    Clutch’s

I may need a new one. My car was registered in Japan Nov 2000 and now done 37k – is it normal for one of these to go in this time? I know very much it depends on how its driven, but just broadly speaking. What are my options, cost and what power can they take for everyday use. Standard Toyota one? Plus any difference between UK and Jspec? Others? My cars standard apart from a cat back exhaust (300bhp at the hubs), but am looking to go no more than hybrids in the near future. My cars still under warranty, so I’m looking at going down that route. Any thoughts? Many thanks Stephen V

  7. Depending upon the quatitiy run its about £3m2 for the paint and application.
  8. Sorry I was talking bollox. You cant get ppc in a clear, well at least not in an architectural finish. Partly because when you pre-treat the aluminium before application it goes a shity yellowy green colour which most architects dont like plus the pigment is used to offer part of the protection. The polyester powder coat is baked on at 200 degrees, but is guaranteed upto 120, although once set it wont melt again, but it does burn/char. At 200 degrees you should be ok, but near 300 it will start to discolour and eventually burn off (class 0 spread of flame – ie. it doesn’t catch fire) Depends on what you want to finish but I would suggest Plasticote Clear Enamel which I think is ok for upto 400 degrees I think, and they even do a stove enamel for 600 degrees. B&Q sell it. God knows what myt Alien is finsihed in then Regards Stephen V
  9. I work for one of/the the largest UK architectural glazing companies with our own powder coating plant. Clear is not a problem (i've got a metal alien clear powder coated ) , its just un-common and you have to buy a bag of powder which is about £80+. I'll check the heat it is stable at. Paint manufacuters: These 2 are the biggest/best: http://www.synthapulvin.co.uk/ http://www.interpon.co.uk Others: http://www.omegacolours.com/ (same as synthapulvin but cheaper) http://www.hbfuller.com They will be able to give you a list of approved applicators, although you might find it cheaper from a smaller local company. Heres a few applicators to get going with: Barley Chalu 01953 602 771 Metallic Protectives 01926 491 811 Metalion 0208 965 4677 Supreme 01203 644 120 Maybe able to get something sprayed up at our works but i'll have to check, as we run batches and to do a one off small item is a pain - hence why most applicators probably shy away from it. I'll post back with the temp. Thought about anodising??? Regards Stephen

  16. Mine knocked a bit too, although i dont know if its the Rubbers, the Latch or the Suspension. Just received the bottom boot rubbers this morning:D Did you adjust the latch in the boot, or can you adjust it from under the drivers seat for the amount engagment on the latch, as mine doesnt seem to pop-off the latch from the lever by the drivers seat. I padded out the boot blocks (top bit) and it work ok for a while but now back to normal. Regards SV
