like on the car (green or blue setting). PICS? Thinking of getting this to fit unless someone else has had issues or recommends something else.
  12. gorgeous car in a great setting its kind of steam punk with all the old industrial chain knocking around. LOVE IT1:cool:
  13. quick update. managed to sort the steering wheel out. I tell you now that it took an awful lot of tugging to get it off (i thank you!) didn't take any pictures of it but it looked as tho someone had put silicone sealant in the tabs to make up for the fact that there is no securing screw. anyway it is sorted now. (why is nothing i do ever freakin' easy?) maybe its me
  14. ok here it is. With no screw and front still will not come off are there clips that you cannot see also?
  15. i did ask for it to be fair thanks for the messages of support guys. LOL But honestly i think i may break it if i yank it. dunno what to do now. thought someone might know of a little trick or something but looks like a yank is where its at.
  16. come on guys. help me! you can even tell me that i am being a d**k and should just yank out
  17. i have a very strange feeling that i am being stupid about this whole thing. Background, Bought a Celica st202 steering wheel with centre (non-airbag type) off a member on here as shown below. Wheel arrived as shown below in very good condition and assembled. BUT I cannot remove the front cover bit of the wheel (where to the horn is) to get it on my bloody car. Now i looked in the obvious place (as shown in the dis-assembly image) to remove the retaining screw but there is no screw there. top left image in image Can someone please assist my complete thickness and tell me how to remove the bloody front cover so i can fit this to my car (for info, i have an aftermarket nardi one on at the moment complete with boss kit and thats how it was when i bought it)
  18. Interested in this also. Mine would benefit from new wheel bearings too
  19. check the Idle control valve. They can get pretty clogged up sometimes and tend to loosen off when warm. Its an easy thing to do and check. the link to do it is here Hope this helps.
  20. i think a weight reduction is on the card for my NA
  21. Remind me never to buy a car off you. LOL Now that is proper abuse. I feel bad if i don't service mine (or at least do an oil change) after 6 months!
  22. OK. Nice tip that. Just out of wanting to be completely sure about the bolt size i need. Is it an M10x1.25 bolt that i need? (hopefully still fresh in your memory?)
