  1. Loving how you are documenting this build mate, great to read! Going very well now, keep it up.
  2. Well I have it running in TTC mode at the moment and its not really changed much still hit or miss if the boost comes in, it did get to 0.6 bar tonight though unlike the usual 0.5. If it was boost leak surely it would not get boost all the time instead of getting boost sometimes?
  3. Yeh I think it was sat for a while before i purchased it and was in my shed for about a month. Hopefully is just the VSV.
  4. Thanks for the response mate. I have checked the lines and they appear to be ok but have ordered new replacements to be sure, also got some replacement VSV coming also. Going to try putting the car in TTC mode tomorrow to bypass the VSV.
  5. Looking for some help with a few teething issues I'm having after converting my car to a Twin Turbo. The car fires up and runs absolutely fine but it does have boost issues. When you first start the car and go for a drive the first turbo comes online and makes 0.5 bar (which after research I think is normal for bpu?), after a few minutes and times of coming on boost it then just randomly stops making boost at all. The strange thing is if you then turn the car off and leave it a few minutes and jump back in and drive the 1st turbo will then work again for a few minutes and then stop. The next problem is the second turbo has not come online at all, although i am unsure if this is because of the first turbo problem. Has anyone come across this before?
  6. I cant actually spot the difference in 1 and 2 but I prefer number 3, breaks up the leather a bit.
  7. Great car you have there the red is growing on me. Im not sure how much your spares are worth but I'm in need of a couple bits from the standard fuel system if you would split them. Looking for a FPR with rubber vacuum pipe and also the metal hard pipe off the bottom of the FPR.
  8. The engine itself is definitely a J-spec engine It was more the turbos I was wondering about. The 1st decat was just to small to bolt up.
  9. Hi all just wondering if there is a way you can check to see if an engine has UK turbos? Reason I ask is have just fitted a TT engine to my na which I presumed was a j spec because of the ECU. However after going to fit the decat I have it would appear to be far too small. Am I right in thinking the UK spec uses a larger diameter decat?
  10. Well after looking again I think I have managed to find it (Would do after posting this ). I believe it is Water Temp Gauge Sensor which has a part number of 90980-11428. Could someone confirm to me that it is the temp sensor for the gauge?
  11. Well went to fit the upper rad hose on to my TT engine and noticed what I thought was a broken connector, on inspection the connector internals are fine just missing the plastic outer. Can anyone help me with the part number for this? Cant seem to find it. Want to get it ordered tomorrow and finish this TT conversion, don't think I will be able to fit it with the upper rad hose fitted. Its the top connector in the picture below:
  12. Saw this at Japfest this weekend! What a stunning job has been done on this!
  13. Brilliant I missed this on the website. Ill have to get one ordered.
  14. Looking to purchase one of these kits end of the week when I have been paid. Is is best to contact directly or buy through the website?
  15. I am just getting my TT engine ready to put into my NA and need to remove the crank pulley bolt to change the cambelt. Is there anywhere I can buy a reasonably priced tool for this? Or does anyone have one I can rent from them? Unfortunately I'm not confident enough to make one myself.
  16. Import Car Parts list them below: http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info?id=10550&cat=89&sub=1354&sec=1562&var=32&dc=0&gen=&searchKey=&searchPart= I use these for my servicing parts fine but this is obviously a bit different and the 2 month lead time would worry me as I would presume you would have to pay upfront. Lists the part number though which could be helpful.
  17. Im currently putting a TT engine in my NA using my w58 and just ordered the Spec Stage 3 + from Whifbitz. After doing some research seemed the best option due to it not being a paddle type clutch so more friendly for traffic and day to day driving. Mine is also a daily driver.
  18. Excellent project mate will be good to see this finished. Thank you for posting pictures of the part numbers also, I'm converting my na to tt using an auto loom and had no idea I could get the correct gearbox plug. Ill order one rather than bodging something together.
  19. Yeah I am wondering if this is the way to go, not sure how easy sourcing the loom will be though.
  20. Hi All, I now have a tt engine complete with loom and ecu's ready to drop in my Manual NA. I just have a few last questions before I start ripping everything apart. First off I have read and printed the excellent guide on here for the conversion but the engine and loom I have is from an Auto and I read that it may not start as the starter relays are different. Has anyone had any problems or any tips regarding this? I have read about cutting the Fuse box plug off and the reverse light switch, are there any other wiring mods that I need to watch for while doing this? Lastly any tips regarding the general conversion. Tim
  21. Thanks Guys I'm happy with the looks now just needs a bit of love. I know what you mean on the rear spoiler I'm 50/50 was thinking today I may put the standard back on for a bit.
  22. Continued It was now time for new wheels and managed to source some 9j / 10j Rays Volk Evolution 4 which are far better than the OZ wheels. Next was one of my favourite additions some OEM Recaros This is how the car sits now: The plans now have got a bit more serious, I have just picked up the below TT engine ready to drop in using my manual box.
  23. Well thought id update this as there has been much progress, only a brief description and picture just to catch up. After cleaning it up and getting rid of those stupid neons I sourced and fitted a replacement bumper so i could bin the veilside one. Next up I had a member on here refurbish my headlights and facelift them After the headlights It was time for a Earless Poly Lip as i didnt even have the standard one before. Soon after a TRD spoiler came available on here and I couldn't help myself.
  24. I contacted Tein regarding rebuilding the HA coilovers I have. They actually confirmed they could still rebuild them but was around £200 per corner and recommended all were done at the same time. You can buy a new set of coilovers for the same price so didn't bother myself.
