What Christmas presents have you bought your Supra?

santa brought me a gopro also treated myself to some UK front discs, yellow pads, TT diffmount and bolt, and I've ordered some UK rears to start off gathering parts to change the rears too. all this is to get my car how I want it for 2014. soooo much to do! these stainless bolts folks are using on UK brakes, anyone have the sizes to hand? fancy doing that, good idea. -
totally understand mate I rate them but lots on here slagged off EBC when I did a search- but it wasn't clear which colour EBC's they didn't like. I like them because I get no fade when hot and they work very well from cold- handy on a sprint car. I also used them on my old track FWD celica and they were great on that too. All IMHO of course, some avoid EBC like the plague. I've seen terrible results with green, I myself have used black on the road (mk2 celica) they were fine, red were ok (FWD track celica) but not very good from cold in my experience.

rob if you would consider second hand (not everyone's cup of tea I know) I should hopefully be going uk soon, so the yellowstuff front pads would be available if you're interested. not sure how much beef is left on them until I remove them though. only been on 12 months and I do less than 5000 miles a year, 5 sprints and one track day.
-
thanks for the info chris, i appreciate it. i suppose its make my mind up time. some of the sprint tracks i do can be up to 3 miles, and i do come in very hot. but i only have NA power so closing speeds not massive!
-
Very tempted. Very very tempted. And good when hot too? note when i do go to the odd track day, being a sprinter, i get tired easily so i'm usually only out 10 laps or less (unless its wet and therefore quiet!)
-
Chris, do your fast road pads work well from cold? what's the price on just a front UK axle set? don't wanna sh!t before my knickers are down with the rears. Cheers
-
ah the death proof nova! awesome.
-
yep, and if you ebay that part number they are about a tenner delivered. fit zafira's and stuff. I think I picked up a dayco one for about 6-8 quid. my engine stand feels inadequate too no such attachments.

they must be doing xmas discount LOL I got my UK front discs for £38 each. just want to decide what pads to order to go with them now.
-
alright mate, just FYI I checked my old wheels today for another member- those falkens were not FK452's, they were zeix ze512's. pob a cheap, sh!tty equivalent lol. ignore my previous comments

Rob, this is quite a good tool. I've used it to get a good idea in the past: http://www.willtheyfit.com/

old thread bump. hope this is ok, I have a few questions on the same subject. I'm doing some research on pads as I plan to change mine to UK's soon- so a question to the EBC people- are these all experiences with yellowstuff??? the reason I ask is I've used them on a previous sprint car (2.0 FWD celica) and I have them currently on my Jspecs on the soop, and I think they're great. on the celica they were far better than stock or pagid fast road pads. on the soop I had mintex pads (road ones I think, not fancy ones) when I first bought the car and they were good cold, but any sort of heat and they faded quite badly. when I swapped them to yellowstuff I had none of that, and the cold performance was equally good if not better than the mintex. best thing IMHO is that the yellows work so well from cold- as I have strange requirements! I drive the car lots on the road, but the main requirement is for sprints, IE one lap from stone cold, and i also do the odd track day too- so I also need ones that can take the heat every now and then. can anyone who has used chris Wilson or Porterfield pads let me know what their cold performance was like? I was going to go with yellowstuff again because I have had such good experience with them, but thought I'd ask before parting with my hard earned. I'll be running brand new mrT blank discs and flushing through more fresh motul RBF600 fluid when I do the job. thanks in advance.

that big block boss is lovely. i'm a massive fan of pretty much all mucular yanks, also liked hot rods as a kid and modded 50's chevys (55-58). great to see we have a 55 in the club! also good to see that '68 ish (i'm not great with years) firebird from coffee and cars- those often get forgotten about, those and the trans-am versions, as everyone loves the camaro best (same body). if i had to pick one.......... it'd prob be a '70 'cuda, or a '70 challenger, but this is due to change on a daily basis http://www.barrett-jackson.com/staging/carlist/items/Fullsize/Cars/63832/63832_Rear_3-4_Web.jpg i will have one, for one year only, when i'm ready for a break from the track, just to get it out of my system. i nearly had a wobble this time last year when a '68 mustang coupe came up local, and when i checked the dimensions i'm pretty sure it was the same width and only 2" longer than my soop. i had visions of something like this in my head! http://image.mustangandfords.com/f/featuredvehicles/1964_1973_mustang/mdmp_1006_1968_ford_mustang_coupe_gateway_classic_mustang_restoration/28924003/mdmp_1006_07_o%2B1968_ford_mustang_coupe%2Bside_view.jpg one day, maybe. it must happen before death.

nice post ash. just did a quick search think this is one of the threads I read: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?266866-The-proper-way-of-deleting-the-air-con-pump&highlight=aircon+removal
-
i'm pretty sure this one has lots of good info on a search- did it myself a while back. i'll hopefully be doing mine in the new year- not a total stripout but just a few engine bay bits. the main point i remember is that the cradle that the aircon pump sits in also braces the PAS pump. you an either knock up an alternative or take the AC pump from the cradle and just fit that on its own. after a lick of green paint of course the threads on the search also have the part number for the shorter aux belt you'll need.

might be worth checking what heat rating will be suitable when you add gas- as you normally have to step it up a notch or two. would seem a shame to have to change them again in the near future that's all.
-
i've heard others say that- i thought they were pretty crap to be honest- but the car came with them on, and also it had the fullruns on the front, so not sure how old they are! still have them as a pair of spares on some old fox rims for if i ever need them lol. good choice- i personally love the motorsportness of the white, but if you want evil, either of those will look brill.
-
super! i'll pop round later- please note the coffee is no longer tepid though ha ha I've never ran toyo's (that aren't 888's) myself- although my peers tend to report great grip for the money but they do have a high wear rate. I would try them myself if offered a deal, but I am used to conti sports so sticking with those at the moment. ooh they sound very fancy only michelins i ever ran were pilot exalto's but they were very good. not as much dry grip as some other tyres i'd had at that time (IE yoko paradas) but in the wet / damp they were superb and much better than the yoko. never heard anyone be disapointed with michelin when on track. except a few moans about the price lol. TBH I'd wait to see what supra owners say about the tyres as I've limited experience so far on the soop (only fullrun (!) falken 452 (!- think they were old though) and cont sport 2 / 3). have you decided for sure what colour your going for on the wheels yet?

ouch. are they genuine toyota discs? would be interested what make if not so I can avoid them! -
fair enough mate, although i was gonna offer £27.36, half a tepid mug of coffee and a long, thin yellow quality street! R888's are noisy that's for sure. a nice sticky conti or michelin should be a comfortable altenative

a top bloke indeed..... same experience when i collected my exhaust a long time ago. top fella! damn straight skippy lol
