  1. I dont mind the Hi-Jack. Makes an interesting read. BUT, if anyone could help with drop in power 4.5-5k. Anyone reckon its more likely to be the pipes/intercooler or the CATs? Just to fill you in, i had some crunching, scraping noise a while back in the same rev band. Pulled over to seem if there was anything jamed up but saw nothing and the problem dissapeared. It didnt sound great though. Carry on:D Stephen V
  2. Yes, I agree with all thoughs points Paul. I'm trying to track it down. 1st T is doing wonders. 2nd is the problem. It seems to be more prominent when i floor it at about 3.5k rather than starting really low down in the rev range, as if it related to no.2 coming on line. I've only really noticed it once i changed from the standard panel to the K&N and changed the standard BOV to the HKS. I've checked the visable hoses, so i'll now start probimg further. Will go back to normal setup and see if that does anything as well. Many thanks SV
  3. hmm... That would seem to be in line with the stated 280hp out of the factory - probably. i dont know what others are getting. But i dont really see my mods to be that much of a power improvement, especially estimated 360hp from the engine. Cheers Stephen V
  4. Well done Paul, makes mine look like a shopping trolley:( Regards Stephen V

  6. Had my car dyno'd at JAE to help sort out my problem with dropping revs occassionally at 4.5-5k. yr 2000 6sp manual VVTi CAT back exhaust (Bullet) K&N replacement panel filter HKS bov Otherwise standard engine. Seems to be pulling ok, but it did show the problem, which is a good thing i suppose - at least it can be repeated. I also tightend up the bov which done diddly squat. Now going to check the hoses and smic (+standard bov), although the guy at THOR said it could also be the CAT's which would be his first guess. I was quite pleased with the result, even though of my drop when no.2 is well on. Please pop you thoughts/comments down. Regards Stephen V
  7. Yup:) I'll post it up under a seperate heading Cheers SV

This gets my goat. NUD wouldnt insure my import, as thet said they dont insure them anymore. I questioned it as they inusrued my import prelude, and said they dont know why they did, but confirm it did say import on the policy. She went of to check for about 5minutes (coffee maybe??) and said, her supervisor said they dont - helmets Adrian Flux £1293 Tesco £893 Allen & Allen £690. 30yr old 8yr ncb driveway import slight mods Cheers SV
  10. I bought my K&N replacement panel from: RoadRunner 0115 978 1173 £49.95 + £3.50 P&P all inc VAT. They get deliveries Fridays and arrived Monday. I tried the panel filter with the lid off. You dont get any induction roar as a N/A I assume, although you get loads of whistles. The shroud should also help to keep the heat back, but if you do this make sure to clip the panel back all the way around with the plastic frame that is provided. Regards SV

    Car Cover

Looks very similar to the Tyvek/Dupoint one i order with the exception of ear pockets, although i fold them in + it also has a an extra panel in for the spolier and fits very snuggly. I'll take some pics. Do you know what yours is made of? Regards SV EDIT: links:- http://www.tyvek.com/na/covers/english/carcover.html http://www.automotive.dupont.com/en/productServices/protectiveApparel/tyvekTranscovers.html

I did like wise. Changed it for the next size up (XL) - no problems now Was a speciel order though. Halfrauds said they didnt make one. Spoke to the manufacturers in the US who said they do and would fit my car......... & it did Regards Stephen

    Car Cover

What ever one you get, make sure it can breath. Dupoint / Tyvek do a cover from Halfrauds for about £80. Regards Stephen V
  14. You picked Caister St Edmund instead of Bury St Edmund, which is my neck of the woods, instead i've got a 3/4hr blat up some dodgy tractor infested race track:) I'd like to come along though, but have to check with my diary and see what shes got me doing that weekend:) Regards Stephen V

the mysteries of insurance continues. I use to insure my Prelude import with NUD but changed to Tescos for a year, then got the Supe. I ask NUD for a quote and they said they dont insure imports. I disputed that because you insured my Prelude. They went off to check and said, oh yes we did, didnt we. She went off to check again and said they wouldnt do imports now. It still seems to depend on absolutly nothing if you get a proper quote or not. Ended up at £690 including mods. Regards Sv

Insurance companies do seem to employee monkeys - no offence to people working in insurance. Got a cheaper quote from Alen & Alen :conf: Bell Direct transfered me to them - down to £700 all in. Cheers SV
  20. Just tried to get insurance from these guys. Was on the phone for ages and the guy went off to check and they only do a Auto TT for imports. Can any one confirm if this seems to be correct? otherwise i'm back with Tesco's. Regards Stephen V
