-
ahhHHHhh I see ha ha probably a bit more of a difference than that in reality mate, I imagine many have escaped over its 20 years
-
awesome. and much much nicer than my S series one. although mine was only £3.75 to build. it has had a donated square glass top fitted since this pic. homer- that NA did you proud sir!

why can't my na do that???

anything is possible with the right amount of money! but this sums up the reasons not to 400 BHP gives it 133 BHP / Litre, the kart engine I work on gives 352 BHP / Litre. remember that thing is rebuilt every 5 mins to maintain that output I'd imagine a highly stressed NA race spec engine in a street car could be a pain in the arse. as someone said could well be NOS if it is putting out 400. the displacement replacement for the chemical generation.

Bolt In Roll Cage- Anyone Fitted One Themselves into a Mk4?
Dan_Q replied to Dan_Q's topic in Supra Chat
No probs mate and cheers for the advice. That's cool, it looks like i'll prob go full time harnesses- a first for me, so far in this and my last 2 sprint cars I've always managed to keep the stock belt for getting to and from the track. Ha ha cheers pal, I must admit I had to double check my posts incase I sounded like an a55hole. -
Awesome thread dig up! Nice to see a pic of my mates old car there, forgot just how nice that thing was.

Bolt In Roll Cage- Anyone Fitted One Themselves into a Mk4?
Dan_Q replied to Dan_Q's topic in Supra Chat
I didn't want this thread to go down this route, but it appears it has anyway. I believe that it will be safer than not having one. My supra is a sprint car. The regs for the class I run in restrict me to bolt ins. -

Bolt In Roll Cage- Anyone Fitted One Themselves into a Mk4?
Dan_Q replied to Dan_Q's topic in Supra Chat
Okey dokey cheers- that might be the only way. No offence but I don't want this thread to turn into specifics about the pro's / con's of a cage etc etc i;m well beyond that to the point i've researched, selected, have the kit and i'm now on the home straight of asking about the specifics of how to fit one. Apologies if that seemed selfish. Totally agree with bignum's reply but i'll also add- just because a material can change shape it doesn't necessairy mean it is weak- next time you have a window seat on a passenger jet, watch the wing tip for example. OK so if you roll the car- and somehow get the impact force at such an angle that it acts on the rear stays, then yes, it *could* punch through the skin- unlikely- but if it does, nothing will become loose inside the car as the outer crushes into the cage- if anything closing up its gap where it *could* escape. Because of this, that's how you won't end up with loose parts flying around you cabin, or "blender" as you put it. Also the roll over hoop on my one (main rigidity point) is that tight fit that I had to kick it into place, so its a very snug fit, and bolts directly to the floor right next to the sill boxes- rigid area. -

brilliant, cheers for the tips mate Good tips cheers mate nice one- on top of the carpet???? wow- this one wouldn't even fit with the carpet (i tried when i first bought it to make sure it was the right one) its that snug fit with the roof. Thanks for the luck mate, I'm going to need it I don't think so mate. Anyhow back to my cage- do either of you have any pics of the feet bolted in place so i can have a look just for peace of mind? mine is slaved into the shell now and i'm getting closer to having to make an "incision." Also, have either of you run stock belts with the cage in? It appears that mine encroaches on the movement of the upper belt mount- I could space it out a couple of inches to clear but I'm not keen. I'd love to retain my stock belt for use on the road you see. -

its really as simple as that? superb! cheers mate really appreciate the reply so the flat plates inside the rear arch go in flat? and did you weld any of the plates to the underside or have they been fine just bolted in? cheers fella -
sounds a pain to me- but I ain't very organised! I wouldn't want to not run any car for months just because lack of use doesn't really do any car any good, but that's just me Dan likes this

forum owned track supras, register and chat thread.
Dan_Q replied to dr_jekyll's topic in Supra Chat
ah fair enough pal- welcome back to the fold, hope to see you out there with a soop again in the future though -
Although I try and use mine at least once a week all year round, it normally stays put in the snow! Although last year my daily needed stuff for MOT in Feb so I had to use my soop for a week or so, as long as your careful as others have said, should be fine Not a bad idea getting a little corsa though if you have enough time, space and cash to maintain another car.

Ah cheers for that mate- sounds like I'm using the same ones, with the tab at the back. Bl00dy hate them ha ha. If you ever find a reasonably priced solution let me know- I'm tempted to make some up from off the shelf rosejoints etc but can't always guarantee the quality of them I guess. Love the go pro- I prob sound like a kid here but I'm asking the missus and the family for cash for xmas towards getting one thanks for posting the vids- your control of oversteer has me green with envy, I'd love to be able to drive like that one day. I did started practising at the last event I did, it isn't easy! respect. welcome back sir ha ha nope I didn't make cottesmore, first TSS I missed believe it was epically quick, and yeah I bet you needed a change of undercrackers after that matey! was It caught on camera? -
Hi all, Apologies if there is info on this elsewehere but I've been searching for a long time and haven't found the info I need just yet- if somebody knows of a decent thread covering this please point me in the right direction I have a rear cage to bolt in to my supra, I'm just finishing off my seat frame so this afternoon I started weighing up the job. The roll over hoop seems pretty simple- back corners of the floor besides the B pillar, with a sandwich plate underneath (i'll prob have these welded in for peace of mind). However, the rear struts which bolt onto the inner rear arch tubs is confusing me a little- the instructions I have are in Japanese which doesn't help. The cage comes with plates which I assume you either sandwich underneath or locate on the top, but for a start they are flat, and I can't see a way of getting behind this panel for fasteners as it seems double skinned? I could be totally wrong on that! It was going dark. If anyone on here has fitted their own and has a thread, has pics of the feet of theirs installed, or can help in any way I'd appreciate it. I'm normally not too bad with the old spanners but I'm lacking in confidence on this one and want to ask the questions first before I make a pigs ear out of it! Thanks in advance, Dan.

Whats the stupidest diy job you've done on your supra/car???
Dan_Q replied to Clinton's topic in Supra Chat
Sorry to drag up an old thread, doing a search for something unrelated and this came up- great read! Some absolute crackers in here not strictly true........... as long as you don't earth by leaning on the car body with your other hand its fine isn't it?* I assume you've had a good old belt of HT through you mate *disclaimer- if it hurts its not Dan_Q's fault Aside from forgetting to nip up wheel nuts more than once, only one other springs to mind at the mo (i'm sure there's more). I had a Gen 5 celica for 8 years, and early ish on in ownership, the passenger window stopped working. No grinds or noises, just stopped altogether. A few weeks (could have been months) later, after researching what to check, I realised that the window lock button was pressed on the drivers side. That'l be it then. To add insult to injury, exactly the same thing happened years later, towards the end of ownership. The girlfriend I had this time smoked, so I got it in the ear about the window not working. For some reason it only dawned on me by the time the passenger door card was half off......... yep i'd accidentally pressed the window lock button again. Any more for any more? -
Variety of Supras needed for 'Japanese Performance' magazine feature
Dan_Q replied to Supra_Scott's topic in Supra Chat
I don't think my car will fit the bill, but if they are looking for folk who have modified them in different ways then it might be of use. Mine is a stock engine and drivetrain NA with chassis mods only, built for me to learn RWD on the track. Here's a snap of me getting it wrong at snetterton. It will be pulled apart in the next few weeks for tweaks for 2014, but in the unlikliness they are interested in a look before then i'd be up for it. Again, some great cars in this thread- love that supercharged one -
very very good mate. looking awesome

rich- just caught up on the last 4 months or so, brill work! I love the attention to detail and thought that has gone into your conversion. I look forward to more updates and hope you get many reliable miles out of it, looking at the job you've done I can't see why you wouldn't. enjoy fella!
