  1. Ok guys a quick update. Managed to fix the rattle without removing all the heat shield. Found that the first heat shield after the first CAT had broken near the fixing point. Ripped it off (being careful to leave the sensor wire harness still attached) and roberts your fathers brother. Back to sounding sweet as a nut!
  2. That would be bloody marvelous! The cover and latch itself are only attached using 5 screws. (easy to get at when lid is open) As long as the latch thingy is undamaged i will take it. paypal payment as a gift?
  3. Is that posted? I don't know if i could justify to myself paying that out when all i need is the little plastic latch. Let me know what condition its in nxt week and i will gauge how much mine is annoying me. cheers for letting me know.
  4. how much are you looking for it? I have asked a few others about just the clip but everyone wants rid of the whole console, which i imagine is difficult and costly to post?
  5. just out of interest what size/amount of sheet did you use to do this? EDIT: just realised that the bloody main dash surround (dials, heater controls etc) comes off in 3 bits.[ blonde moment ] But what was the largest size of sheet you ordered?
  6. Will keep you posted about the progress but i don't think i will have much time this wkend to do anything. (even if all the parts arrive today or tomorrow) First port of call will be the ashtray and the passenger window switch surround. My idea is to start small and get the technique nailed. I thought that the manual gear surround would be tricky?
  7. NOW SORTED Reposting this becuase i now have found some pics of exactly what i need. I only need the crappy little latch for the centre console because mine is broken. someone please tell me you have this part available as it is one of these small things that has been really getting to me for ages. people must have stripped these out in the past
  8. ok m8 cheers for the info. Where abouts in leicester are you? Only up the road in derbys
  9. Ok i got the primer as well. Need to make sure i do a good job and it lasts. Cannot have i peeling off again in the blisteringly hot british summers! Quick question to the guys who have done it before: Which section of the dash is the trickiest to do?
  10. Ok so i bought some of this with the 3M spray mount and am gonna give it a go when i have a chance. Trying it out on the ash tray lid bit first and see how we go. How hard can it be? lol
  11. How much for the door card delivered? Or is this price (£35) for both door card and centre console cover+latch undelivered?
  12. OK After trudging thru ebay i have narrowed it down to these 2 options for the material? 1. Here 2. or here thinking the 3M stuff is probably the better option atm. What do you guys think?
  13. What condition is the drivers side door card in? Any tears or rips? (not bothered about the switches just the door card) Is the centre console cover and latch in good working order? How much for both posted?
  14. As in the title i am looking for an undamaged drivers side door card. Does not have to include switches (as i already have them) cheers
  15. Where did you get the stuff from to do your panels? And did you do the inserts on the steering wheel or was it already like that?
  16. Could someone point me in the right direction of the best stuff to get to DIY-it? Really want to give this a go but if i am taking the time (and money) to do it then i don't want it to look rubbish. Also i want a satin type finish and not high gloss. Any preferences from people on here?
  17. OK cool. So i have been looking on ebay and seen some carbon effect vinyl that is self adhesive. Could i not use that? Or do you recommend the non self adhesive stuff and glue? BTW i like the look and the steering wheel.
  18. Hello everybody, I have been thinking about vinyl covering my dash etc. with the carbon fibre effect stuff and was wanting to know a few things first. I have spent ages removing the rubberised paint off the panels and cannot decide whether to paint or vinyl cover. First of all, it looks pretty easy to do but does it look good? It looks pretty easy to remove if you mess it up a bit, but does that mean that the stuff will peel after a couple of hot days in summer? Is it relatively hard wearing? If i do decide to do it does anyone know/remember what sheet dimension / amount i need to do the following: Ashtray cover Manual gear surround Main dash panel Window switch panel (both driver and passenger) I know a few ppl have done this on here butjust wanting to pick your brains.
  19. Cheers I was looking at updating all the lights and everything anyway. Just need to find a facelift bumper now
  20. I have decided after spending alot of time and effort and blood and sweat crawling under my car and working on heer that i need a new friend with a car lift. I might just be me but i do love working on my supra but hate the crap involved with constantly jacking it up, putting axle stands under it and blah blah ... Let alone worrying if my beloved car may crush me if i get a little forceful with a wrench and breaker bar etc. Just wondering if there is anyone in the east midlands area with a car lift that i could use maybe twice a year?
  21. Hello, Simple question. Will the facelift front bumper directly replace a non-facelift bumper? Current bumper is warping and looking to get facelift one (along with updating the headlights and front indicators/sidelights etc). I have a stock Jap-import SZ-R and don't want to butcher it too much. If they can be directly changed then ... Next question would be does anyone have a good condition facelift bumper? (any colour as i would get it resprayed)
  22. Sweet baby jesus! Its lower than a smack heads morals! Can tell that there are no speed bumps near u
